Congrats on passing the "imports" guys, I see a lot of awesome going on here :D

So let's skip the flipped hair mesh for now........

As I expected, many things went wrong, I mean CC changes affected Marge in significant way. Improvements that adjusted her face to properly look in ME2 totally don't work in ME3, but I already see the workarounds, so I guess the demo will be in use a lot b4 the actual game :)

For now, she looks well, new, but that's definitely her, with her pale skin, lazy eye and funny lips I like so much. Plus her face is full of emotions now, which I absolutely adore. Have some raw import screenies if you like:

Well like we all keep saying some shots (like this) you recognise her straight away.  Others you think is she the same?    Still she is still totally awesome.<3   I think its getting used to the new hair style to begin with.

Glad your already plotting away Margaret B) :)

The bun is really growing on me again, i might have to have her keep it. Still, I'm waiting for the import since makeup and eye color should import nicely, and I could always change her eyecolor manually to match.

Official. New short hair looks damn good.

It's true I think that's what I'm settling with, and... Texture 3 really needs some TLC, they look dreadful in certain lighting, I'm sort of hoping it's not the final version they are giving us.. :( Otherwise, do you think your texmod textures will work?

Definitely! I really like what I'm seeing so far.

Just had to break radio silence (yeah, yeah, contain your groans and laughter femSheppers) when I saw this.

Chig,

When did Noah go from the old Ashley-bun to ^that (not trying to sound crass, just not au fait with all the names of the styles like most here)? And isn't the second to last new CC hair what used to be the Ashley-bun? And do you have plans to go back to the Ashley-bun when you import into the full game? And if the answer to the last two questions is "yes" could you give us a preview?

I know this was not directed at me...but hey! She's not often on teh BSN at the moment.

Ashley hair is not in the CC, it's done through save editing. It might not even be in ME3 at all (since Ash got an update.) And, we can't mod the game yet regardless.

Thanks, Ele!

The classy hairstyle is also the one I used in ME1 for Noah. Since Ash's bun is not an option in the CC (the other up-do's look great but I can't get used to the bump they all have), I decided to go back to it in ME3. Ideally, I would've liked to use defaultJane's hairstyle but, alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Nicole imported well enough, the new hair takes some getting used to but looks fine from the right angle. At the very least, her eyelids aren't transparent...

Can you confirm that default 1.0 is not in the cc?

Yeah, she looks a bit different now. I had to use default Jane's code to import her in the demo. That new one in the CC has blue eyes instead of green and one more thing. I don't remember what it was. But her code is different. And this Jane is the one I played in ME1 and ME2.

I don't think they put her in there at all. The one you're using looks more like the first preset of the previous cc. What do you think?

They are alike. But they are not the same Shepard. My Jane is former default FemShep. But this new Preset 1 is not her.

I couln't resist and imported my non canon Shepards too just to see how they look :) Wow... If I didn't know they are the same I made in ME1 I wouldn't recognize them :D:D:D

And I think, "This is not my character."

Overall, I'm not very happy... Jessica looks like Jessica from the first two games less often than she looks like someone else entirely.  The eye shape is subtly different, but the worst offender is the mouth, which usually seems to be a different size and is definitely a different shape, especially at the corners.

In my opinion she looked the best in Mass Effect.  Mass Effect 2 was acceptable, even if something felt slightly off.  If the demo is any accurate indicator, Mass Effect 3 is... well, acceptable isn't the word I'd use, I'll put it that way.  Jessica's features aren't the only offenders either; my still unplayed Adept, Christine, walks around with her lips constantly parted, giving her an air of mental deficiency.  I really hope things in the CC were tightened up between the demo and going gold.

These are my feelings pretty much exactly right now. It seems like the face animations are meant for iconic Shep and so it forces certain of our features into a shape we didn't pick. I tried 3 different sets of lips and when Shep talks they all look the same....

I cbf'd recreating my Sheps (because they're all ME1 imports) but I did play around with the CC and FemSheps I made were pretty decent looking. Best CC yet imo.

Thanks You so much, I was wondering what people thought of her look...I have more pics of her from the demo but didn't upload them as it was late and I needed sleep last night. :D

You know the more I look at Allison...the more I like her...the character select screen throws her off abit and since I can't ELE's textmods on her(  either ash's textures or the current for ME 2 Devon's texture's) I didn't know how her skin really faired but the more I look at her the more I like what I'm seeing...

@MizzNaa - Jennifer looks awesome as ever! :wub::wub:

@AkodoRyu - Marge looks fricken AWESOME and besides my own and 100k's Olivia( whose facecode Allison and ALicia are based off of) and red's Zody...she is my favorite femshep. :D

I tried out my Vanguard Sofia/Rhea (still haven't decided on her name, thinking it will be Sofia after all) in the demo and her face was flawless. I couldn't tell a single difference between the demo and how she looked when I created her in ME1, here...

... except for that one particular expression that's already been posted. Well, the eyes were slightly different, perhaps looking less almond-shaped, but it was hardly noticeable. Complexion 1 and the dark skin tone seemed to make it more forgiving as well.

I guess we'll find out in a little less than a month if things were fixed.

