Miranda or Ashley

I tend to go with B. I never really liked Ashley that much. I would have never romanced her in my first playthrough if I would have known about Miranda

I do like Ashley, just not enough to consider her a fitting LI for my main Shepard. So, in my replay of ME1 I didn't want to romance her but keep her alive. And was prompty ninja-'manced...Mr Massakka wrote...

"Look at me Shepard, I'm perfect. Do you see how perfect I am? I am absolutely perfect in every way. God I hate being so absolutely perfect. It's such a hard life being perfect in every way, knowing that everyone else knows you're perfect too. Pity me."
Ashley all the way.

She's not deep.
She's annoyed because she was engineered to be "perfect" and hates it because she's unsure if all or any of her achievements, successes or failures are down to her engineering or down to "her".
But none of that matters because it's ALL SHE TALKS ABOUT.
Hence. The. Post.

Besides, consider how much Mordin talks about his work on the genophage, Garrus about his betrayal etc... all characters have primary traits that define them. For Miranda, it's her love of her sister, her genetic enhancements and her dedication to advancing humanity.

This is the central reason that I find her to be one of the deepest characters in the game. She is engineered to be perfect in every way. But she isn't. Furthermore, she struggles with insecurities that reveal themselves the more you speak with her. Her romanced character is very different from her initial character. There are layers beneath the ice queen persona she hides behind. Ashley, on the other hand, doesn't evolve at all. She is the same person post romance as she is pre romance as she is in ME 2. No complication, no layers. She wears who she is on her sleeves.
I find Miranda to be a better fit to Shep but I love Ashley as well. Like Jacob, she doesn't complain or need a crutch. But that is at the expense of complexity. They are who they are.
If your impression is that she only talks about her engineering, then you didn't get very far with Miranda. But hey it's your game. You play it however the hell you want.

I have just talked paragon/neutral and when escaping from the Citadel, there was this nearly kiss, which made it unable to abondon the romance afterwards. Even with rejecting her in the captain's quarters.
Aaaand now I am doing it again...thinking if I should really reject her...

Anyway... Go with all 3, and pick which one you like best. Personally, I prefer MIranda to Ashley.
My 2 canon Shepards are taking options B and C, respectively.

For me I can't decide - Ash though began racist slowly changed and did reveal a sensative side but then she more or less turned me down at Horizon. However she may have changed for ME3 and was always first love. Miranda on the other turned out to be a deep person beneath her ice queen exterior and though she always had that practical side to her when she "I quit to TIM" has made me split between the two. I do hope she doesn't end up like the rest of Cerberus. I can see a mission where we rescue her and Jacob from bad Cerberus

How can you have two canon Shepards? Surely, by the very definition of canon, you can only have one "canon" playthrough.AgitatedLemon wrote...

Do A and B with two versions of the same Shepard. you can do that you know?Big R Deezel wrote...
with ME3 coming out soon i decided to play through ME1 and 2 again. the only thing i havent decided on is the romance. ive come up with three different choice but dont know what to choose. what do yall think?
A) Romance ashley in ME1 and no one in ME2, staying faithful to ashleyRomance no one in ME1 and Miranda in ME2, staying faithful to Miranda, or
C) Romance ashley in ME1 then romance miranda in ME2 and see how everything plays out with the consequences that will aparently play a roll in ME3 for not staying faithful to one of them.
Let me know what yall think.

I have two canon Shepard's and several versions of each. They're siblings because they're both Spacers and I used them and otehr Shepard's to do all the romances several times.Shifty-looking Chicken wrote...

They're both the same (Male, Sentinel, romanced to Miranda), aside from a few distinct choices.

I can't bring myself to cheat on a girl, or romance someone who thought cerberus was a good idea.

Not talking with Ashley at all does it, IIRC. I made the mistake of talking with her on the Normandy...once. But as it is, my Shepard is relieved that he can treat Horizon as a break-up and doesn't need to confess that he never really loved her but just didn't manage to push her away at Ilos.Mr Massakka wrote...

Miranda, though...she's the type to remove all thoughts of other women from Cyrus Shepard's mind.
