Likely this won't be received well...

I've yet to see any news of anything but Online Only Multiplayer, so someone please clue me in if there is news I've missed.

If there is Local / Offline support for the 'Co-op' mode I'll sooner light the speculated Online Pass to play it on fire and never use that feature of the game.  While Bioware / EA may not care if they already got my money for a pre paid pass, it means I will NOT be offering up any additional money for DLC.

I love multiplayer and do not want to ignore this feature, but No support common to every other A List title with cooperative elements is either laziness or selling out to publisher demands which I find unacceptable.  I have a very low tolerance for games that are built with an intended shelf life or disposable nature.  Mass Effect 1 & 2 can be picked up an played without threat of a key feature no longer being avaiable.

Please make independent co-op free of EA's servers happen!

As far as i can remember bioware have repeatedly stated it is online only MP but then again they also repeatedly denied any MP or kinect functionality so who knows what will be announced in the next month

I remember Jesse Houston either tweeting or posting somewhere that they were looking into adding local and splitscreen down the line.

I know there was rumor of it, but until they make official announcement or the game ends up having it, I'm skeptical.

For those helping, I know it is currently online only, I'd like to see the community rally in support of this feature, but I'm sure for a lot of people it does not matter. I know more people are out there that are a bit disgruntled with the multiplayer approach this time around.

No splitscreen, sadly this format has passed on. We will remember it fondly...

Games still support it.  The towel doesn't need to be thrown in on it yet.   ie Gears of War  3 still has it, and it's a 3rd person game.

I knew what the official answer was but, please Bioware in the future add LAN and split screen. That's the "true" multiplayer experience with your friends.

I'm aware of that, so unless there is any intention of adding otherwise, Bioware is not getting anymore of my money to support that format.  :police:

Perhaps you'd be kind enough to relay a legit fan concern instead of trolling please, Chris.  Because honestly, if Bioware's approach will be like this in the future, I strongly question whether I'd even buy more Bioware games in the future now that the trilogy will be over.  What motivation is there for me to expect Bioware would create a Mass Effect title any differently, if new features are half hearted?

Chris giving you an honest answer is considered "trolling" now?

Damn.

@LPPrince, is the sinister smiley common practice?

@Xerxes52, Agreed, even having bots as a minimum would be better than nothing at all.

That's his sig.  It's in every post.  He could be offering condolensces on someone's dead relative and you'd see

Ah yes, because this kind of threats always work.
No, really. You asked a question. Chris answered it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see any trolling there. I would very much wellcome LAN Multiplayer, but if it isn't included, it isn't included, they won't change it in the last minute.

Also, if you won't add squirrels to the game, count me out.
:)

@AleshCZ, One must be worked up, in order to chill out. I'm not here enough to know what goes for moderator behavior around here.

If that's the official statement and Bioware doesn't add anything for this in the future, it is really sad that Bioware has sold out to corporate methodologies.

I just hope it isn't peer to peer playing. The last p2p game I bought was modded by the host and max'ed out my rank and changed all my custom slots weapons and such. So, now I don't play that game and completely uninstalled that game(MW2). And, NO i didn't buy MW3.
So if it goes local it will probably be p2p connection. I hope it will be server based co-op.

Chris answered you nicely. And now your going on a rant on corporate greed? FYI Bioware was always a corporation in the first place not a chill lets hang out place.
