Still complaining? It's hard to find anything to enjoy here. Good luck doing so. I wish I could just decide to enjoy something terrible.

That too, I mean I have mixed feelings about the Mass Effect novels and their occasional "what" moments like super-husks dual wielding assault rifles and running faster then krogan, but THIS. This looks like it was written by someone who knew a bunch of ME words but had no idea of what they meant, and also hated Mass Effect and was trying to discredit the series.izmirtheastarach wrote...

...Yeah I think I'm just going to go ahead and write this book off as non-canon.
Or fire it out of a cannon.

Yes, that's what happens when someone writes a book in an established universe and can't be bothered to get even basic facts right. Like, say, what actually happened in the first game?
I'm going to buy this book, read it, and enjoy it!
Well, if you don't actually give a crap about the setting, maybe you will.

No. It's just very poorly written. We're not talking a couple minor errors here. He's constantly getting basic ME stuff wrong.

Like it or not, this book is going to be part of the universe. Just turn your brain off and get the main story from it.
I have already begun the process.

Discussing in boring detail the quality of a piece of fiction is really not all that dramatic.

Really? Because the only major hole right now is Gillian's age, which can be easily reteconned. Everything else is a non-issue.

Plus with the calm between news dumps, how else are we to spend our time on here? I for one prefer this over the Cerberus debates and romance discussions.

Yeah, the holes are fun to point out, but it's the terrible quality of the writing that bothers me the most.

Dude: he doesn't even know how the first game ended. He thinks the Citadel trap was a success.

You either did not read the preview carefully or your just a raging fanboy. Here is another hole for ya, how the heck did Kai Leng who had an injured leg and needed a cane to walk (which he did not have) make a great escape out of an auction room full of other aliens and two security guards? and a bioweapon that specifically took out the Illusive man and Cerberus personal? PLEASE!

I literally self-identify as a raging fanboy, and I think this thing is horrible.

The quarians were a nomadic race who were typically a bit smaller than the average human. As was typical for his kind, the petitioner was dressed in a motley collection of clothing, held together by a variety of straps and metal fasteners. His face was obscured by a reflective visor and breathing apparatus.
No, that's not typical for his kind. They wear entirely sealed environmental suits. Thought to be fair, I don't know if this is just a really bad description of one of their suits or a mistake. Either way...

F*ck you, that's how.
(BTW, this is meant to be taken as a joke)
