What's the big idea of collector's edition if it's no longer exclusive, part of the reason you want CE is that you want something that you can't have through other means o.0?
Season pass idea is great with online multipayer games especially when they bring something new to the game, if it's used to unlock all available things from the series I am just seeing it's used wrong. ME series has been designed for single player from the beginning, multiplayer is only extra feature in ME 3.

As long as a POP DLC package includes all of the pre-order DLC and merchandise-associated DLC then I'm in.
The CE DLC doesn't need to remain exclusive, but it should be not be a part of the POP DLC package and should cost the difference between the regular and CE editions of ME3 and include digital versions of all of the CE non-DLC content where practical.

EDIT: You know, while I highly doubt Bioware would do it so long after the game has come out, I'd suggest doing this for ME2 as well. I managed to scrounge up all the various DLC exclusives for it, even though I got the game 7 months after it first came out. Took a lot of time and effort and, of course, money. Would I mind if they suddenly decided to release it as a pack now for a cheap price?
Nope. I made the choice to go out of my way for this stuff and spend my money that way. I don't feel entitled to it over those who choose not to because of various financial situations. It's not like everyone has an equal amount of money to spend (especially in this economy) for premium content. I'm blessed that I did.
An analogy. HDTVs were VERY expensive when they first came out. Only the rich could afford to purchase them. Because they did, the returns to the manufacturers encouraged them to lower the cost for everyone else after a while. Now lots of other people can afford them and enjoy the same quality.
But these rich people were the ones who invested originally. They spent the extra money to have these HDTVs before everyone else could.
Should they have a say in restricting the product from others who didn't?

so will the season pass price be for all ME3 DLC that will be released? or is this for just a discount on the DLC?
Both. A season pass is where you pay upfront for all future DLC content, and in exchange, the pass price is cheaper than it would be to pay for each individual DLC. Once you have the pass, you do not pay any additional price when the content comes out. You just download it.
Buying the pass is the paying for all DLC to be released, plus it is a discout.

Now first let me say, being a huge fan of Mass Effect I'll likely play any DLC they put out. So a "pass" or not they'll get some more money from me.
The thing with a season pass though is you have to wait for more DLC to come out. For some people after they beat the game let's say 3 or 4 times. Will they still care or have the interest to play the DLC later on?
I bring this up because as someone who played Gears Of War 3 I only got it for the campaign and for casual MP purposes. I didn't buy any of the skins or the maps. That doesn't hold my interest. I also didn't buy the DLC RAMM'S Shadow because my interest or hype to play the Gears had faded at the end of October.
Someone brought up LA.Noire. I actually brought the pass, funny thing happen to me though. After beating the actual game, I found it somewhat difficult to stay interested in doing the DLC cases that came out later on. I actually didn't even do the Reefer Madness case (which I believe was the last DLC case)
I'm only speaking for myself, but I can certainly see a certain number of people not wanting to get a season pass, because once they beat the game they'll be done with it and move on.
Like I said, just a counter outlook.

That's kind of the point. They want you to buy it at the height of your interest when the game comes out. Say you normally buy the first three DLCs for a game instead of all four. With a season pass, they get you to pay for 3.5 of the DLC packs and then they don't risk losing you in the later releases before they get your money. If you end up playing all four, good for you. It was a smart buy. If you get bored and barely touch the later DLCs, then hey, at least you didn't pay full price and at least the publisher got you to buy something before you decided not to buy the third or fourth DLCs down the road.

If there was a one time price to buy all DLC bio would release for ME3, yeah I would buy it. I don't like a season pass though, what if all the good stuff comes out in a diff season?
Not sure if you are joking, but Season Passes usually cover a game's entire DLC schedule, so no major releases are missed by buying it.

I suppose it will greatly depend on each individual's trust in the company that made the game. In Bioware's case, I'd say they're one of the stronger companies in terms of quality post-release DLC. Sure they've made mistakes (Pinnacle Station), but they also do seem to learn from them.
Also, it will depend on the SP to MP ratio for the pass. What do you get more of? In GOW's case, the MP would probably be more abundant (I've never played it). LA Noire, well...only SP, so...yeah.
ME3 is a little more...ambiguous. The MP is essentially an unknown until it is played by the masses, for both us and Bioware. They don't know how popular it will be yet, so they don't know how much time and money to invest in it beyond the standard patches and bug fixes.

The problem I have with Season Pass is you do not know what DLC you will be getting or more to the point what quality they are (for example you have names of four DLC but no details listed for a Pass). For me who only ever buys story based DLC when throw in item packs into the mix of what your purchasing instead or pure story ones. Now in theory this would be optional so in that regard I have no major issues with it and will just continue to buy story only DLC instead of Season Pass. The only issues would arise is they used Season Pass instead of separate DLC which we have now as a replacement. Or if the prices or separate DLC increased or was (vastly) more expensive.
Season Pass is a purchase plan to buy DLC ahead. It can't be the only means for receiving it as the incentive is that it has to be cheaper than buying the DLC separate.
I think you are thinking more in terms of a bundle. But generally, you are able to get separate DLC if you want, despite a season pass offering.

So...is this season's pass thing similar to Gear's, where you pay 50 bucks for it only to get DLCs at a reduced price, or a one time fee and get all dlcs without any further costs?
GoW3 season pass was bogus. Just saying.
Maybe Bioware should release random cruddy weapon skins and charge it for more than the game too.
GoW 3 season pass was $30 and that paid for all DLC with no further charges when they came out. You just download them. It works like any other season pass. LA Noire worked the same.
No, Gears Season Pass only reduced the DLC price by 33%. You didn't read their forums where people who didn't read the fine print were raging about not getting 3 free dlcs? Maybe it got changed because of all the negative reaction, but when the game came out that was how the Pass worked.
EDIT: In case you don't believe me,
www.joystiq.com/2011/08/29/gears-of-war-3-gets-30-season-pass-first-dlc-in-november/
Says the Season Pass reduces the DLC price by a third (33%)

I bought it when it was released. I have gotten all the packaged content released without a single charge since. The pass costs 2400 points, which is $30. That is what I paid on day one. I don't even understand what you think the GoW 3 season pass granted. Why would you get free DLC? It is supposed to have you pay for all DLC prior to their releases for a discounted price, not receive free DLC.
I got exactly what it said I would get, all the DLCs released following the Season Pass for a total cost lower than buying them separately.
EDIT: it says right in the title of that article what I said. $30 pass, reduced price DLC.
What the heck do you think I am saying? Reduced price and discounted price are the same thing.

Drop the word "season", otherwise it might give the beancounters the idea to charge us to play every 3 months.
I suppose. Rockstar called theirs the Rockstar Pass. The name isn't so important as the details. I think the word "Season" was thrown in because it means that it covers the currently planned DLC release season, as in all the ones they can currently guarantee they will make. Following that time, they may make new DLC plans and more releases which wouldn't be covered by the original pass. I think Gears 3's pass covers all content through about a year, but they don't actually have anything planned after that, thus, 2012 would be the DLC season.

It would be unreasonable to expect anybody to put down $30 (say) for a set of DLCs, when nobody knows how many there will be or the content of each.
