That's why Udina as a politician, even in ME1, was never very good. First try to meet with the council to bring Saren to justice failed. Second meeting once we had evidence worked because we (our Shepards) blew enough steam the first meeting and when you blow steam there's usually tea. I can imagine the council loves to brew tea because they constantly wanted to ****** off Commander Shepard. Another meeting with the council that mattered was when we were told to come back to the Citadel by the council. Udina was there but was of no help to us and was agreeing like a lap dog and all things considered was completely unnecessary as the council could've locked down our ship.

At the end of the game no matter what happens the human race gets a seat on the council with or without Udina's help and here comes ME2. If it is not a human led council, than renegade Shepard should be pissed because he/she gave Udina every opportunity to make humans look intimidating, and he blew it because there are aliens on the council. They're new members of the council from the same races as before, but it's not an all human council like Udina planned. Oh yeah, how does he thank Shepard if he's on the council? By throwing him/her under the bus.

For people who believe Udina is a good politician you have to realize he's as bad as your annoying grandpa that doesn't know when to shut up. He keeps talking and no cares to listen because he usually has nothing good to say that can be accomplished. Having Shepard become the first human Spectre after Admiral Anderson failed was not through Udina's diplomacy as we never saw it on screen. It was to get Commander Shepard away from the Citadel. He did the research and if it went any deeper like he assumed than whatever Saren was up to could decimate the Council's image and they needed that stopped. In order to kill three birds with one stone you send Shepard away, give the humans their Spectre, and you save the Citadel from any tarnished image. It's a win! Oh yeah, not to mention a former dead Spectre thought you were good stuff too to earn your Spectre status rather than a politician who only saw combat once the Citadel was attacked and if you had Anderson show him what a good right hook looks like.

Udina cannot do anything that Shepard can do. I'm surprised they don't just make Shepard the councilor. He/She can paragon, renegade, or get a crowd into a frenzy to get results. Udina? Well he can get someone assassinated really well. Maybe he is a good politician after all, I mean behind speaking. All I know is, if Udina tried to help Earth by sending forces their, he wouldn't be all that useful.

You should be a politician.:P

I'd love to see a femshep "tenderly" pick up and carry Kaidan after injury. Not that it'd be improbable with her cybernetic arms, but it'd just be a funny sight.

My only concern now is XboxMag supposed to be trusted? They messed up many times in the past.

Same.

I hope this means stuff like Liara's unskippable hug are avoided in ME3 unless Shep gives the game a reason to think he and the character in question are friends/close.

There's a problem with that. Liara would've hugged Shepard even if we didn't like her. She liked Shepard from the moment we were on the Normandy as we were touched by Prothean tech. Even if people were stirring rumors we were into her on the Normandy SR1 when we weren't dating her and Shepard was a giant hound dog and asked for a threesome, she'd still want it because Commander Shepard was touched by Prothean tech. For her, Shepard's a metaphorical Prothean and what genius doesn't want to **** her favorite historical mental image?

Shepard is the one who initates the hug. =] I don't have a problem with Wrex because Wrex is the one who grabs and drags Shep to him. So yes  I have a huge problem with my Shepard that bite her head off everytime he could in ME1 (and before anyone says the "but but she brought him back to life!" that doesn't mean squat to him plus he didn't even know it at that moment) suddenly being "Liara! *hugs*"

Really? It looks like Liara does it. Considering I was just playing that moment of the game last night it would be really bad if I was incorrect.

I had a feeling and didn't really care to be quite honest. It seems the BSN has gotten progressively filled with less RPG fans as the Mass Effect series has progressed. I remember fans right before ME2, much more RPG enthusiats back then. I'm using the substituion method, guess where.

Ah believe me too, when I say I miss the days when liking Mass Effect before it was even the cool. Now its attracted too many people that I don't really like. I don't want this to turn into a Star Wars or Star Trek convention.

Oh and I'm more of the casual forum user. Maybe a few paragraphs and sentences. Its just that I become over whelmed when people put in a huge block of words. People don't really talk that way in real life.

Yeah Shepard moves into it you're right in that Liara initates it though. I just rewatched a vid. Liara does move first but unlike Wrex she doesn't complete it. Shep moves forward as well which is bleh.

I don't know about you but if I don't like someone I'm not gonna finish a hug.

I liked it because I enjoyed the first story so much. A friend gave it to me for my birthday (because he was done playing it... a win in my book!).

That just doesn't make sense to me though that Liara wouldn't move first. As I scanned looking for videos where they don't kiss to see who moved first, I stumbled across this: Yes, yes, oh god yes!

She does initiate it, I win!

And I ninja'd you. I win first.

But still I don't know...to me it seems Shep's too willing to hug her back. Yes I'm overly anal about this. Don't care. Shep moves into the hug (unlike Wrex where it's more of a dragging thing so one could see even renedouche deciding it's better to move towards the 800 pound Krogan tugging on his arm than to play tug of war).

I would've vastly preferred the handshake. It's harder for me to turn down a handshake than a hug. (that and I can't stand people hugging me. Which is probably where 90% of my agitation comes from.).

...*stares at vid* What the hell. What does that have to do with Liara? It's an Elcor and Shep getting it on.

Ugh. Facebook made its way into ME3. I hate how I will have to do stupid social games to complete all of ME3.

What are you talking about? Does this mean that you can't complete the Campaign without Xbox live or something? Your comment is scaring the sh*t out of me dude, please explain.

you don't need facebook.

Edit: Its more of an extra feature like how is the war doing and the like. I would compare it to the only other thing Halo Waypoint

This is really the first time I'm hearing about FB. I heard they might do something like this. I would considor this something in the like that shows statistics of players. But I really doubt its needed to complete the game. Just something EA/Bioware is pushing to make the game more fun and interactive.
