The three council races need to be taken down a notch, sure, but overthrown? Why not rally for reform so all races are equally represented?

If the Alliance, with Shepard at the forefront saves the Quarians in ME3, that could shift the power balance in the Post-Reaper ME Universe in Humanity's favour. The Council kicked them out, and then Humans come to their rescue.

Then there are all the non Council species. The Drell, Hanar, Volus, Elcor, Krogan. Again, Humans don't have to go to outright war with the other three council species, but by forming stronger trade relations and military pacts with the non-Council species, the Alliance could end up becoming the dominant power in the Galaxy.

No petitions for the Council to reform anything. The power balance would be shifted in Humans' favour, and then they'd dictate the terms.

So you're back at "You don't agree with me, so you're a troll/douchebag/jerk." already?

Good to know.

You're the one going around saying you're superior to everyone else, bub.  I'm just calling 'em as I see 'em.

Obviously, you care what people think of you on the internet.  You asked me, Xil, and I think Ewok and Hathur about it, yes?

So yeah.  If you think you're better than everyone else, and give no reason for it, and use it as a license to treat everyone else like dirt, you're a douchebag.  We're not fighting over our favorite flavor of ice cream here.

That wasn't so much caring as it was wondering what people perceived me like, more out of a general curiosity than anything else. And I just asked you and Xil, and I think some of my fellow Cerbies as well.

Also, chocolate is obviously the best taste out there.

Chocolate and mint should just stop playing coy and have sweet, sweet, sugary, creamy sex inside of my freezer.

Wait, we were talking about Kai Leng or something, weren't we? Sorry, Belgium doesn't have chocolate mint, just chocolate hazelnut, so the thought distracts me.

Maybe Kai Leng is racist because he watched the turians blow up his favorite chocolate mint ice cream factory. You heard it here first!

It can shift a lot more than that. As humanity continues to gain in strength the volus independence movement to separate from the Turian Hierarchy will grow in strength as well. Increasingly they'll see humans as the better patrons. If they leave the Hierarchy its economy will suffer greatly, speeding up their decline. The salarians will do the same and move closer to humanity. The asari have already called it quits.

In the end, the turian Hierarchy could very well dissolve and return the turians to their pre-Unification War state. There is already a separatist movement within turian society. It was responsible for the FTL bomb on that city reported on in the Cerberus Daily News.

If the turians fall apart there will be no single race in the galaxy that can stand up to the humans.

Of-course depending on how ME3 ends none of this may come to pass.

You know, after each war another war is following.
I like your short analyis. However, I'm not sure about the Volus: they're deeply included into Turian space & society, I doubt they can get away that easily. And do they want? The Volus are traders, but they're also quite reserved towards the "newcomers of the Earth-Clan". So I doubt they'll join them ... it's not possible.

The humans are destined to be one of the major powers in the end. They managed to build up massive fleets within less than three decades or so. They were able to give the Turians a beating in the First Contact War - and they were inexperienced with space battle, while Turians had several centuries of experience of space faring & waring already.

Plus: the Turians have a society that's based on their military. Nearly every Turian is in the military while only a few percent (3 or so) of humans are part of the Alliance forces ... you name it. If there's a war between both powers, humans will end winning that one since they easily can recruit new soldiers and officers while Turians can't do that ...

In Mass Effect 2 there is a news report (that is easy to miss because it only plays for a short time-frame) that talks about volus protesting for independence from the hierarchy while the 5th fleet does a flyby of their colony. So the movement is already in place.

Would the turians try to stop them? Maybe, but that would just be putting a bandaid over a severed limb.

The volus want security and they'll ally with whatever race can provide that too them. Humans are gaining ground and strength every day.

If it isn't on the wiki, it probably didn't happen as far as the devs are concerned.

Yeah, the planet in question is Patavig. The wiki fails to mention the protests that follow from the 5th fleet's visit.

I should correct them.

My own suspcious come from that fight with the Krogan, there may have been more to it then we know. I'm also guessing there's a sense of superiority with this guy that transends just aliens. I'm going out on a limb here and saying that Kai is going to be a sociopath that probably is going to not be reasonable. You can reason with TiM, he's willing to see how benfitial alien tech is, see how he followed the normady's orignal set up vs turning it into a different ship, so while he's looking out for humanity he can see that there's uses for the other races.

Kai though seems to believe that nothing good comes of Aliens, period. He's clearly of no sound mind, and reminds me a lot of the character of Kimbly from Full Metal Alchemist. A very dangerous character, murdering a person and taking pleaseure from it, then later using a boy as a weapon. No doubt that Kai probably has issues with other factors too, probably sees women as weak and non asians as unworthy or something like that. I noticed in the wiki that it seems to hint that he's got some mixed blood in him, but it seems that he's the type of person to deny this factor a lot.

I hope that when we get to face off with him it's well worth the wait. Also I have a feeling that TiM may be in over his head with this guy, because something makes me think that Kai's not that sane.

I hope it's not as cliche as Batarians killed my mother/father/dog not adding a reason would be very lazy on Bioware's part.

If it is then it's hopefully a set up for a bigger reveal, like reapers indoctrinated them to do it because they knew something that could screw the reapers up.

Kai Leng is a sick puppy. He took pleasure in slitting Aria's daughter's throat while she was incapacitated and unable to defend herself on Grayson's bed. If I remember correctly, he smiled when he did it.

Really?

What a weakling.

From a moral perspective I absolutely agree with you. From a physical perspective he is exquisitely dangerous. He took out an entire Turian squad in single combat and didn't even break a sweat doing it. He has also killed a Krogan bare handed in a bar fight. That's why he was drummed out of the Alliance. He is going to be a tough kill in ME3 if that opportunity presents itself. I think of him as the anti-Shepard.

lolwhat?

why would Bioware come up with BS like that when not even Shepard can take a krogan head on? he just headbutts one and then gets shoved out the way by them, but this Kai Leng bloke can just kill one with his bare hands?

The point is to make him seem more dangerous than Shepard so that when you meet him in the game, he is actually intimidating.
Besides, he used a knife and he is not the only human in the galaxy who can kill a krogan with just a knife.
