Another bit of dubious lore:

The next object was a vial of tears that had been shed by a turian saint.

Since when do turians have saints? Codex certainly doesn't give that impression:

Sigh. Also at that same auction they seem to suggest that the selling point for the Prothean artifact is a map for something outside our galaxy. I guess whoever bought it will just ask the Reapers to give them a ride out there?

This is so bad it makes act III of Dragon Age 2 look like the holy grail of writing (and that is coming from someone who is an actual fan of DAII).

They are epic Space Romans. You shall see no tears!

That did get me a bit confused but I just assumed its something else part of their history we don't know about.

Oh, and apparently, the Citadel is "star-shaped":

All of which was normal for the huge star-shaped space station that served as the cultural, financial, and political hub of the galaxy.

I know it's got the five arms and all, but it does not resemble a star.

That bit doesn't bother me.  The Reapers can't encircle the entire galaxy, and there could easily be a few oddball systems just outside the galaxy's edge.

I also guess aliens auction items the same way we humans do too.

I just meant that there has been no indication of anyone inside our galaxy having traveled outside the galaxy, but I'm willing to concede the point.

Yeah that too. And it still bugs the hell out of me that this takes place on the batarian homeworld.   It's a totalitarian police-state, for Christ's sake.

Oh God, so many holes.

And I've already preordered it on a nearby bookstore...the owner will import the book only because I've asked one copy so I can't cancel it without being a total jackass.

"The contragravity speeder was powered by a mass effect field..."

Um, no it wasn't. The mass effect does not work that way Mr. Dietz. Producing them requires power.

Yeah, I mentioned that awhile back. I guess everything is just powered by "Mass Effect Fields". He also says that the Asari discovered mass effect fields and used them to explore the galaxy. I guess you just sort of ride them like waves.

I thought I was the only one who thought the newest book so far sucks.Writings all over place and it's a very dull preview. It's like he tried to write like Drew Karpyshyn (who likes to visit different settings too), but here it comes off as just bad.So far the interesting stuff seems to be Kai-leng / Anderson , Kahlee and Nick. The rest was so boring I skipped through the pages.

I can't wait till wiki sums up this book so I don't have to buy it.Mass Effect: Retribution too me is so much better than this crap.

Oh, that's right. And they supposedly did so AFTER finding the Citadel. Uh-huh. That makes sense.

18 pages and people are still complaining?

I'm going to buy this book, read it, and enjoy it!

Still complaining? It's hard to find anything to enjoy here. Good luck doing so. I wish I could just decide to enjoy something terrible.

Del Ray released it themselves. And it comes out in a week. It's got to be pretty close to the final manuscript.

...Yeah I think I'm just going to go ahead and write this book off as non-canon.
