first of all.. im sorry if this is posted in the wrong section :innocent:

so i was looking for games n would like to play a game like mass effect with same depth of information and with the same time.. ie: future..  a rpg would also be fine... as long as it does not include dragons and orcs :P... a game with a good storyline would be great!! also the game should be recent.. not like a game built in 2002!! i knw the parameters are hard... but it woud be great if i could play a game like mass effect again!!

thanks
i searched the internet n tht wasnt really anyhelp... so i turned to the bioware community!!<3

You can't just play Mass Effect? Seems to fit the parameters well...

Fallout 3, though there isn't any love interest side plot though. Great customization and story though.

Alpha Protocol? Although it plays like **** it has the similar dialogue system.

Fallout:New Vegas

Also there's a game called Mass Effect 3 coming out soon. It's obviously appealing to Jersey Shore fans with Vega though. <trollface>

You may want to ask a mod to move this to the off-topic forum as well.

Deus ex Human revolution is fantastic.
it is a futuristic rpg with (overall) amazing graphics and a great story and characters, and an epic soundtrack and voice acting.
the whole game is based around choice, for example at one section you have to get into a police station: you can talk to someone and convince them to let you in, be aggresive and shoot your way in, or sneak your way into a secret entrance via the sewers and then remain undetected while in the police station.
you also get to choose what dialog to say, plus your character actually talks too ;)
it is in first person, unless you take cover, which puts you in third person.
some sections are open world and give you a city too explore.
there are main and side missions and is about 30+ hours if you do everything.
hope this helped :)
p.s link to trailer:

You could always go back and play KOTOR 1 or 2.

I'm guessing that OP has already played Mass Effect and is looking for more like it. I am in the same boat. I particulalry love the "pause and play" element of ME. I would LOVE to find another game like it. But I also don't like the fantasy (orcs and elves) genre :(

Try Star Control 2 or the Ur-Quan Masters, it's basically the grandfather of ME from 1992. Dont diss the game by it's graphics and year, this game is fantastic, the story is excellent and the mood is just right! It's more of an adventure game than rpg tough. Travel through hostile space, make contact with over 20 exotic alien species, gather allies and lost technology in your quest to try to free Earth and the known galaxy from the slavery under the fiendish Ur-Quan.

You can download it free, just google the name.

In my view while I prefer the Mass Effect series out of my own personal preference; it's pretty hard to argue that in terms of sci-fi RPG experiences the Deus Ex series is easily the best (overall) and most influential Sci-Fi RPG series of all time. The Mass Effect soundtrack in particular "Noveria" sounds right out of Deus Ex and Casey Hudson even raved about DX:HR on twitter.... is there any greater recommendation?

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a prequel set before the first game done with modern technology and it really is an excellent starting point if you haven't tried it. I'd start with DX:HR first and then play the original with the New Vision mod installed. Epic.

We'll never have another Mass Effect. Not even from BioWare, considering how they've changed.

It seems like Deus Ex: Human Revolution is what you might be looking for. RPG, science fiction and it's set in a very expanded universe. Also, love interests.

This was a good one. I hate the game engine and hope no one ever uses it again, but the themes, setting, and art of this game are top notch. I look forward to the next one since it did very well last year.

Mass Effect is pretty unique when all is said and done. I mean yes you will find elements and bits and pieces that are similar in other series but you won't find anything that is like Mass Effect as a whole. Basicaly Mass Effect is what a Sci-Fi RPG should be. The closest thing I can think to it is KOTOR but the OP wanted something more recent and really you can almost see Mass Effect as KOTOR's offspring in a sense because working on KOTOR is kind of what inspired Bioware to make Mass Effect.

KotOR

Or it's MMO version, the old republic, if you're into that. I'm spending some awesome hours in that game.

edit: And it's brand spanking new. And lots of ME fans are playing, on my server we chat FemShep all the time... The trooper class has her voice. :P

Nothing really, Mass Effect Trilogy is quite unique, there is nothing else out there like it, which is what makes it great. Deus Ex, AlphaProtocol, KOTOR, meh. But these are probably the closest youre going to get.

Deus Ex: Not if you mainly enjoy combat; the scarcity of ammunition/energy is absolutely ridiculous - you can get a silenced, auto-aim assault rifle with a 50 round mag in the 2nd chapter, but you'll be unable to fire it because you have to save the 2ish mags you may get for the difficult fights.
Fallout 3: Not without Broken Steel DLC. It's also more of a wide open sandbox, similar to Elder Scrolls. Also, arguably, NV is much better (seemed to me that half of F3 was DC subway tunnels); conversely Fallout 3, at least, gave you a nominal reason for why you should care about the plot.
Alpha Protocol: Rather heavy on stealth, and combat isn't all that fun (you'll probably find yourself always using the pistol). Oh, and I almost forgot about the annoying mini games and not-very-fun save system.
