Welcome to modern gaming, where companies rob the masses who are too stupid to realise what's happening.
It's ironic, considering that this isn't the case at all.
It really is. Charging extra for stuff that doesn't add meaningfully to the game like cosmetics and weapons is ****, and as the saying goes "you are what you eat". So if people insist on eating **** then that is exactly what publishers and developers will provide. Doesn't end with the video games either, it just seems to be this universal rule which counts for everything including music, movies, books and politics.

EA/Bioware is still doing the alternative of allowing you to pay with everything by selling your soul to them.

Like myself. I'm totally not able to not pre-order the game from GameStop since I think they're a bunch of lowlife opportunists with nothing better to bargain with than a lousy DLC weapon and armor, the first of which is already in the game but in a different shape.

It's not like you have the choice of not buying the DLCs and not paying the companies a single dime or anything.

I'll bring this in from a similar thread:

A transparent sales plot that no one is required to pay for. So don't pay for it.
That's basically saying, "You want content? Well don't get any."
It ignores that we have a right to speak out agaainst their DLC practices while some of us still obtain the content in the meantime while we hope that they take our thoughts into consideration.
Those of us who want content have no choice. We get the content, and we just have to speak out about our issues with its release and how we get it. There is nothing wrong with that. It is feedback on something we feel is executed wrong, but as the only means to reach the product, we will have to follow their plans and hope they are respectable people that care about their customer's interests and experiences.

I am not an addict! I just want to buy everything bioware brings out! and if I can't afford it, I'll steal. and if I can't steal, I will kill for it....
That doesn't make me an addict. I just can't live without the dlcs bioware sells. TSSSS <opens another dr. pepper>

I wonder if people realize the the 271$ is for a bunch of action figure toys and not actual in game content....
Those action figure toys come packaged with in game content.
I would say inb4shortchanged, but it seems I'm late.
Also because you arne't being shortchanged.

Sigh, I like how this is being spun so the DLC is the main draw for the $271 price tag. 'Cause obviously its not just an extra freebie tacked on to 16 different ME figurines.
Shush with your logic.

If it includes a new DLC character, then BioWare would be pretty damn stupid if they didn't make it available for everyone, since only a fraction of their fanbase would pay for all those figures and even less people would get that code for the character.
It doesn't include a character, all that's included are new weapons for multiplayer.

But they aren't charging you extra for this DLC. They are charging you the price for the gorram figurines. The DLC is a free extra for the people who buy the figurines.

They are charging everyone for it, and the cost of the DLC is a factor of the figurine price. That is wrong.

Not new but not exactly a regular. Got to admit the fact that the freaking Dr.Pepper DLC got this sort of "I'm cancelling my pre-order" reaction is so very hilarious.Rojahar wrote...

They are charging everyone who wants to buy the figurines. That is hardly everyone. And no the cost isn't factored in. The figures would be 17.99 with or without the DLC.

Whatever DLC you can get with the figures will be up in the store. Bet on it.
It's just a bonus, an early bird bonus at worst. EA/Bioware wouldn't STOP PEOPLE FROM BUYING DLC, which is what you're doing for a lot of people if you say you have to buy figures to get them. ME2 already proved that people would buy them as standalones, so I don't think they'd miss that opportunity.
