@mesina That's the joke; the same guy disgusted by Aria's daughter naked form is now winking at random Asari strippers in bars.

Anyway, the main reason the cereal bit is so funny is because, lore or consistency be damned, Deitz at some point thought that that was a worthwhile scene to include. While as the rest of it can be explained by critical research failure, that scene is just flat out dumb.

or if you look at it from a strategic stand point he could just be messing with her head to get past and through to w/e his mission is and do it casualy instead of drawing attention

No, Dietz specifically notes that Kai Leng is just enjoying himself while he waits for McCann to show up.

Cereals...maybe the writer wanted to give Keai Leng a bit more character.
All poeple have moments of "weird" and smetimes silly tastes.

While reading your posts I actually imagine all ME characters gathering together in Shepard's cabin (yes, Kai Leng included) to laugh at this so-called book and its writer (and eat some cereal with salarian curry, yep).

And who dispassionately slit the throat of Grayson's asari lover, without so much as a glimmer of interest in her nakedness, which was supposedly quite nice to look at even by asari standards.

This is... just terrible. I'll just have to completely disregard everything the book says then. Kai Leng doesn't even sound like the same person anymore. What page is the cereal comment on?

Also, when I was quickly looking through a few pages, I found this character named Cory Kim. Female. Aggressive biotic. Hates batarians. And they keep calling her "Kim" instead of "Cory." It reminds me of my MainShep, and it's kind of creeping me out. xD Edit: Oh, and I see she used to be in an Alliance prison with Kai Leng and is also his ex-lover. Well, all right then. Now I'm just amused.
