After reading that first comment I went on to their website to search for MGS: HD Collection and indeed its not there. They took pre-orders and then couldn't deliver the game. Anyone else worried?

This very thing happened to Virgin and also Woolworths, and they both closed down very quickly afterwards, so this could be a problem yeah.  Not a fan of Game, but to lose them off the highstreet would be a real shame.  And on ME3, getting Collectors editions if you've preordered (as I have) could be an issue reading between the lines.  Can you get the Collectors edition anywhere else in the UK?

I'm no fan of GAME either, but unfortunately couldn't find the CE anywhere else in the UK. As I posted earlier in the thread Gamestop were selling them here but they took pre-orders and then shut down every shop in Northern Ireland, the staff turned up to work one day and were told the shop is closed down. I passed the shop yesterday and the windows are covered in sale signs followed by a big sign saying they are closed down.

I've got a bad feeling about this...

Not that i give two ****s about this DLC crap but why is it exclusive to UK residents? That's just ridicules.

I seriously hate GAME.co.uk. Ever since EA took over, the Collector's Editions has always been exclusive to them!

I expect the ME3 preorders will be ok, seeing as GAME updated their website this morning with the preorder bonus info. But i'd be suprised if GAME survive beyond this year. They've been struggling for a long time. There's hardly ever any new stock in, just loads of (bloody expensive) preowned. That story about Gamestop is pretty tough though. Terrible for the staff.

As much as I hate GAME this is bad news for not only myself, because I pre-ordered the CE with them, but for the employees who will be out of work.

Fingers crossed everything will be ok and those of us who pre-ordered with them can get the CE, because there isn't anywhere else where we can get it in the UK.

If/When they close down thats 600 stores across the UK with I'd say atleast 5 jobs in each store. Thank you again bankers.

As long as they don't close down shop before March, we're good right? (I pre-ordered back in June) What happens to them after release day i couldn't care less about as they're a pretty sucky retailer.

Otherwise they'd be a bunch of UK Collector's Editions laying around for nothing...

You do realise the collapse in the financial sector is only part of the problem with the current slow economic growth, the other key players in the collapse being the previous Government and the public.

If you've already pre ordered, I would think EA wouldn't want to miss out on the profits from PS3, Xbox360 and PC via hard copies, so they'll make another arrangement to ensure that the pre orders are honoured, re allocated or at worst available elsewhere, if Game  can't supply the product.

They where the same on the preorder bonus map for skyrim yet even though I preordered and my bother bought it a few days after release without a preorder we both got the map from them.

Publishers will send the codes and promotional information with the games themselves most likely, if you've bought online then you'll probally recieve one by email a few days after they've sorted though them...now if only they'd stop this stupid store exclusive preorder crud leaving so many things dependant on where you live.

Indeed, keeping informed of the whole thing seems to be the issue though. People who pre-ordered Final Fantasy 13-2 and MGS: HD collection are only finding out this week that Game aren't selling the game or are having issues.

i saved the N7 edition to my wish list a few weeks back, then when i went to buy it the site was down,
so i went to my wish list and purchased it through there.
3 -4 days after it was back up on the site? i hope my copy is still valid

i still received a preorder email, an order email, AND order number, so thats some reassurance? 

i hoping that aslong as i have the order number my copy is still reserved :/

Unless you get an email stating that your order has been cancelled, you should be fine.

Yes... Doesn't bode well. I just hope they can manage the Collectors Edition I ordered from them.

Also I think it's a shame. Been shopping with them since the 90's. For many years they were the only video game store for miles around where I live and they used to give good deals (and great incentives with the reward card scheme too). There service has unfortunately declined in years past and they've run the business into the ground themselves, just recently in fact they updated the website to an atrocious new social design that caused many problems and likely lost alot of custom.

Hearing they won't be able to fulfill pre-orders is the last straw. I was going to get Max Payne 3 and Silent Hill Downpour from them but I'll likely go with Shopto or Zavvi if they can't be trusted.

I always get my games from shopto.net as they're usually cheaper & always come day before release but for ME3 I had to go with Game in order to get the CE now this **** happens ... very worried

Nothing is going to happen to Game before March.

They also now have the ME3 DLC listed on their site, so take that as a good sign.

Sounds like you're contradicting yourself.

It's not exclusive to the UK, here in Ireland, the Republic that is, GAME have exclusivity also.
