I was apprehensive of him at first, but liking him more and more after seeing the interview with Jnr and more of his dialogue.

Another one of those rare topics we actually agree on. I like having another Shep Jr. joining the squad, and hey, he was Jack Bauer's sidekick.

I can only hope Vega's loyalty mission involves finding his wife.

Was it confirmed that he is gay or bisexual? People seem to be throwing that out there pretty regularly but I don't know where that started.

Hmm I'd have thought in 5 pages someone would have posted some comparison pics for those of us who have never played a Gears of War game.
Oh well, I will go look some up and return with my opinion lol.

I wonder if some of you people act like this in real life too. "Wow, that guy has got some huge arms. What an ****! I hate him!!"
I'd hazard a yes to that, saying "looks like he's on roids"... no, a proper diet while having the determination to "find my limit" yes, roids no. just because we are nerds doesn't mean we have to be fat or skinny, start low and stay focused BSN mates
Or you can hit the ground running and never stop. That's what works for me. In this day and age, there's no excuse that anyone who doesn't have a genetic disorder should be over/under weight or in horrible physical condition. People live decades longer than previous generations, why spend that time getting old when you feel like s**t in your twenties?

But I'll move foreward assuming that nobody does have this statistic because I doubt there has ever been such a survey. Have you ever heard of someone getting GoW because they thought it had exquisite character design?
I certainly haven't and I also have no reason to believe that the "shooter crowd" will flock to any game because just one character looks similar to one a character in another game they play (does anyone?). If anything, the "shooter crowd" is drawn to good looking gameplay. And improved gameplay is better for not only shooter fans but also "the rest of us".

No - but it hasn't been confirmed either way.
They said new characters for same sex relationships - so far Vega is the only new character we've seen.
Odds are good. Not to mention it would totally fly in the face of 'stereotypical GoW / COD soldier'
Unless I missed something form COD and GOW. In which case, ignore that that last line.

Come on, we all know that Dom and Marcus had something going on.

I'm actually pretty sure that they gave Dom a wife in GoW 2 so people would stop accusing him of being homosexual.
Dom did that to try and convince himself and it didn't work.
"Bro, these two dudes really like to hang out and kill stuff and buy parsimmons at Whole Foods together."
"No bro, Dom is totally married to a girl. He respects the sanctity of marriage and is a loving and faithful husband."
"That totally meshes with my demographic bro."

I was pretty optimistic from the leak that I'd like him, after seeing that scene I know he'll be a new favorite.

Of course, looking at BSN's romance section, you might think Vega was actually aimed at romance-obsessed fangirls. Shows how out-of-step BSN tends to be with the rest of the gaming world.

This way, as long as Jimmy is in your squad, and some heavy blunt thing falls on someone, problem solved!

Despite everyone's hatred towards GoW without even playing it, all of them might "look" tough but they all have so very unique characters...and we love or dislike them based on the way they act and their personalities. (I personally love Cole because he's so cheery all the time even in dark times but he can act very serious when things are tough.) Vega's appearance doesn't mean anything to me. If he's a boring soldier man like Jacob and Kaidan were to me, then I'll probably dislike him. If not, then I'll probably like him.
I love Gears of War. It is perhaps the least sophistocated game series in terms of writing substance in my list of loved game series, but it is very polished and really sets the bar for TPS games.
Gears of War 3 was the deepest, but that doesn't mean much if you weren't already invested in the two before.
