 I'm sure there has been a thread like this before but as we get closer to the release why not bring it back.  

Which Shepard will you use first and why?  Is it because of your Love Interest?  Because you preferred the choices made? Highest level?  All of the above even?

My first playthrough will be my Paragon Male Shep with Ashley as my pairing (did a whole playthrough of ME2 AGAIN to be sure I didn't cheat on her<_<).  Highest Level and did probably every goody two-shoes thing you could imagine, a naive boy I know.

I'm going to use this one mainly because I want immediate or close to immediate LI relief/interaction since we barely got any in ME2.  I want to get to the drama right there.

Second time through will be with Miranda and more of a mix of Paragon/Renegade, had to do a whole playthrough of ME1 with no pairing so I wouldn't be cheating on anyone<_<.

Single pure Paragon is my only save. I am going through the final revision right now. I believe in having one definitive experience. It's going to be awesome.

My first playthrough will be Carl Shepard - a nearly pure Paragon that romanced Ashley in ME1 but changed to Tali after Ashley basically broke up with him.

I plan on going with my first ever created Shepard, but closing my eyes and randomly moving my mouse until I stop and see what the arrow lands on/closest to will probably be the option I go with.

Female, paragon, Infiltrator, Liaramancer....why ? because I love sniping stuff, and this Shepard is my fist one; I discovered ME1 and ME2 with her, so she deserves the first ME3 playthrough

Second is my Adept to see if Femshep can finally Talimance without hacking, an after that, time for my Sentinel Trollshep ^^

Going with my canon Shepard. A paragade who mainly chooses the paragon choices while using renegade responses towards criminals like the slavers who killed his family on mindoir.

My main, who is based off of me, morality and personality is like mine, and he looks like me. After that, my logical renegade soldier, then my pure of heart paragon vanguard. After that, I am thinking my black engineer (geordie shepard), then probably my renegade sentinel, then my paragon adept.

I still have way more chars, but those are my "main" six characters. I have an additional six plus a few here and there.

My Canon Shepard who made the following main decisions

Mass Effect 1
Romaced Ashley: Ashley really grew on me in ME1 and I felt like she was pretty close to my same Ideals, so pursued a romance with her.
Samesh's dead wife given to be reasearched:I thought to myself if I died I wouldn't mind having my body be used
for reasearched to help save lives in the future. Because of this I covinced Samesh to let his wife's body be reasearched.
Worked with Chorban in scaning Keepers:Felt like learning about something we hardly know about was a good
idea, so worked with Chorban and convinced Jahleed to do the same.
Led Garrus down more Paragon path:Felt Garrus was heading down a path where he would hurt a lot of people
in the future, so tried to lead him down a more Paragon path.
Saved all Colonists and let Shiala go:Decided it wouldn't hurt to give the nerve gas a try, and let Shiala go
mainly because I felt she wasn't a danger at the time. Now since I know more about indoctrination not so sure about it.
Let Balak go to save hostages: One of the few choices I feel like I shot myself in the foot for trying to keep my Moral self.
Gave Cerberus data to Shadow Broker agent: Felt like giving data to the agent might hurt Cerberus. Plus if need be I might be able to use that agent for help in future.
Let Rachni Queen go: Letting her go could be a huge gain or huge mistake. Decided to make a gamble and try for the huge gain.
Kaidan was Sacarficed on Vimire:Sent Ashley with Salarians because I felt I needed Kaidan to plant the
bomb, then decided to save Ash because she had Salarians with her so I was saving more lives.
Supported Terra Firma:I'm big on Humanity becoming more independent from Council so I felt Terra Firma could help with that. Plus getting on their good side might make it easier to convince them to help me in future.
Abandoned the Council at the Battle of the Citadel: Felt Soveriegn was the bigger threat, Plus the Citadel fleet would distract the Geth fleet
Chose Anderson to be councilor:I chose Anderson Because I felt Udina would still control most things, but if needed to I could have Anderson still make the final decision.
Mass Effect 2
Stayed loyal to Ashley:I wasn't going to let our dissagreement on Horizon ruin a what we had. Instead I'll work out the problems and try to get her back.
Destroyed Greybox: Too dangerous for Humanity had to destroy it. Plus Kasumi needed to move on.
Saved refinery workers on Zaeed's mission:While I felt like I made a mistake with letting Balak go. With this I
felt there was too many lives at stake to let Zaeed have his stupid revenge. (still like Zaeed though)
Refused offer to rejoin Spectres:Mass Effect 1 I Learned Spectres are just a way for the council to get
away with crap, So I felt I didn't need to be part of that plus being a spectre and working with Cerberus would look really bad.
Left Jacob's Father on the planet: He wanted to be a god well fine lets see how he likes it when he's all alone.
Talked Garrus out of Revenge: Never been fan of revenge felt Garrus might regret it later. Let him shoot Harkin though.
Kept Genophage data: I don't like biological warfare, and felt it would be good barganing chip to Krogan on our side.
Destroyed Geth Heretics:When Legion said that they would share their memories I got worried
that it would affect the True Geth.
Warned Batarian Colonists: only Moral thing I could. (even if there was a choice I would still destroy the relay)
Took Archer's brother away: What he did to his brother was horrible and decided  that the reasearch wasn't worth it.
Sent Cerberus data to Alliance: knew that after the Reapers we would still have Cerberus to take care of. It also gives me brownie points from the Alliance.
Saved Capital city: Might be a mistake, but I couldn't let all those people die.
Kept the Collector Base: Felt that Reapers are the bigger threat and that base could hold information on them

