I like the idea in concept, but to put down $30 for (say) 2 years worth of DLC, Bioware would have to outline exactly how many DLCs would be released, and what kind of content was in each.
It would be unreasonable to expect anybody to put down $30 (say) for a set of DLCs, when nobody knows how many there will be or the content of each.
You do get told before buying what the planned releases are. The point of a season pass is for the publisher to get the most out of a DLC plan. The plan is what we buy into. LA Noire, Gear of War 3, Uncharted. They all sold us a list of guaranteed DLCs.

^This.
I would say "No" to the pass. Just how much would DLC would they say they release and could they stick to it? I've seen DLC prices vary widely. What's to stop them from saying that DLC #1 is $3.99 but DLC #2 is worth $9.99?
Also, what a company may plan (release X amount of DLC in Y amount of time) to release may not be what they can live up to. (I'm looking at you, DAO!)
The pass is a bad idea.

See my post above yours. Season implies that it is planned out. You aren't being asked to buy blindly and that would be bad for the publisher to not know if they are giving you 2 or 10 downloads for the $30-$40 you pay them. There is always a plan for these passes people!

There wouldn't be a Season Pass for ME1 DLCs, that's for sure.
ME2's? Yeah, it could've worked.
If they keep ME2's DLC plans for ME3(a new DLC every month for the better part of a year, then sporadic DLC launches from that point forward), a Season Pass would be marvelous.

As for the CE DLC, I'm kinda torn. On one hand, part of the reason you buy the CE is to get these exclusive items, and the tiny five-year-old within me would sulk that my super-special toy that I got wouldn't be so super-special anymore, and that I paid quite a bit for these awesome things. Unless the CE exclusive DLC is (collectively) higher-priced to non-CE-buyers than it was for me, I'll probably have an issue with it. But if part of the CE price becomes a sort-of pre-season-pass, then I'll be all for it.

The only DLC I will buy is mission/story/new character DLC. That is it. There's also a good chance I'll never play the multiplayer bits, seeing as how I currently don't have Xbox Live Gold, no desire to get it again, and even if I did, the only person I'd want to play with lives in my house so I'd have to buy a second copy of the game.
I also think season passes are silly because, yeah, they can save you a bit of money. But on the other hand, I'm not going to essentially pay for DLC before I even know what it's going to be. I'd rather wait and decide if it's something I want or not. I have not paid for a season pass for a single game yet.

So...is this season's pass thing similar to Gear's, where you pay 50 bucks for it only to get DLCs at a reduced price, or a one time fee and get all dlcs without any further costs?
GoW3 season pass was bogus. Just saying.
Maybe Bioware should release random cruddy weapon skins and charge it for more than the game too.
GoW 3 season pass was $30 and that paid for all DLC with no further charges when they came out. You just download them. It works like any other season pass. LA Noire worked the same.
No, Gears Season Pass only reduced the DLC price by 33%. You didn't read their forums where people who didn't read the fine print were raging about not getting 3 free dlcs? Maybe it got changed because of all the negative reaction, but when the game came out that was how the Pass worked.
I bought it when it was released. I have gotten all the packaged content released without a single charge since. The pass costs 2400 points, which is $30. That is what I paid on day one. I don't even understand what you think the GoW 3 season pass granted. Why would you get free DLC? It is supposed to have you pay for all DLC prior to their releases for a discounted price, not receive free DLC.
I got exactly what it said I would get, all the DLCs released following the Season Pass for a total cost lower than buying them separately.
EDIT: it says right in the title of that article what I said. $30 pass, reduced price DLC.
What the heck do you think I am saying? Reduced price and discounted price are the same thing.
Bro, did you read what you wrote yourself? Why you trying to troll me when I quoted your post?
Here, let me highlight what you wrote so your fail troll attempt is clarified.
You wrote "...that paid for all DLC with no further charges when they came out..." and yet in this last post you said " it says right in the title of that article what I said. $30 pass, reduced price DLC."
Your implying that once you get the Season Pass, the 4 future DLCs would 'be of no further charge", AKA FREE.
Obvious troll is obvious....son, I am disapoint.
Back on topic, what I mentioned was if Bioware was going to do a Season Pass, I hope they don't pull the con that Epic did with Gow3.

Season Passes could actually net you those mission DLCs.
I haven't seen any game with a season pass that has season pass exclusive DLC. You can buy it seperate too, you just pay more. I don't really see what the difference is by me buying it seperate then.
Also, I can get the same or better discounts than the season pass gives me anyway by buying Microsoft Points cards when they go on sale. That makes buying individually cheaper in the end, because I didn't have to also pay for bits of DLC I may not want.

As much as I like the GoW3 Season Pass I'm a little upset that there are still things that are not included in it, i.e. weapon skins, avatar items, etc...

Can't see why anyone would oppose this... If you don't want to get the season pass you can choose to buy what DLC you want individually, but for those who know they are going to get most/all of the DLC released for ME3, you will be saving youself some money as these usually save between 25-40% from buying them all individually.
Supported!

Someone likes to misuse the word troll.
$30 pass, reduced price DLC. That was a shortened headline version of what I explained already. I bolded the simple and true part since you seem to be getting confused.
Step 1: Pay $30 for Season Pass to cover the costs of DLCs. (FYI: $30 is cheaper than getting all the DLC separately, meaning the DLC you are buying in the Season Pass is of reduced pricing)
Step 2: Download DLCs with no money exchanges occuring.
Got it? Pay $30, acquire all DLC. Total cost: reduced. Number of FREE DLCs? Zero.
Sorry if it was my unclear wording that confused you, but now I think I have been clear. Your first post about the Gears 3 Season Pass was false.

The collective DLC for Mass Effect 2 (sans Cerberus Network as it is free for all first-hand purchasers) comes down to ~3300 BW points over 2 years which equals 30€/40US$.
For the season pass to be worth anything, it has to cost significantly less than 15€/20US$ per year and BioWare has to actually produce at least as much DLC as they did for ME2.
What I don't like about this idea is that it:
a) Makes the quality of the DLC basically irrelevant once players have paid. With the current model, a bad DLC will be bought less as will the subsequent ones. This motivation for the developer is gone with a season pass.
c) You can't skip DLC you're not interested in. BioWare can basically put out whatever they want to fulfill the quota(if there is one) and you are paying for it. Even if it is nonsensical stuff like a coffee mug for your Normandy desk or some crap.
The idea is interesting but has a lot of potential to be to the disadvantage of us players.
