Well that's what happened to Jack. It sucks, but there's nothing to be done about. At least you didn't read the leak, so you don't know her story. Consider yourself luckly.

Hey, Jack's new role is awesome.  Crazy, but somehow they made it work.

No it isn't, its out of character.

Gee, because it's impossible for emotionally damaged punks to stop being juvenile and calm down while still having a personality that very gently says "f**k the system".

What they wrote at that point was inconcievable for the character regardless of the time frame. Also, nice narrow minded view of the character.<_<

So says you. How much of the leak have you actually read? Or are you determined to stay angry?

*Spoiler*
That was for leaving, ******.
Fine. I'll burn the N7 tat off my ass later. Right now, we need to get my guys out of here.
Hey, EDI. Nice body. Now you look like a sex bot instead of a sex toy.
Hey, Jack, now that you're military, you gonna wear a uniform? Or are you just getting the officer's bars tattooed on?
Screw you, f... flight lieutenant.
*Spoiler end*

Trust me, Jack is still very much Jack.

I didn't say her personality, I said her story. What she's doing in ME3 makes no sense for her character.

Right. I assume you romanced her, and saw her breakdown with Shepard, right? You honestly don't think someone like that could have a soft spot for kids that very easily could have ended up like her?

She's a human biotic, training human biotics. Its not like they turned her into Mr. Rogers or something, she's teaching them the way Jack would probably teach anyone anything; with harsh words and a lot of attitude.

The Alliance probably wanted an expert biotic that understood humans, and I can think of no one better.

Vega -is- cool. I'll give him a chance to prove himself as good replacement for Wrex or Grunt as "MBT" - "Main Battle Tank".
And I'm sure he'll come with some pretty cool lines. I like him. Shepard will like him. They both could be like brothers ^^

A soft spot for kids? No. A soft spot for abused kids or children in genuine danger? Yes. Remember that trouble doesn't start until she's been there for a long while.

The character wouldn't help in this way, it woldn't even occur to her. Now if she were helping kids in danger, like those that get kidnapped by slavers, or stopping another hidden teltin type facility where they're trying to breed another one of her, then that would make sense. The fact that they wrote her with a 180 without the build up feels like they rushed her story out the door. Yes the dialogue is very much her, but dialogue isn't all that's needed to tell a story.

Not only did the paragon ending ended with her beginning to understand herself above everything else. She isn't beyond doing something good or even heroic in ME3, but Jack's type of help would be a lot different than what she's actually doing. That's my grip with what she's doing.

As long as my Shep isn't forced into de facto buddy relationship with him i have no problem with others wanting that type of relationship.

Trufax. Could say the same about other characters - I won't.
Lets say I'm a strong supporter of as much freedom for roleplaying as possible. If that means buddy!Vega and marriage!Liara for one guy it also could mean dislike!Vega and forever alone for others ^^

Vega's not your run-of-the-mill grunt, he's like a more greener version of Shepherd in ME1. He's gotten his hands dirty, can take care of himself, and is a noteworthy fighter. James' also sardonic and incredibly taciturn, so he's not a meathead either.

I'm looking forward to have him on my team. He seems like someone I could get along with real well with in real life.

As others have said, the script is incomplete, and as such, has massive holes that can/probably will be filled in the final release.

Biotic children are usually the bi-product of an accident involving eezo, and most of them grow up with severe handicaps, including autism, brain tumors, physical abnormalities, etc. They might not be abused. but they need help. The ones who aren't as disadvantaged, often have no place to go, or get funneled into the military to be used as weapons. I can see Jack taking an interest in something like that.

Besides, where would she go? Where could she go? Most of the galaxy wants her head, she doesn't exactly have a home to run to, or a family to console her. Grissom Academy offers her something that no where else can; people like her, biotics, many of them misunderstood, but accepted regardless, something she never had in her entire life.

Its not bizarre to think she wants to see how life could have been, and make a better future. Just because she acts pissed off all the time in ME2, doesn't mean she was always like that. Her talks during her loyalty mission speak of a deeper side to her that we might not have seen during the actual game. She could have cried herself to sleep every night, and the player would never know.

Yeah, its incomplete, but as it was, it wasn't a strong enough story for Jack. If they somehow explain it away and making believable, then that's something else.

Personally I thought she would've stayed with Shepard, or attended to some of the things I mentioned. Going after people who went after kids like her, predominately slavers

Its not beyond the real of possibility for the character, with the proper pieces of the story laid before. She did sucessfully show many nuances of her personality when she's at teltin and during the romance, but the satement wasn't that she wanted to experience the life shou could have had, the statement was that she wanted to move on to something that was her own. Those two are two very different things.

Perhaps it would make more sense if her teaching at Grissom was only an option for Paragon Romances, or at least Paragons in general; as she would possibly otherwise be hunting the slavers and users as you've mentioned.

Either way, I still believe that she's an intelligent woman underneath all her rage, and could easily see the benefits of being at a a place like the Academy anyway. But again, it does depend on how Bioware writes how it happened.

They surprised me with Vega not being an ape in armor, so I'm feeling optimistic here. I'm a very big Jack fan, and am happy to see her role in ME3 not reduced to a Horizon-esque cameo. She plays an important part in the story, at an important time, which more than can be said for someone like Miranda. Which is fine by me, considering I cannot stand that crybaby.

I'm looking forward to meeting and working with Vega. Meeting new people is fun.

I understand how players feel when their favorite characters are sidelined. I'm a Kaidan lover, so, yeah. But I still like having new characters in the game, along with old favorites.

I think people don't get it but Bioware actually wanted people to have different squadmates in each game. I am sure some of you people were complaining about VS, Liara and Wrex not being squadmates in ME2. I am also sure that after ME3 most people will love the new squadmates as much as the ME2 squad.

Hopefully that will be true; considering over half of it it ME1's squad. :D

No complaints here. Every new game needs some fresh blood. Besides, Bioware know how to make interesting characters better than anything else.

I agree, she's a very intelligent character and perhaps the most human of all the characters in the series thus far, with a plethora of emotion that you rarely get to see in modern fiction not to mention video games.

I don't see how hunting down monstrous people is beneath her or outside of what could be expected of her, but hunting down people who kidnap and enslave children should ne considered a very paragon act and not one reduced to a renegaded Jack.

Well, as long as her story is fulfilling, I suppose there isn't much more we can expect for her or any of the other ME2  members. Hopefully what was left to be done was done with attention to who the character is rather than filling in time.

Hopefully Vega may be decent, nothing spectacular I mean, he isn't going to be the next Mordin but he should be good. FP Jnr looks (sounds) solid as VA.

But am I the only one that finds the nicknames a stupid gimmick? I see no reason for him to do it, seems a bit silly. Oh well.

But if you lot think Vega may be bad, then Oh my, the spoiler is going to be 1000 times worse. I was so cheesed off.

At this point, I've put my faith in having LI have more of a role per ME2 squadmates then the others. Its also a reason I tried so many combinations, all with new LIs. Problem is, that I had to take ME1 from others and walkthroughs becuase I'm a PS3. I've tried to be civil and really take ME1 into my ME2 choices, but in the end, I love the series on my ME2 squad..... and it will be hard to watch my Shep/Tali first playthrough knowing that some of my peeps like Samara will be lost in translation after a mission on Thessia (Just an example, not a real spolier)
