I have no idea if this has ever been brought up. I'm still new to the forums, so, I apologise ahead of time if someone else has already had this ah-ha moment. I just need to affirm my suspicions.

We all know the whole Morrigan's ritual thing. The baby, Archdemon spirit, Old God anew thing. Knowing of this ritual assumes it has happened before. Is Sandal a baby Old God? That would explain his innocence and magic "miracle" abilities, right? Even if the ritual was preformed centuries ago, it must take Ages for a God to mature. And maybe it took the form of a dwarf because it was all it knew in the Deep Roads where Bodhan found him, or maybe the ritual was preformed by a dwarven woman.

I came up with this theory literally seconds after waking. I had a weird, non-Dragon Age related dream, and woke up with "Sandal is an Old God."  So I could be very wrong. Or someone else already pointed it out, it was affirmed, and I'm not really a super awesome Dragon Age genius.

Anyway. Lets discuss this. Or not.

This isn't a theory, just wild guessing.

Considering that a theory can be "a speculative or conjectural view or idea," I would say that yeah, what the OP posted qualifies as a theory. ^_^

Examples of theories for comparison.

....or we could discuss the definition of the word "theory". That's cool, too.

He's the bastard progeny of an Aeducan and a human/elf, as confirmed in Legacy.

Still, there's nothing saying that he can't be the Old God Baby of an Aeducan that ended one of the earlier Blights -- IIRC, two of the Blights still don't have a record of who ended it -- and has lived for a few centuries.

A theory is based on proveable points, not wild speculation on would-have-beens and mayhabs.

A shame that speculation isn't appreciated, and truly, I felt that mousestalker provided some fine examples of theories.

Whatever definition you want to associate with "theory" is your choice. Different dictionaries may vary on what they list as the meaning of the word. Nonetheless, the OP has some valid ideas.

@OP - There are some older threads that deal specifically with Sandal and who, or what, he may be. A couple that you may want to peruse for kicks:

Sandal and the Scary Old Lady

Another Sandal Theory

And some theories/speculation about his prophecy:

Elinia Zinovia, the Maker, Sandal...

Sandal's Prophecy

There are quite a few out there, but those were the most recent ones with a good amount of posts.

The Old God theory has been suggested before, and it would certainly explain things. Could be that he is a unique entity entirely, or a hybrid of some sorts. Some say he is a salamander shapeshifter. Image IPB

Ah, so me correcting her is equal to not appreciating her guessing?

Quit the hiding and pointing fingers, i just corrected what i thought was an error, i never intended to say that her "speculation" was any more right/wrong than my own. Image IPB

OOooo, thank you so much. Like I said, I'm new to the forum, so I appreciate the links.

Sandal is a very interesting character, I'm glad others agree. I love reading other people's theories/guesses as well.
