Oh... right. Didn't know that. It's still a more understandable screw up than Gillian's age.1136342t54 wrote...

Miranda has the whole 'I'm perfect' thing going for her. That might have something to do with it. But this Gillian thing is just inexcusable.
Its not the fact that she looks young but she is too old to actually be genetically engineered to have enhanced biotic abilities. That would have had to happen before Humans actually knew much of anything about biotics.

Post op enhancements? Isn't that how they explained a ME1 soldier Shep becoming an Adept in ME2? She could have been given a L5 implant or whatever at anytime.

She seemed to really imply that part of her Genetic enhancements were biotics. Miranda states those as one of her enhancements given at birth. L5 implants were made after she left her father and any other extra implant wouldn't be enough of an enhancement to be given to her that would put her above most human biotics.

Its more understandable I guess since its less noticeable. I didn't even notice it until didymos metioned it.

Discrepancies like that are in all of the novels. I mainly like to read them because of the insight they give on random things, and not how accurate it is to a story that has dozens of different variables.
For example, it gives a point of view directly from the Illusive man... That is very valuable for me to read even if Udina is trolling and saying I am a spacer. The games don't show a point of view from the Illusive Man.

Hmm, asari Council member. I guess this isn't in the "Human Council" canon.
just dont read the books or comics. just ignore them and pretend they don't exist. they always try to retcon the lore, or force a canon storyline (like this whole council fiasco).
its poor writing. simple as that.
MINOR SPOILERS FOR ME3
If the council died in ME1, they are simply replaced with another council which still is made up of Asari, Salarian, Turian (and Human).
BioWare's MASSIVE consequences == Replace NPC X with NPC Y
END SPOILERS.

every time they release a new one.

yeah well you know the expanded universe of Mass Effect ain't really all that big and hard to keep track of, Even the most docile fan can spot these inconsistencies at a glance and a capable editor would have spotted them from miles away.
It's really just laziness and not giving a s*** from Biowares side.

all i can say is it is what it is and i love scifi.
you cant really expect something to continue being 100% perfect even if it does have some nit pickey faults and i admit i have a few of my own but in the end it still fills that gap in me before the game is out
look at the original star wars trilogy for example. everyone agrees esb is the best one out of that and jedi is the one where people are like ok it was good but it had its issues so in the end it was more of a filler movie to please the fans.
thats how i look at me2 as a game. is it great story wise regarding the collectors and human colonies? no but filler wise for fans getting to know the crew is what was great wich imo made up for the lack of story.
everything will have it's pro and cons and im pretty sure when me3 drops march 6th people are going to be split 50/50 on if they loved it or hated it

I love sci-fi as well but seriously there are faults and there are FAULTS.
Some are excusable and some aren't, The Fact that Dietz couldn't be bothered to look up Gillian's age might be excusable to some, But it is completely inexcusable that whoever proofread this at Bioware didn't pick it up, Just because it's sci-fi doesn't mean it should be trash.

I find myself reading it in the voice Steve Coogan used in the Day Today sketch at the swimming pool, where "nobody died..." (which is a bit like an Elcor without the intonation statements).

did you read the full book yet? if not than how can you say its 100% pure trash?
i do agree with you on the gillian age thing but other than that the stuff about kai ling and tim was great
heck even though whole thing of anderson and kaylee was awesome.
allways remember this guy couldve just went into writting the book without even reading the last 3 and i respect what i read so far because its in continuity instead of just some full 360 wth moment.
and heres the gods honest truth. if people ( not just you) always nit pick everything than in the end there going to end up hating everything in the longrun

So... the Batarian ship has a "standard Tantalus drive core"... So after 6 years, the cutting-edge, classified, experimental drive core used in the Normandy is now standard and even used in Batarian ships. Fair enough I suppose.

yeah 6 years after the blackbird flew for the first time all civil airliners had ramjets.

Hey, did you know Tantalus drive cores are standard equipment now? Even old batarian slaver vessels have 'em.
Now that was one I did come across that really annoyed me. By ME2 the Normandy only has a couple of sister ships thats it. I seriously doubt there would be a standard model Tantalus drive core.
