Oh, there's more, but most of them involve you being a colossal douchebag with a superiority complex. I prefer to think you're a generally nice person who pretends to be a douchebag with no compassion whatsoever to feed his inner troll. Better to be a complex, relatable, and playful individual than a stupid jerk. And the fact that you only see those two options serves as further proof to that narrow-mindedness I mentioned earlier.
And no, being educated, eloquent, or well-read doesn't make you stop being a moron.
Or at the very least a narcissist.
Good to know.

Obviously, you care what people think of you on the internet. You asked me, Xil, and I think Ewok and Hathur about it, yes?
So yeah. If you think you're better than everyone else, and give no reason for it, and use it as a license to treat everyone else like dirt, you're a douchebag. We're not fighting over our favorite flavor of ice cream here.

I once worked as a lifeguard at a resort, the Geese were crass, violent, destructive and left little presents no on wanted everywhere. I actually watched a Goose assault a mallard duck and all of her chicks because she wandered to close to a gosling that was larger than the mother duck.

Kai Leng is a sick puppy. He took pleasure in slitting Aria's daughter's throat while she was incapacitated and unable to defend herself on Grayson's bed. If I remember correctly, he smiled when he did it. He is also physically revolted by aliens and doesn't even wish to occupy the same room as them because they sicken him. When he was dealing with the Turian security team, he wanted to kill them and only suffered them because it was crucial to his mission to do so. After his mission was accomplished, he did kill them.
I recall other nationalists that had similar feelings. The National Socialist Party in specific. Kai Leng is nobody to admire and there really isn't any candy coating him to make him more likeable. Anderson should have ended him when he had the chance. If I get the opportunity in ME3, he won't survive the encounter.
On the plus side, it is characters like this that really makes BioWare games shine. You might not like some of the characters you run across, but you will feel something about most of them.
^ This. Kai Leng has some serious issues. I don't know if there's even a reason for his xenophobia, his revulsion of aliens makes as much sense as someone hating a benign insect, splatting them on sigth and having the urge to scratch their skin afterwards.
It would be nice if we get a story but I would think it would have been in the Retribution novel (I think that's the one?), if there was anything. They did say he did time for beating up aliens while he was a marine. That's what caught TIM's attention.

Reaper cycle does explain the technological balance and the absence of older and superiour species and empires, but the power balance is still hard to believe when you look at the time this has took place in and the numbers of current rival species(dozens). Apparently most of these species are ultra conservative, lazy, stupid or incompetant and they dont build fleets, make tech breakthroughs or generally accomplish anything, if one new species can hop over them in just 25 years...
Maybe if it was 125 years instead of 25, it would have been much more believable. It's amazing what one number can do isnt it.
So far this has been acceptable for me, within limits, tough the events are clearly favoring humans in all regards, cause the "Gods"(writers) wish it so. My limits are being tested tough.
Compare how a great game Star Control 2 did it all to this and you can see clearly what im talking about. Setting for humanity is much more realistic in that games universe. We are one of the galaxy's underdogs. And other species actually do build fleets and have sphere's of influence comparable to our own, even coward races like the spathi.
