I still would like to know if this also applies to those who pre ordered off the bioware store

No, it is a Barnes and Noble partnership.

Thats a bummer, and the logic makes no sense, but alas its not my place to call them out on it.

These small DLC items are meaningless. Collector Rifle sucks anyway.

I tryed the Collector Rifle out on the PS3 version and it was one of the worst Rifles in ME2.

Not to mention the fact that Shepard actually beat the Collectors. So why would he use their obviously inferior weapons?

The allies beat Germany during WW2, despite Axis technology and military being vastly superior to the Allies.

Just because you defeat the people using it doesn't mean the actual tool is useless.

Just wait, in a few week Kotobukiya will announce those who buy the Liara statue will get a DLC with a tentacle hentai minigame on it.

As long as it's associated with Fornax.

So this book is different from the one that comes in the N7 Edition? (can't be bothered to read the entire thread)

Yes. This one is an art book. Not a book-that-the-publishers-made-so-tiny-that-it-could-fit-the-size-of-the-game-case-and-be-cheap-to-ship-along-with-having-a-very-limited-look-at-all-the-art.

Putting the DLC aside for a second, I'm curious about the book. What differentiates this art book from the art book included in the Collector's Edition?

Collector's edition art books are cheap junk IMO. It has a minimal amount of content, is shaped to the same size as the game case so they can save on shipping and it is not adequate for display, and it is often smaller and shorter prints. It is basically a teaser for what a real art book is like.

Anyone who has the ME1 standalone hardcover art book knows what a real and full art book is like. CE art books are near-useless to me. They just make me wish I could buy a full-size one.

The Art of The Mass Effect Universe is a full harcover art book that will hopefully contain far more than the dinky CE art books. Skyrim CE did a CE art book right instead of the cheap, save-on-shipping, low-on-content option that many CEs do.

Maybe this rant comes from me liking ME art too much.

First those silly action figures and now books!?  Sheesh I'm up for books and all, but seriously Bioware is WAY overstepping their bounds on all this dlc crap.  Dlc is supposed to prolong a game, not drown it within day one.  It's like Dragon age 2 all over again.  What next, do we have to buy a car for dlc now?  FORGET IT!
<_<

STOP IT WITH ALL THIS DLC ALREADY BIOWARE!  JUST GIVE US A FULL AND COMPLETE GAME!  ENOUGH ALREADY!

Oh dear. The last time BioWare launched a game with so many promotional items, they were trying to compensate for something...

Think positive. Think positive.

That's the difference. Collector's Rifle sucked. It was worse than the basic Assault Rifle, the Avenger. More advanced AR such as the Vindicator or Mattock make the Collector's Rifle look like a BB Gun. So again, why would Shepard use such an inferior technology used by bugs he just beat?

If you miss out on 20 to 30 "meaningless" DLCs, are they still meaningless, or are you missing 80% of your arsenal?

Yeah, I know, no ones forcing us to buy anything and blah blah blah. It's frustrating nonetheless.

I still would have liked an Uber CE edition for lets say $100 - $150.- which has all DLC and a nice extra physical item and so as a true fan I don't have to worry about anything anymore. Just order this version and wait for it to arrive with all pre-order DLC, extra book and figures DLC and whatnot.

Apparently we get the collector rifle in ME3 if we pre-order the art of Mass Effect art book.

*grabs popcorn*

LOL, hows your popcorn? Cause people are gonna RAGE when they find out they can't have the crappiest weapon ever without buying a book?

Too funny too....."for a price" because they're not a company that is selling a product and things shouldn't "have a price".

Are you worried about a vastly reduced arsenal when the weapons you do have get the job done just as easily? I know I wouldn't. If I had 30 weapons instead of 10 in my weapon locker that'd just mean 20 of those weapons would NEVER be used and the remaining 10 would be switched for others from time to time.

ETA: When I think about it some more I'd rather NOT  have all these additional weapons for I still remember how DAO dlc (the ingame rewards from playable dlc that is) gave you these awesome weapons and armor that were so strong even the insanity difficulty level felt like a breeze when you wore those items.

The CR is indeed inferior to pretty much every other AR in ME2.
If it's in the regular game they better buff it a lot...

Yeah, I think I'll be shifting around weapons a lot in multiplayer. I tend to like fully automatic rifles anyway.

I'll just say what I said in the other thread.

This wouldn't be an issue if there were a planned release of all this content digitally at a later date for purchase.
