Kai Leng.

You are charged guilty for associating with terrorist organization Cerberus and get 5 years in jail

You are charged guilty for killing 100s of aliens do to simple xenophobia and get 25 years in jail.

You are charged guilty for stealing and eating Anderson's cereals and get death punishment.
May your soul rot in hell, you evil bastard.
How can you be so sick to steal and eat cereals?! HOW DARE YOU?!

No. That's why they're referred to generically. Except the human should just be called Udina, since that is canon now.

No, but it looks like the all-human council is non-canon. And if the old council died, the game seems to follow the paragon version (where the humans lead the council but the other races still have seat).

It was implied in ME2 that letting the council die in ME1 results in a human-led council, not an all human council. The game doesn't take notice of whether you were a paragon or a renegade when you let the council die. The all human council was never canon.

I know that. But try to have a renegade Shepard and kill the council (and to make it more clear, have Udina as councilor). The ending speech states that the new council will only consist of humans.

Yes but this isn't carried over to ME2. It doesn't take notice of whether you were paragon or renegade when you let them die- the human-led council has been canon since ME2.

Edit: Zulu explains it pretty well- social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/105/index/5405605/1#5409863

The only thing that made me think the save the council choice was canon, was when he was describing the asari councilor.

Edit; you cant trust Zulu lol:lol:

It never was.  It was only mentioned in that one line of Udina's. Since they didn't follow-up on that (and good thing too, I say, as that was really not very plausible), it's now simply a case of Udina getting a little carried away there for a moment.

I'm of the opinion that those ME1 endings were really a case of hedging their bets in case the game didn't sell well and they didn't get to make the sequels.  So, we got a big speech about kicking Reaper ass and ruling the galaxy or uniting in harmony to give some sort of closure.

That is what I have been saying!

The ultimative renegade ending of ME1 states that the new council will only consist of humans (all human council), yet when you play ME2 it suggest that the new council is human led (humans are leading the council, but the aliens are still there).

Therefor it seems that the all human council is non-canon!

Fair enough, I was simply noting that we've known this prior to ME:Deception (since ME2).

Don't make me laugh, dammit, my fevered striken body can barely hold together as it is!

Seriously though, this thread, and the excerpts, are just gold.

I was actually looking forward to seeing Gillian and Kai-Leng again, since they were the most interesting characters in the books that never made it to the game. Well, for Kai-Leng, I guess I'll just leave him to his cereal eating (seriously? ) and pray he gets back to his old self by Mass Effect 3. But as for Gillian...

I can't just get over how the writer just got over the fact that Gillian is, as you know, an autist. Now, I'm not an expert on the matter, but from what I've read and know, I didn't get the impression you could just "get over it" like you never had it. You can overcome some aspects with a lot of specialized training and counseling, but it stays with you to some degree. Right?

What's that you say? Ah yes! As you know, Mass Effect fields can work miracles these days!

Jokes aside, I've learned the hard way that you just don't do exposition like this. It's boring and alienates both the people who know the stuff you're writting about (making the errors all that much more glaring) and the ones who don't (who get lost and confused anyway). Just weave it naturally, it's not rocket science. You'd think someone who wrote for a living would know this.

And I was so interested in reading this too. :(

I can vouch for Gillian. You can't get rid of a mental syndrome but, you can overcome it with help, education, and hard work. You'll still be autistic and I believe by autistic she has aspergers syndrome but, you can still work around it and still become a successful member of society.

@Iohanna: Yeah, it's doubtful she would have improved as much as she did. While the drugs Cerberus was giving her likely exacerbated her condition, she would have still required quite a bit of professional help, and just working through her own problems.

And this thread is now my favorite, every page is just pure gold.

She just seems like a generic action girl by her intro. I don't know if he expands on her mental state later but I can see it being choppy if so.

"Gillian was a bit unhinged (like a weaker 'crazy') when she lay her eyes on the roly-poly volus in front of her.
'Can I help you, Earth person?' Asked Roly-Poly Ollie. Gillian grunted and threw a singularity at the volus' head. It was strong.
'I will get that Illusive Man if it's the last thing I do!' Gillian screamed and continued to walk along the Presidium."

Since when, Asari believe in god.
