@Batman : Femshep is an icon for many female gamers. Maleshep is just another guy from one video game among other ones. That's why many male gamers don't care about Maleshep topics in general. Or at least, they are much less interested. I must admit that it is my case. That doesn't mean I don't like maleshep however.

It seems that the femshep community is more active with flycam/modding and screenshotting then the maleshep community is (as far as the two don't cross over), the same discussions can be had, but with less sharing of characters. I could be wrong, it's just the feeling i've always gotten.

It might have helped had maleshep gotten an equal amount of customisation options aswell. Asmuch as I respect people's decission in choosing a default look, a custom look promotes character building and bonding, and increases the likelyhood of wanting to share your Shep's story, because it's distinctly different from other people's Shepards.

I never said that, nor implied that. I gave one of the obvious reasons. I am well aware that many female players ( still a small nomber compared to the male players who choose a guy ) play maleshep, and many male players play femshep. But there is still a phenomenon about femshep. For female and even male players. Maleshep is discussed, but less interesting, that's a fact. People post their pic, but don't discuss about maleshep like they do so intensely in femshep topics.

yeah the femshep community has always been more active. the creation of both threads was so that the Maleshep has his own community like ours so maye the animosity between the fans of each gender will die.

It might be. Silverman tweeted last night that the trailer comes soon, he just happens to come back to twitter for a min to reply to that message. I'm not getting my hopes up too much but i'm sure excited

The simple fact of the matter is the trailer has to be released before the demo (i.e. Feb 14th). If they release it even a day after the 14th, it will fail and the whole point will be lost.

Femshep thread since one year : 1699 pages

What can you deduce from that?

Female, and even male players are more interested by Femshep, because it is really something. I saw many guys more excited about femshep than maleshep.

Don't get me wrong, I love maleshep, and I am proud of it, but that doesn't prevent me to notice that with Femshep, it is different. I analyze, that's all.

Otherwise,I noticed what you've done AD legend and Ottemis, I did think, It was a good idea yesterday.

because There's Something About FemShep ... uh, yeah ... that I think defies summation. You have a great plot, a great sci-fi world, and many people find that if you place a woman with Jen Hale's voice in the center of all that as a hero, you have a videogame/story that knocks us out of our seats, it's just a concoction of awesome the likeness of which we rarely see.

and then we can make her look like we want her to look and BAM! it's a perfect storm of Kickass Woman
