Legion, Miranda and even Thane or Mordin would be a better choice for the team in ME3.

Can't say I agree with Thane. If I may be completely honest, he isn't super important. And, given Mordin's material in ME3, I would say he's better off as he is, as much as I don't like it.

Legion and Miranda, if they weren't already solidified as side characters the way they are now, would have made much more sense to join the squad, at least after you finish up their set of missions.

I agree.  I mean, I'm a fan of both Tali and Garrus, and I fully expected this sort of thing to happen, but seriously come on.  At least Legion, since he had so little screen time.  At least.

Especially since one of the new squadmates is... yeesh.  Bioware, this is exactly the opposite of what most people wanted.  I mean, I probably won't care (and even come to like it--gasp!) if it's done really well, but for the time being, whyyyyy? *whine*

I'll be bitter if it's just a small amount of interaction, regardless of how good it is.

From the leaked script, I think that ME3 does a good job of handling Legion, actually. When all's said and done, I don't think his role would really have been improved by making him a permanent squadmate.

As for that spoiler squadmate you mention, I have no opinion one way or the other on it. Probably won't use it much myself.

It isn't a matter of how good his content is (I have no doubtd about that), or how his role is improved. Rather, it's more a question of what he does after his content is completed. Something other than "I'll keep in touch" and canned dialogue, ala LotSB ("Shepard, I'm glad you came")

Oh, I know.  Tears were shed.  Moar Legion =/= better Legion, but nonetheless, I'll miss my brobot.

Dunno.  The power loadout looks pretty sweet, and the squadmate has wonderful potential for hilariously awkward in-field commentary.  But that doesn't save it from being kind of a dumb idea.

I think the point of that particular spoiler squadmate is to be the designated tech character for those who fail at Suicide Missions. They can't let a player not have a chance at a somewhat balanced squad, after all.

However, for those of us who didn't fail at the Suicide Mission, that squadmate does come off as a little redundant and unnecessary.

Indeed.  The squad, at least, covers all your bases, even if it covers some a little more heavily than others.  Really, I'm starting to hope the hypothesized DLC squadmate is in the vanilla game, while the actual DLC squadmate is someone new, possibly a backup sentinel for those of us who accidentally Kaidan.

All the Kaidan.  Is that bad?

However, for those of us who didn't fail at the Suicide Mission, that squadmate does come off as a little redundant and unnecessary.

Not sure.  This new squadmate may be better for certain situations than Tali and vice versa.  Tali's forte is still fighting directly against synthetics (I think), and this new squadmate seems to be more about pissing off and distracting your enemies while you sneak around behind them and shoot them in the head.  They might actually work together quite well.

Or everything will suck and be ruined forever.  The only way to know for sure is to play it, though.

Ah yes; everything sucking and being ruined forever. We can't discount that as an option, can we?

On the BSN?  It happens at least three times daily.

Yes, I understand that several people have cancelled their pre-orders at least a dozen times by now.

Agreed Admiral...sniff who else will start doing the robot when my back is turned?! :crying: I'll miss my brobot dearly. I'll also miss my mad scientist with sex ed advice and my favortie blood thristy tank bred too....sniff...Why bioware? Why couldn't they be squadmates? WHY???

As for the spoiler squadmate.....I will probably never use em once unless it's a completely new person that wasn't in the leaks

I really don't want to spoil anything from the leak, so I won't, but there is a way that Legion can basically survive the Suicide Mission no matter what. So the inclusion of the spoiler squadmate is even more pointless. Really, that squadmate is one of the worst things I've read in the script. It combines the worst elements of Miranda's character and basically writes her and Legion out of the plot in favor of it.

Good thing I preordered 100 copies and cancel one everytime I am annoyed!

Sadly she is not. Hopefully there is a Lotsb style side mission though. One hopes.

So far, Bioware has confirmed that this is Shepards last story.  I love that the future may hold potential like an MMORPG, new single player games with new main characters, and there's a lot of untapped potential for bringing past squadmates back to do their own stories.  Examples: does Jack follow through on getting back at Cerberus?  Zaeed retake control of the Blue Suns?

There's TONS of potential for games based on the existing characters, and even more for completely new stories and characters.  I trust that EA / Bioware won't waste such a great universe, as long as gamers win on the quality (no cash in games!), they'll win on the money side!

As with the other ME2 squaddies (except Garrus and Tali), if she is in your squad at all it doesn't look like it will be for long.

I don't want Garrus and Tali. I'm done with them. I didn't even use them in ME2 except when I had to.

I want more Legion. I got him for 2 missions. Shortchanged. I want Miranda, and Kasumi. Kasumi had the best power in the game.

But now I'm stuck with some newbie, who I already want to space, and the person who betrayed me on Horizon.

i dont understand why bioware is just practically sucking up to all the ME1 fans so much. i honestly likes me2 companions better, and getting tired of all this "o but they weren't the original" crap. garrus is cool but tali...eh i dont know she just pisses me off a lot. i dont hate her but she is just irritating how she's just dying to bang you. and then im always like **** you dot have a face! lol. i much prefer miranda to ashley. ashley just never really did anything for me. liara is awsome. i like wrex and grunt equally. kaiden aint here anymore(for me). its just annoying because i really liked a lot of the me2 characters

This is total BS. I just lost most of my enthusiasm for this game. ASHLEY on the squad but no Miranda?? Seriously? The ONE original squadmate who turned their back on Shepard when he was with Cerberus. There's no way he would even want her on his ship.

The fate of all sentient life in the galaxy is at stake and he has someone at his side who has PROVEN that if it comes down to it and he has to go against Alliance Command's orders she will not stay loyal to him. He isn't that stupid.

Its a good try guys. But people are now focust on the new (well old new for spoiler fanatics) Prothy character. I would love Miri to be a squadie but seeing as Ashley stole her look for ME3, I doubt that Bioware will make Miri into a squadie (they dont like the ME2 romances for some sick reasons).

Even though I know it won't happen, I have to support this. The only squad I'll ever need. The game better be ****ing amazing if it hopes to make me forget their loss.

It makes ZERO sense for anyone to go into combat and put their life in the hands of someone they know they can't trust. No one who has ever BEEN in combat would willingly do that. The Alliance is run by politicians and fools. Shepard knows that first hand. He gave his LIFE for the alliance and saved their butts numerous times and they rewarded him by grounding him. So he has to know that there is a very real possibility he will need to go against their orders some day.

Ashley didn't hesitate to choose the Alliance over Shepard. If I were contemplating going against Alliance orders and Ashley was standing behind me it would seriously raise the hairs on the back of my neck. With so much at stake, what intelligent person would put themselves in that situation? Miranda had to make the same choice and chose Shepard without hesitation.

I think not having Miranda on the team opens a great potential to write a story arc running offscreen parallel to Shepard's for her, with a few intersections where you can interact. If there is such a thing, I may come to prefer Miranda not being on the team. On the Normandy, she'll never be more than Shepard's follower. I want her to be more.

ME3 is the end of Shepard's story, but there is always the option for spin-off titles ;)
I can see her overthrowing TIM and taking Cerberus in new directions, even if those directions are still closer to black ops than legit R&D.  Would be fun running missions for her as one of her agents.