Is she a face "1" structure...looks like 1. Based purely on observation, structure 1 (myself and others) seems to be the least mangled by the changes *shrug*

Not sure if that's true, but it does reinforce my preliminary opinion that they have normalized-averaged out the features.  Structure seven especially is resulting in less distinct looking faces than in ME2.  It might be a result of the animations or lighting now, that has a huge impact on how Shep looks.  Even my less modded Sheps who should still look recognizable, don't look right to me, except in maybe one or two brief instances in the demo.  Certain features are still distinguishable, but overall, not the same person.

Trying not to sound super negative.  Some changes are for the better, some for the worse, a lot is a matter of opinion. Cookies!

Someone asked a question about texmod.  No way to mod the game yet, or really any idea if it will be feasible.  Origin throws a monkey wrench into the whole process.  Save editing might be possible after the game comes out and if someone updates an editor, but that's not really my thing I just use it.  If someone makes a workaround to bypass origin like they did with BF decides to get creative, texmod might be an option. Not really sure yet. I will be waiting on the official release and more intrepid modders than myself to find out.

Yeah, I'm a weak willed person. So I bought another small (once off) data bundle to see me out the month (I have a month-to-month on contract with my cellphone provider). And I am thus back (to much groans, applause, sniggering and laughter). Waiting for antibiotics to finish is boring stuff, but for the sake of humanity I'm under house quarentine, so this, and finishing my final manShep run in ME2 is my escape.

And while I'm still lucid, a big thanks to Ottemis for capturing screens of my one girl, and her alt. I'll get to them later.

@Sable: I just think those bad poses make Jessica look all the fiercer. And she would still be one of my top 5 iconic femSheps if I were to resurrect that ill advised question (of pages back) for ME3 femSheps.

@femSheppers: Goddess d@mnit, how many times do we have to say it. It's a demo! The CC is messed! Import will take the raw data. All of you panicking and dispairing about your imports, take a f*cken chillax pill or six. The overwhelming majority of people's femSheps improved in ME3. Those that didn't were victims of the messed CC, nothing more.

We have three weeks, and I'll be d@mned if I have to councel and dry tears for that whole time. Goddess knows, I've tried my best up to now, and will continue to do so as I have the energy. If, and I suspect that's a rather large IF, your direct import into the full game is still messed, then I'll be right there beside you as you rage and demand fixes from the devs.

@Chignon: I understand. Would still like to see a pic of her using the second last hairshape in the ME3 CC (the very low bun) despite the bump. That's just how I got to know her (pre-WWII icon that she is).

And now, since nobody sports the buzz yet, some demo pics of my alt-canon Shepard, Kassia, and her alt appearance Anje:

Yes, there are some import problems (despite 'mis's best efforts on my behalf), but I can definately see that a direct import of both will rock my world. I'd be very surpised if it's not the same experience for all of you 3/6/12 or 9/3/12. Now chin up, femSheppers, and let's face the future as our heroine would have.

I can quite point my finger at any other changes than hair, textures and eyes since in my opinion FC 9 looks the same compared to 1 & 2. But still for some reason all custom Sheps look more alike in ME3.

...unless that raw data can provide the old hair meshes, some Sheps are just gonna look weird, The End (hell, it might if they left old game files in, in addition to the updated versions. In which case, yay.) Either you're okay with it or you're not. I'm not actually fussed too much either way yet, just making observations.

So...errr, you take a f*cken chillax pill :kissing:

Hm. Got the demo but foolishly, I loaded up one of the FemSheps I hadn't brought into ME2 yet. Tomorrow, I'll try one of my three Infiltrator FemSheps and see how that goes.

CC is a bit strange in a few places, though I'll wait for the full game to make a complete judgement.

Maybe you should take your own advice and chillax? I love it when people flip out on criticisms making sure we know whithout a doubt everything will be okay at launch, except, we don't actually know that.

@ELE I do think the animations were based on iconic Shep's and the textures for custom faces seem to never have been touched up. :S I do hope we get everything sorted out at release, but usually the differences between demo and launch aren't that dramatic. /fingers crossed*

The thing is people have been asking over and over and over again wether the colors will sort themselves out in ME3, for instance. And this question has been patiently answered every time, but we repeat ourselves every time. While the question is understandable, so is the frustration for answering said question so-many times over when the answer is easy enough to conjure up for yourself using the logic that they did that between ME1 and 2 aswell with imports.

That certain things will look differently is logical because the emoting is on a whole different level now in ME3, the hairstyles are different and while the meshes are of better quality, the change in shape etc are not desirable to everyone, completely understandable.

Be wary of things you can logically be wary of, it's all the repetition of fears easily reasoned away that gets to people.

Added: When a Shep emotes more and more strongly in ME3, your eyeshape, and facial feats are distiguishable aslong as they're not deformed to look surprised, aka wide-eyed, or angry aka frowning, or sad, or whatnot. Because the expressions are so much more extreme, it's safe to assume the shapes are harder to distinguish in certain situations.
Seeing as the first part of the demo is a frown-fest, while the second part is not. Feats are horribly morphed most the time in the demo one particular way, and trying to get any real idea of how the changes impact on your shep looks is hard when you don't play through to the second part, where the emoting is more diverse, subtle and less prone to clipping.

When people emote, they look 'less like themselves', because we compare ourselves in relaxed state and dynamic pictures are rarely considered flattering. It's the same with femshep now.
