Oh on that topic I find it better to start with ME3 resources and add in the features like eye make-up and lip colour than to actually use the old textures from ME1 and ME2, they don't match up right with the new "body" textures (well neck and ears technically) and it creates a really visable Oblivion style seam between the face and the rest of the head. As for the normal maps you pretty much got to do them again, they're smaller and a completely different colour palette this time around. Which was strange when I was doing the conversion for Colleen since basically her skin had this really unatural white ghosty look.

Worked out eventually though.

I'm working on Reagan's ME2 run and she finally has her sniper rifle back.

Posted Image
It's a good day... as long as you're not a Collector.

I gave her the sniper rifle specialization when I made her in ME1 but I'm thinking she's going to have to stick with her heavy pistol for any ME3 sharpshooting. Unless I can get some weapon mods or some kind of bonuses during the game to sufficiently help with cooldown reduction there is no way I'll be able to play a shotgun+sniper rifle vanguard. She'll be my first run, so I'll find out soon enough.

And her ME3 incarnation in the famous "good luck" shot because why not. (And I don't really have many decent pictures of her to begin with.)

Posted Image

EDIT: After playing so much mp I keep trying to make her ninja roll out of danger in ME2-- it's not going well. haha

@ wynne: no, it was a kaidan/liara slash fic. i can see the motivation, i guess. chunks of 'chosen' and 'valhalla' got lifted. it was really weird. but that's the intarwebs for ya.

also, more gratuitous shep shots!

Posted Image

^ The more I play the demo, the more i'm weirded out by how much kyrie looks like me now. i built a shep that was a close to me as i could manage for me1 - just used closest features, but eyes weren't quite right. then, suddenly, it's like - gah! or maybe it's just that she looks so dang TIRED all the time. i have those same circles under my eyes. only my reasons are way different.

Also, if you like philosophizing about Mass Effect and didn't see this on twitter, you should read it. my thoughts were, yup, ME is the first sci fi to truly ditch modernism.

Just tell me the pros and cons of Arrival.

Just did. :D I do see a similarity.

With regards to Arrival, if you want that little bit more story and that little bit more action then I say go for it. Personally I like it because it ties in with the main story. The only downside I can think of is the absence of choice; no matter what you do, the end result remains the same.

What are you gonna do mass effect wise from now until March 6? Finish a canon playthrough? Alt playthrough? Play Demo SP? MP? Or gonna wait until Mar6 to brush of the console/PC again?

It's more like mid-March for me as my copy still has to ship from Amazon plus waiting on customs. Hopefully it'll arrive in time for my birthday~

Anyway, for the meantime I'll be going on full canon ME and ME2 runs with Jennelyn using the "final" facecode I conjured up from the ME3 demo. I was impatient the first time around and missed a number of sidequests in ME so I'll be sure to get on that.

I used Gibbed Coalesced.bin to JSON converter, made the changes and then packed it to .bin again with the same tool. Same commands work as in ME2.

Here's the edited Coalesced.bin with conversation, cinematics key maps (normal mode too). Numpad1 freezes the game, Numpad2 toggles flycam and Numpad3 toggles HUD.

Bless you, Tup. You rock. <3

I enjoy how in the comments of instead of reflecting on the article, they talk about picard vs. kirk

Responses to intelligent articles on the internet often remind me of Disney's Up. You know how they -

Scientific explanation: the Lazarus Project also redirected Shepard's natural body fat distribution process to CERTAIN areas of the body.
It seems to be working. B)

.... though maybe something like THIS (part 2) for femshep would be pushing it ... ??

I tried complexion 2 on both Kassia and Anje, but Kassia just emotes really badly with it (very noticable at the Alliance brass meeting). Anje otoh, carries it off beuatifully. Here's the "I'm gonna frag all ya mothaf*cken reapers! One at a time. Slowly, and with great pain..." look:

I'm not entirely happy with the hair, but I suspect the peroxided 'Cerberus' yellow she was sporting in ME2 has been fading (much like her infatuation with the organization itself) since being grounded. She's still a well guarded xenophobic racist (in the galactic sense), and still a somewhat more blatant racist (how we use the term on earth) with an attitude.

