Does any EA game even have split screen online?

It does seem like that lately. Really hated that when they didn't add that to BF3

Dude, Chris gave you a straight up answer, and now you're complaining about it - Bioware was under no obligation to add multiplayer of any kind, if they decide to not do splitscreen then that's their decision.

@Mass Effect Player, you're putting words in my mouth. When developers start up before they start making the big bucks they tend to have more of an emphasis on creativity and unique elements, once they become a known quantity there's more pressure to adhere to deadlines and publisher demands. I'm not point fingers due to a known trend, I'm stating it's unfortunate.

@BatmanPWNS, Army of Two did

Alright let it got about the trolling comment, I interpreted it as such because of the smiley. Sheesh

@Yuaoman, Of course they don't have that obligation as long as people buy a product without objection. That's why I'm reiterating a request in hopes that people agree it should still be a feature.

@AleshCZ, One must be worked up, in order to chill out. I'm not here enough to know what goes for moderator behavior around here.

If that's the official statement and Bioware doesn't add anything for this in the future, it is really sad that Bioware has sold out to corporate methodologies.

Or perhaps splitscreen is just not feasible.

The HUD could be too small. Maybe it puts too much of a strain on the consoles to generate two sets of visuals simultaneously given all the extra stuff they've added to the Unreal Engine.

I'm aware of that, so unless there is any intention of adding otherwise, Bioware is not getting anymore of my money to support that format.  :police:

Perhaps you'd be kind enough to relay a legit fan concern instead of trolling please, Chris.  Because honestly, if Bioware's approach will be like this in the future, I strongly question whether I'd even buy more Bioware games in the future now that the trilogy will be over.  What motivation is there for me to expect Bioware would create a Mass Effect title any differently, if new features are half hearted?

Spliscreen multiplayer died a long time ago. The only games that I know support it is Halo, CoD, and Gears.

QQ moar Mr. Butthurt, and stop trying to put down Chris. He works hard at this game, and "Relayed" a straight answer.

And when has Bioware ever done splitscreen before? You're expecing something that hasn't been done before from them, with little to no prior examples, to include a feature that is all but dead. Next time, think before speakin'.

@Candidate88766, I know that's a common likelihood, but if Gears can do it, I'm sure Mass Effect could have, had it been built it. That's why I'd hope for least split or LAN if one is not available. It comes down to the design document. If Bioware didn't intend to add it then they didn't put it in. I'm requesting they find a way. :?

Ok, leave off the trolling comment. It was an honest mistake by the OP.

The team is aware of demand for otehr forms of Multiplay, but cyrrently none are planned. Should this change, we would let everyone know.

Isn't that mostly because they're working with smaller budgets? The more money a publisher puts into something, the less chances the publisher will want to take with that money.

Thanks Chris, I know a lot goes into the dev, and I'm not trying to incite anything other than a legit request. Is there anything the community at large can do to help influence the decision for Bioware to consider adding it? Especially for those who would really like to see it added as a feature?

I can play Online Only for now, I though for me recommend playing offline. I prefer Offline, locally more. I hope they add it in the Future, make it a priority.

What will happen if Internet is down, a company been hacked or whatever, you can't play online? There's at least Local, Offline play.

Not really. A thread like this, where people sensibly request a feature (whatever it may be) is the best way to get it noticed. If many people ask for a feature, that definitely adds creedence to it being added in the future.

Thanks, and I figured as such which is why I'd like more people to speak up on this, because I know it came up in the other thread, but it started to die out.  Plus many people stop requesting once they get the notion that they can't do anything to change it.

Personally, I'd pay twice as much for Mass Effect 3 if it meant getting that feature in there because that's how much I enjoyed 1 & 2.   I know many'd think that crazy, but honestly I'd rather support Mass Effect than not do so because I didn't speak up enough or didn't vote with my wallet.

So if I wanted to request curly hair option for Dragon Age or Mass Effect, I just have to start a thread? COOL! XD

You're a little late...since all of those games are basically done and over. But, go you! Power to the player!

Oh man, how I miss those days where you invited friends over to play video games while sitting on the couch.

That was the big difference between gaming on PC or a console. Now with online passes, DRM, DLC and all these new fads. Deciding your platform of choice is based on which one punishes you less than picking the most enjoyable one. I hate modern gaming.

Basically this.

Technology has given way to a decline in what used to be awesome social experiences.   Playing Mass Effect in the same room with friends would be great.

I still have those nights with my college bros. THey all come over to my orm every Saturday night with 6 packs of Amp and Rockstar, and we have 4 xbox 360's hooked up where we jam out to CoD, Boderlands, GoW, and Halo.

I can understand you want for ME, it's a great franchise. But it was a single player game, and they just added multi, so they're taking baby steps, or so I'm assuming.

Maybe they'll release a more Multi-centric ME game in the future, because they said while Sheppard's story was over, the Mass Effect Universe will still carry on.

They're not going to do anything which would devalue the online passes which they're using to discourage second hand sales.
