LS why are you even here? You barely played the first two games and I doubt you will even play the third. You do nothing about whine about the series and insult it's writers, there is apparently nothing that you like about it so why spend times on a forum of a series that you are not even going to play?

Didn't you know? My mission in life is to pi** you off.:D
And appearances can be decieving bub. You'd be wise to remember that.

Speaking of which, why are you here and not playing ME2 again? Probably because you havn't filled your daily quota of ass kissin?

Are you going to play ME 3 or not?

TIM is now a shallow villain.

That's why I say the writing is bad, Blacklash93. It's not because the narrative went in a direction I didn't like, but because the narrative veers off in a totally different direction and pretty much ignores all the development and story-telling that came before it.

First off:

TIM is now a shallow villain.

It's not because the narrative went in a direction I didn't like

TIM is as "deep" as always.

An ultranationalist control freak who claims to be attempting to get one of the already biggest players on galaxy politics even higher. Of course, he has actually entered direct conflict with their representantives more often than not.

It's actually amusing that you feel empathy for him, since his rant about idealism and pragmatism is present regardless of what your final choice is, even if the versions are different. His view on the world is easily comparable to a wanna-be edgy kid just entering puberty.

The dialogue with him if you actually pick the paragon choice is equally amusing, as he loses his cool, and doesn't manage to slip through your questions. He fails to deny that he wants to build a Human Reaper, when confronted with it, and when asked "Human dominance" vs "Cerberus dominance" he rants about how Cerberus, is actually humanity.

He's just an immature idiot with power who justifies (to himself and others) his greedy ways as the "greater good". There have been plenty of him in the last 50 years.

The worst thing is that he actually drinks bourbon, not scotch.

Kiss my butt.

HARDCORE!!!!!!!!!

Why would he even try to deny something so redicolous?
An accusation so stupid, so brainless, deserves no reply. Only someone as epicly stupid as Shepard could even think of a stupid plan like that.

1. Humans are now on the council.
2. Humans now have Spectres.
If as you say Cerberus is the same as the council then why not just have things stay the same?

Collectors kidnap humans.
Human Councillor asks for aid from the Citadel Fleet.
Asari, Turian and Salarian Councillors vote against him, with the most hypocritical excuse ever.
3 to 1, we lose. Nothing happens, Collectors keep abducting humans.

If you chose right Shep got reinstated as a Spectre and allowed to investigate.

The "Spectre resinstatement" is just a hoax. I don't get it that people are actually so blind to fall for it.

Spectre-status means NOTHING in the Terminus system, where Shepard's investigation takes place during ME2. And Shepard ONLY gets "Spectre reinstament" if he/she promises to stay away from the Council and their business.

Illium where 2 recruitment missions take place, The Citadel itself. Both in Council space. The planet you do Kasumi's loyalty is in the same system as the citadel, while Garrus' loyalty mission is also in the Citadel.

Granted, they are not for the Collector inquiry apart from the recruitment, however to do what he has to do requires much less paperwork as a Spectre than as an ex-Spectre. If it is actually true.

Tuchanka too is Citadel space right? Getting the support of Urdnot becomes a tad easier when you have no rules.

Maybe if you were open minded and reasonable and not so stubborn we'd make progress?

No it doesn't.

If I say a car was made poorly does that mean I am a mechanic?

If I say a meal was terrible does that mean I am a chef?

Don't be such a fanboy, for god's sake.

Open mindedness, being reasonable and making progress is overrated.

Right back at you.  Why not let everyone play their game the way they like playing it?  It's not as if this were some MMO where your gameplay is actually affected....

I feel that Cerberus is an enemy, even in ME 2, and should never be trusted.

You believe otherwise (judging by your posts).

Anyways, have fun!  If you have fun in Mass Effect, then Bioware has done their job, haven't they?

There is absolutely nothing "deep" about TIM represented in the games. He's "Shadowy Controller of Organization Number 1" for the ME series.

Sometimes I think people like a certain archetype - then remember all the other characters of that type that were written and super-impose depth upon characters that are otherwise totally lacking.

You do realize that this was done as an act of understanding Turian technology so that mankind would eventually dominate the galaxy.

Cerberus isn't some group that does good deeds every now and than because they're generous. They're doing it to achieve their own goals. TIM specifically stated that Cerberus' goal is securing humanity's dominance of the galaxy. Not being a part of the galaxy or joining the council to coexist with the other species, but to be in charge.

If Cerberus did any act that was beneficial for someone else, it was only because their methods of reaching their goal was the same as those they were helping. Shepard wasn't brought back to save the galaxy for everyone, he/she was brought back as a way for Cerberus to be rid of an obstacle that stood in their way. Remember, he never told Shepard his true intentions until after the suicide mission was complete. If you have Shepard destroy the base, he orders Shepard not to and than orders Miranda (If she joined Shepard for the final battle) to stop Shepard. From his point of view, he wasn't resurrecting Shepard, he was creating a tool. He had everything in place to have Shepard work for Cerberus in order to further their goals.

This.

But even though Cerberus's intentions were selfish and negatively ambitious, they DID help the galaxy in numerous ways... Including the aliens. Not intentional but nevertheless.

I wonder how this crime of Cerberus is almost always forgotten...

Cerberus covertly contacts Michael Moser Lang, a political dissident on Earth, and provides him with funding to purchase weapons. Cerberus continues to monitor him after contact ends. One year later, Lang assassinates United North American States president Enrique Aguilar and Chinese People's Federation premier Ying Xiong. The resulting political shuffle benefits Cerberus' shell companies and plans for the Systems Alliance Parliament.

I often made this out to be a prime example of terrorism. Two world leaders assassinated and the expected political shuffle benefits Cerberus. I would have had to believe "fear" would be included in that shuffle and advancing of plans for Systems Alliance Parliament.

Even if Cerberus doesn't claim public responsibility for this act of terrorism they did benefit and use the assassination and most likely resulting fear to further their own goals.
