Maybe if BioWare outfitted him with a wizard hate and gave him the Staff of Ridiculous Name he's be accepted by these RPG purists.
As one of those "RPG purists" you're no doubt talking about, I don't give a frak what Vega looks like. He's a big, tough-looking marine. I accept him as such.
All I care about is:
A) does his outfit look more appropriate for a superhero or runway model than for a military officer?
and
If the answer to both of these is "No" then I have no problem with him in the game. And from what little footage we've been shown, I'm not going to have a problem with him.
Even better, the description of him sounds like a character I'll want to hang around with too. Bonus!
and fwiw, I'v enever played a Gears or War game, nor do I have any intention to.

Indeed. He looks weird to me at first glance, but it *is* refreshing that he looks different, and I have no problem imagining that a certain Louise Shepard, Soldier, may go for him.Chris Priestly wrote...
How about "Vega's character design to be a different look from the other members of the party, none of whom have the "large muscular human" look. Not having everyone look alike in ME3 is considered a good thing by most people."?
Not everything has to do with other video games. Sometimes, a character looks teh way he/she/it does because it makes sense to the character and teh story.

These threads are incredibly douchey.
Yeah the critics are even more douchy than Vega being a douche... Ironic isn't it?

From his last name I'm guessing he's latino, so that's probably his natural skin tone.Rezources wrote...
He's there to shatter your ignorant misconceptions of faux-hawked, spray-tanned dudes.

Man, they've got you by the balls, don't they? You probably don't even realize how full of marketing B.S. you sound anymore. OF COURSE vega's designed to appeal to the mouth-breathing masses that BiowEAre is so desperate to sell zomg 10 million copies to. Just like Miranda's catsuit, Ashley's ****-over and AEWSOME BUTTON!!1!1Chris Priestly wrote...

Here's an idea for diversity: How about they model the next character after you, Chris, and he can be a 400 lb. sphere that sits at his desk kissing corporate ass and spouting meaningless talking points all day. Deal?

I have to say the roid look he has going on is right out of GoW. Xbox is having some kinda sale for GoW and they have a pic of some GoW chatacter and every time i see it i kee thinking it is Vega.
Chalk up another person that can't be taken seriously.
The list keeps on growing, now sit down.

Well aren't you a horrible c.unt? Although in saying that I love to see what the scum of the internet has to say, it is interesting to see at the very least.
Man, I can't wait for Vega and Mass Effect 3, it's going to be AWESOME!!

LOL what? Vega is a soldier, Improving his body is something he SHOULD be doing... I'm not sure what to say apart from "does he make you feel inadequate?".

Aww... was trying out that p90x too hard for ya?
Unless you people have an actual reason to not like the guy you all sound like sad people that are made that they have someone who doesn't look like a carbon copy of all the other guys in the game.

I wonder if some of you people act like this in real life too. "Wow, that guy has got some huge arms. What an ****! I hate him!!"
I'd hazard a yes to that, saying "looks like he's on roids"... no, a proper diet while having the determination to "find my limit" yes, roids no. just because we are nerds doesn't mean we have to be fat or skinny, start low and stay focused BSN mates