FemShep, Renegade (mostly), Engineer, No romance. Been my 'main' ME char since ME1 and imported all the way up. Not really anti-alien or anti-government etc, more of a 'cut off the foot to cure the infection' type of renegade.

Sacrifices need to be made for the greater good. Poor Wrex.

 I have a canon Shepard. Which is basically who I consider Shepard to be in my experience. Any and all other Shepards I play as are "fakes" more or less. And I really only play Soldier and Vanguard. The other classes are just not my cup of tea.

So I play as default Soldier Sheploo who's mostly Paragon. (Prefer default Shepard's look as it's better detailed and goes well with Mark Meer's voice.) Then I play as ultra Renegade Vanguard Female Shepard mostly for giggles and to see what Renegade is like. There's something oddly amusing about just being a completely cold-harded beyotch. I remember a friend walking in on me as I excuted Shiala. His reaction was basically "Dude what the fuk are you doing?!" Honestly I would be god awful afraid if that character ever came to life. Romanced Liara with my canon Shepard  as she seems to be the default love interest. I mean does make the most sense really since she's basically been inside Shepard's mind. I dunno it's fun to be Captain Kirk too I guess.

That said after playing ME3, I'll probably play the entire series again to get the outcomes I'd like the most. So essentially I'll probably re-establish who my canon Shepard is. Still sort of a work in progress for me. I still struggle over whether I should save Ashley or Kaidan. Hopefully with ME3 I can finally make up my mind.

Seriously when I got to that part of Virmire I quit afterward. For a good day or two I held off playing the game looking up if there was any way to save both and then trying to make up my mind. Damn near ended up restarting the whole game cause I thought I had done something wrong. I didn't realize that Mass Effect was a fairly linear game and I thought conversation options/missions could lead to drastically different or failed situations. Like in Baldur's Gate. Take for instance the Council Trial with Saren. I must have replayed that 2 or 3 times because I thought I kept picking the "wrong" dialogue options and that's why Saren never got convicted.

But yeah there's really only two Shepards I plan on importing. I don't really care about my Insanity Soldier Shepard or any of the others. I may import my ME2 Fail Shepard. I think only Miranda, Zaeed, and Jacob are alive. Be interesting to see how messed up ME3 will be because of it.

My first import will be my "canon" Shepard: male Paragon Soldier with the War Hero and Spacer background and romancing Liara.

Ashley is the VS in this save and it have every DLC launched for ME1 and ME2.

Pretty much a full paragon with a couple of renegade choices thrown in for good measure.

Ashley LI and loyal carry over - although - form what I've heard and seen - I may have to drop her quick smart and move onto Jack.
