An offline / LAN / Split-screen Multiplayer feature would be great for future gaming experience.
I know from experience that after years of gaming you always go back to those few great titles to play with your friends in multiplayer. Only that is made possible by providing LAN Multiplayer because honestly most online multiplayer options do not survive more than five years.
I want to be able to come back to ME3 Multiplayer whenever I feel like it and not worry about any online functionality being shut down.
Plus it might be old school but me and my friends still come together for some good old LAN sessions without any mentionable internet connection around. We would love to play ME3 then, too.

This is the concept which I haven't been able to say in so few words.  Enjoying a game with the expectation to still be fun later!

@jreezy, that was addressed on page #2

I'm definitely on for some couch multi player. It'd be darn hype to play with friends around me =) When I played ME3 multi player at Gamex, that was exactly how I played it. I had a friend next to me. It was glorious =) Would love to be able to relive that in the retail version without having him to get a tv and his xbox over here.

I didn't think of that. If they had local multiplayer at the conventions, then a large majority of the code must already be there! Maybe there is a ray of hope of couch multiplayer.

You misunderstand me. We didn't have "true" local multi player at Gamex. We sat by a laptop each and each computer was running its own instance of ME3 and had its own connection to the internet (presumably, perhaps the beta they were running ran fine over a LAN or whatever, but it makes no difference).

So basically, if you get some friends together and all of you play on PC laptops, then it's possible to do what I got at Gamex. I'm a console player myself, though... =\\

Mass Effect 1 & 2 can be picked up an played without threat of a key feature no longer being avaiable.

Not really... To use any DLC in ME2, you have to get a verification from the server each time you start the game. What happens when the server goes down...?

Anyway, of course I support LAN and splitscreen, I'd rather have Origin not being required, but at best we'd (all ME3 players for the former, console players for the middle, and PC players for the later) get both.

While i would like LAN/offline multiplayer, the fact is i cant remember the last game i bought that supported it.

All multiplayer is online nowadays with easily got broadband.

@Tony_Knightcrawler, I could be in misunderstanding of how PS3 / PC work for DLC, but with Xbox 360, DLC can be used offline without internet connection as long as that system has the license for that DLC.

@Siven, I agree that many gamers now have broadband, but just because that may be 'common' does not mean its absolute. The notion of having to connect to the internet just to setup a 'LAN', I personally find to be absurd. :(

It will probably be Online Only:

EA will probably manage the servers, that means the pressure in making it will mean no offline multiplayer or Lan.

We know this, that's why we're speaking up for Bioware to do something about it.

Sadly this means I won't be able to play online. I've only got an Xbox silver account, and I'm not going to spend the extra money on multiplayer that I can't use with my friends and fiancée because they all have PS3's.

Ideally I'd like splitscreen, that way my fiancée and I are guaranteed to have a good multiplayer game we'll be using for years, and be willing to fork out extra cash for DLC.

Add my name to the list OP. I also miss the good-old-fashioned split-screen multiplayer.

So I sign for split-screen. Add my name to it.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking about how it might be different for console. BioWare really likes to mess with PC gamers, huh? :-P

Understatement, lol.

@Luc0s, done. :)

Some of you have some really strong supporting comments.  I may start adding some of them as quotes to the first post as well, if things keep rolling.

Is this the case, though? I used to play ME2 on PC, and remember using DLC items when I was offline. The game always verifies the DLC if you have a connection, but if you don't I thought it just worked. At least it's always been that way for me. I moved to PS3 because all I had was a useless laptop that played everything in lag speed (seriously, Insanity was a breeze compared to Normal on my laptop =P).

PS: Add me to the list of peopel wanting offline MP. I probably won't actually use it, but I support the principle of it.

Whenever I tried to play the game while my computer was offline, it'd warn me that it couldn't verify the DLC and all that content would be unavailable until it could. I never actually went into the game like that, though. I'd usually either fix the internet problem or start playing something else.

Yeah, count me in for splitscreen and local co-op. More games need to have that.

They keep telling you guys the same thing over and over again. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. So why keep posting new topics on the same thing? Sorry, but this is getting annoying.:pinched:

Offline/local is important, because not everyone has stable internet to fully enjoy online play.

I grew up with Goldeneye 007 so I definitely support the awesomeness that is split-screen multiplayer. Please make it happen with a post-release patch BioWare.

I just realised the OP is also asking for -"Solo + Bot Support"
I remember one of the developers claim it would be hard but possible to finish MP maps solo so I guess there is the option of Solo + Bot support. I don't know if it'll work offline though, but I doubt it. Unless Bioware prevents players from stat farming offline for online profile development.