So here's my two girls as they will most likely appear in the final game (excuse my manShep in the collage):

@kyrene - they both have a very pixie look - even manshep (j/k on the manshep)

i dunno how you folks make good faces with face 7. i know it's the icon face and all, but everything i've made with it looks horrible. i keep trying, and i can't work it. so far, i've used 1, 8, and 9.

I read this somewhere

Some info on the Facecodes, Game will not use Facecodes when import a Save from Mass Effect 2. The Game will use the raw data found within the Save. The Character Creator from the Demo is not finished. Plus we were promised longer Hair options, we have not seen this as of yet.

any turth in all this as it would explain why the sheps look off in the demo also what diffrence would using the raw data instead of the facecode make

"The Collectors better have prepared themselves for a renegade ass kicking."

Nixvi Shepard, Soilder in ME1 with green eyes, Infiltrator in ME2 with cybernetic white(Zaeed) colored eyes, and let her hair down to kick ass.

Decisions, decisions! I really like them both. I see the benefit of keeping her look the same throughout, but I also dig the RP aspect of going back to roots and the black lipstick adds intensity. On the other hand, I've been saying that the blonde is my female Duke Nukem. Arrgh. This is hard. =p

I think this...

...will describe best what I'm gonna suggest. If you're set on going with that specific hairstyle, I'd go for the "back to roots" colour. The blonde version with no (or little) makeup just looks a little... invisible. Don't know how to better put it; I'm not sure it won't also look that way anyway with other (shorter/severe) haircuts. The black with dark lipstick looks more like a natural progession of a punky Shepard becoming more sure of herself/mature and not having to 'rebel without a clue' about everything in life just to prove something.

IMHO, YMMV, T&C apply...

Actually, I kinda like the blonde/natural makeup look because it's a bit less "obvious badass". I mean, she still looks tough but it's not so... blatantly spelled out with the dark hair and lipstick, imo. She looks good either way though.

Wow, that is a wonderful article! Just about perfectly describes why I fell in love with the series in the first place. :) I felt a little bit like I could make my own Janeway, and that was awesome!

You know, from what I've read, that's actually healthy. Fatty tissues in the posterior seem to absorb the bad stuff and keep it from settling near the heart or other vital organs.

License to give FemShep a fine booty, approved! ;)

In other news, I think I like her:
Posted ImageThe only thing I like a little bit less is that she looks younger than I'd expected even with complexion 2. Ah, well... I still like her. I think bald ladies are awesome... *gazes fondly at Jack*

Wow, Wynne, you just keep on impressing me. Or shall I say you with your ME3 CC. She's really well translated, and a stunner to boot!

I just wish I could make her skin tone darker. You can go really pale; I'd like to go really dark as well, or at least a shade or two darker.

I hear you. Anje just isn't dark enough for my idea of an african woman of African descent (as opposed to the CC's more indian/dark arabian/african american dark). Granted, some of our african ladies are even lighter (I'm thinking Zulu, Swazi and other Nguni tribes), but I want Xhosa or Sotho dark too please. K thx, BW?

Thanks, sage. *preens*

*whispers* It's the ears. I always give any CC face I design some quirk, and in this case all three got the sattelite dishes, while poor manShep also got the #2 eyes (looked really weird in ME1/2 at times).

As for femShep face #7, I find eyes #7 match it best. Designing around that becomes a lot easier.

I like this human, she understands...

Can't wait to see what the new graphics/lighting did for her (and others, but Jack in particular).

Not liking new Ashley though (the hair is lovely, the face not so much), but not gonna say more until manShep spends more time talking to her.

I love you so much right now. Any chance I could get an animation speed binding as well?

Give the speed values you want and I can do that for you.

I have been trying to find a way how to increase/decrease value in UE3 with a key (instead of using fixed values) but I haven't found out how yet. Maybe I just suck @ using Google...

Wow! Some really beautiful FemSheps in here *_*

I just replayed the demo and I spent another 30 minutes trying to re-create my Yreth with the new CC. I'm quite pleased, but there's still room for improvement :P
