I just gotta say - and lots of you know how picky I am about faces - I LOVE THIS FEMSHEP. She comes across as a real personality with distinctive, recognizable, memorable features. She emotes, does not have a generic, after-thought kind of face, and looks every bit as tough as the character and Hale's performance merit.

And I totally agree with those who remarked about that final line. When I heard "Tell your friends we're coming for them," a chill went down my spine so big I almost spazzed right out of my chair. Amazing line, delivered with amazing perfection by Hale.

Job well done, BioWare! Kudos and thank you!!!!

Think of it as more as a guideline. Line arts rarely translate well into 3D (especially U3), and that was, for all intents and purposes, a concept piece. The biggest differences I see are that she looks her age (which is a good thing), her eyes are lighter, and her hair is auburn instead of fiery red. The last is likely because lighting with dark hair is easier; that sort of bright orange has the potential to look odd with hi-res hair.

This definately. I thought the FemShep concepts all looked a little too young, but this final design is what I had hoped for in the end.

Whatever the negativity, I'm really happy that an interesting trailer about one of my all time favourite video game protagonists was released and gave cameos and screen time of some of the returning characters.

With the demo and the trailer in one day I'm going to go to sleep happy tonight.

I think its hard to get a concept art to look identical in game.  I think she has been done justice.  With blondes and redheads hair colour can tend to look fake.  They done really well with her and its very fitting 




Also I pm'd AD about a change in thread title to drop the "spoiler free" tag to it.   He wants it to stay, but I think its about time we drop it.   I know everyones got a different opinion on what constitutes a spoiler, but there a lot of new info coming in and I think its better to be safe then sorry.  

Thoughts?

That's... not Sheploo.  I know it kindasorta does look like Sheploo at a glance, but it's not.  Look at the fullsize image (what you see here is just a size-reduced one, right-click-view-image to get the fullsize).  You can much more clearly see that it's Marcus Fenix  James Vega.

And I for one am glad they made Default FemShep look like a proper late 20s early 30s woman instead of a goth teen girl too.

I am also glad they clad Ashley in an actual Alliance marine hardsuit instead of that Miranda Wannabe outfit we saw her in last.  Hopefull that will extend to having an actual hardsuit helmet as well instead of a goofy gas mask for hostile environments (I still can't get over the toilet bowl that Mordin has).

You voted last summer on Female Shepard's canon look. We put her on the Collector's Edition box art. Created unique animations for her. A lot of care has been taken to showcase this extraordinary space marine. And now, we give you, the trailer you have been waiting for! Thank you for your patience and we hope you like it. Consider yourself reinstated!

That sounds great, doesn't it ? Not sure if they meant "just for the trailer" but it does sound great

I love the way she moves in this part of the vid. She has this combo of athelete and dancer type of grace.

She is not Sheploo's sister. They are one and the same person. I don't really care how she looks I'm happy there is a FemShep trailer!

I also think there's gonna be a more detailed version in game. For all Shepards. Look at the difference in the  hands. They didn't get all the details in that there will be.
