You're railroaded through the whole thing and will think Shepard's about as sharp as a sack of wet kittens for going along with it, since it's fricking obvious the entire thing is a setup.

"Welcome to The Project.... we're not indoctrinated!"

Harbinger appears via hologram, somehow, and again taunts you in a petty, un-machine-like fashion, trying and failing as usual to live up to Sovereign's example.

Fool! Harbinger's petty taunts are beyond your organic capacity for comprehension! (Yeah, not buying it either. I have a feeling he's pissy because the other Reapers are laughing at him.)

ToP Shepard. Edward needs some screentime.

By the way,

@masseffect For the PC version, will there be more graphics options or an HD texture pack?

@ryand86 When the full game releases, hi-res textures will be built into the game! #masseffect3

Eh, wow - this image had me flabbergasted. That's really, really odd! I used ELE's face texture (Devon test) because I couldn't stand how ME3 made my canon Shepard look, but imported my own face code from ME2, and I can assure you I came up with this face myself: at that point, I wasn't even a member of Bioware Social yet..

Sorry, please correct me if I am wrong, why does your femshep look so alike to ElE's Teagen?
Here's is Teagen's picture:

damn, gotta love the irony of posting a picture of a shepard which looks identical to ele's teagan with a username like "Dissimilitude "

Generic Shepard is generic? Image IPB

Proves that there can be only so many variations of femShep before commonly used slider positions run out. Sooner or later you're gonna run into someone who inadvertently copied your unique Shepard; more so in ME3 with the pixie-cut being so popular. Image IPB

*sighs* You mistake what I was saying, it is not the femshep that person has but the very screenshot. I wouldn't doubt that person has the same face code as Teagen, but how could you explain that he/she uses ELE's screenshot?

That is the question I was trying to point out, not the femshep =.="

Because, apparently, we took the screenshot at the same time as Shepard was talking to the kid. I chose that moment because the lighting was good and it's a nice close-up. Since our characters apparently look alike, so do the screenshots. I don't like being accused of plagiarism, especially because I hadn't even seen this screenshot before. These things happen when there are only so many variations of Shepard and when the demo is limited. I took a hell of a lot of screenshots, and this one simply happened to be the best (as opposed to, say, this one). That, and there's absolutely no point in using someone else's screenshot, especially in such a thread as this where plagiarism would be discovered in absolutely *no* time at all. I'm more of a lurker but joined this community because I'm interested in other people's thoughts on FemShep and wanted to share my own views, not because I want to troll...

This isn't the same screenshot.
I can tell by some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few screenshots in my time. /sarcasm.

Those two Sheps look very similar, but hair colours are different, lipsticks are in different shades and one has maybe a teeny bit bigger lips than the other.
And that scene with the kid is so screenshot worthy because it makes EVERY Shep look good.
So two people have TwinSheps. Big deal. It's not like you couldn't expect it. And I'm pretty damn sure noone will change their Shep because they saw a similar one on some boards.

Here's a side-by-side comparison, Hyper_gateway. The conversation sliders are different, so are the hair colours, the cheek bones, and even their skintones. I very much appreciate the fact that you're standing up for your friend and can even understand that you sent me a rather snarky private message - it's all perfectly understandable, but not so much fun. I sincerely hope this'll resolve the issue.

*sighs right back atcha*

Your insinuation/accusation of plagiarism is still wrong, no matter what reason? Dissimilitude and Loethlin both explained why (more elloquently than I would have), so I guess you owe some apologies now.

@Dissimilitude - well done for not blowing your stack being so wrongly accused! Here have an internet cookie and I hope it doesn't put you off this thread. We're better than that for the most part.

It feels imposed ( like working with Cerberus ). It sense of urgency makes playing it almost unecessary, as you're caught up in events that will unfold regardless of you personal imput. The concept of indoctrination is oversimplified. Harbinger appearing at the end makes it apparent that you' re wasting ou energy trying to destroy that relay.
Although there isn't a real need for Arrival to be undertaken solo, i really like the introduction of stealth in the gameplay. That Batarian prison setting makes Batarians and their actions feel less like an abstract concept. I did enjoy the levels design and the scenery, really nice touch put into.

In theory it would probably be better to DIY but since it isn't as straight forward at the moment, you can try this: http://www.mediafire...c/Coalesced.zip

Numpad1 freezes the game, Numpad2 toggles flycam and Numpad3 toggles hud. I've I remember correctly I probably forget to map moving keys in conversations so in some cases you can't move the camera.

Backup your old Coalesced.bin and replace it with this.

[awesome older Shepard snipped]

Not a lot as far as I've seen, although I'm seriously contemplating changing all mine to complexion 2 for this final war. Will see how they look once I install the demo tonight.

Your girl looks career military, with a touch of "shoved into a job she didn't want" resignation and determination. Also really refreshing to see some not so 'perfect with just a few perfect flaws' femSheps from time to time.

Pros:
A very cool jaunt through vaccuum at the end.
You get to meet Hackett, finally.

Cons:
It's short.  Very, very short.
It's predictable.
Dialogue choices are nearly nonexistent.
You have no squad.
You're railroaded through the whole thing and will think Shepard's about as sharp as a sack of wet kittens for going along with it, since it's fricking obvious the entire thing is a setup.
Harbinger appears via hologram, somehow, and again taunts you in a petty, un-machine-like fashion, trying and failing as usual to live up to Sovereign's example.
Hackett turns out to be a re-skinned Zaeed.

Much as I LOVED LotSB - Car chase! Liara's back! Anothe Spectre! Liara's back! THAT'S the Shadow Broker? Liara's BACK! - (and i'm not usually a big liara fan, too) I actually preferred Arrival.

Arrival is shorter, yes, and predictable. Yes it's somewhat railroaded, but I don't think the railroading is weird. It's not like you could or would choose differently. It's more like a mission that you go on ends up snowballing and you can't stop it. No one could - not even Shepard.

Yes, you have no squad, but that's part of the challenge, which is fun. I didn't mind Hackett's looks, since I loved meeting with him. the dr. tho, wasn't too impressed with. They should have had ELE make one for them.

I guess what I like about it is that ever since the Virmire/Ilos revelations about the Reapers, I felt like Shepard got WAY sidetracked. Council, Alliance, even Cerberus and the Collectors felt like these distractions from getting more intel about the Reapers and how to stop them. And while Arrival doesn't give you a lot, it IS a return to that theme of 'the Reapers are coming.'

I also really loved how it sets up ME3 and the anti-hero undertones that it gives to Shepard's character.

But that is me.

Also, I found it had some awesome screenshot moments.

I think Sage cover my thoughts aswell on Arrival. The return of the "Reapers are coming" was much needed imo after killing bugs and butchering mercs for a whole game. That there was no squad involved was refreshing and i enjoyed that. For my Shep it felt very natural to go in alone but i did at times miss the squad or just being able to have Garrus throw an overload on a nasty pyro
I also absolutely love that a mission that Shepard does really end badly for once. That not even Shepard can stop it. The anti-hero undertones, well i really approve of them aswell.
The DLC could obviosuly been better but it's grown on me and i really like it now.

Everything Sage said, also, the mech bit was fun =)
I've also always been a sucker for those inevitable happenings, specially coupled with great disaster. As much as you try, you are forced this way because there is no option. No happy outcome.
I also much appreciated the blind trust Hackett shows in Shep, once again. Honestly, it made me like him even more, if that was even possible.
