I've been eye balling the Coalesced.bin and there are few interesting settinsg there. bUseMaxQualityMode is one, it's not false but sadly setting it true results in black screen.

MaxWholeSceneDominantShadowResolution=1334 (try changing to something bigger, I use 2048)
bEnableForegroundSelfShadowing=False (try setting it to True)

I'm unsure if those will do anything but it's worth to check it out (testing at the moment). Also I'm almost certain that no other than variables under [SystemSettings] can be changed via the GamerSettings.ini so
[D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice], [Engine.Engine] and [Engine.GameEngine] settings would have to be changed in Coalesced.ini. Also MaxSmoothedFrameRate and bSmoothFrameRate will work and actually should be under [SystemSettings].

Like filmgrain, AmbientOcclusion variable is set to true but it doesn't do anything. I assume that this game doesn't support in game multisampling even though there is variable for it too.

no, i'm on normal and sucking at vanguard. i am just not really great at always close combat. adept is really a range, which i like. mostly mid, occasionally long, sometimes up close. in MP i have fallen in LOVE with grab kills. biotic or omniblade. my fave is melee on guys just climbing up ladders. then smack 'em with warp as they fall. it makes me laugh so hard! :devil:

ahem. but i dunno. vanguard strikes me as very white-knight. OR a jerk kill-stealing on MP. so yeah, i know what you mean about playing with MP friends.

Well, I'm not the usual "Get outta my way I'm charging everything around me to death" Vanguard...I'm usually the one with the most assists...yeah I'm a weird Vanguard :bandit:

Looking at the demo I noticed that there is a form of Super-Sampling going on that looks very much like what SMAA by Jorge Jimenez is doing: SMAA
I believe there is a switch in a config-file that turns this on & off.

For reference, check out this Screenshot of Talia (purely in-game, no other Tools loaded aside from FRAPS to capture the frame)

There is clearly Anti-Aliasing going on in this screenshot.
I have not modified anything in either the game's config files, nor in the catalyst control center for my ATI.
The form of Anti-Aliasing that is probably being used has the benefit of not having to be supported by the Game-Engine, which is a good thing as we all know that the Unreal Engine in any version does not support Anti-Aliasing on its own.

It's FXAA. I personally prefer supersampling or MSAA to any post process antialiasing methods since those will never match the sub-pixel quality of MSAA or SSAA. Also finding the edges can be a bit tricky so there are some texture blurring too (with post-process AA methods). I personally use 8xMSAA+4xTrSSAA and have disabled the in game FXAA.

 Hey Chignon! I think I saw just one pic your shep pages back and I want to see more. Have you managed to import Ashley's hairstyle or are you sticking with something different?

@Sage: Your newest character looks interesting. I'm a fan "plainer" looking faces and it's more important that a character animate well rather than just be photogenic, anyhow.

I think giving assists is way better than killing (am I weird?)...I mostly use pull to send the baddies flying and leave the killing to the others

I'll see once the game is out if I'll convert my ENBMod Settings to ME3.
At the moment i'm using a customized set of configs (for which I found the basis here) and the SMAA taken from Jorge's site.

Sadly, no. Since BioWare decided for Ashley to switch her practical bun to lustrous L'Oreal locks, I had to  make do with her old ME1 hairstyle.

I'd love to use the hair mesh of defaultFemShep but it's not an option. At least not currently. I'll just wait patiently for some talented modder to figure out the codes.

Well, I have noticed no drops in in-game performance in either Mass Effect 1 or 2 using SMAA.
The only thing that slowed down is the visual reaction of the ME1 Interface, though that is really just the visual reaction, the actual reaction on-click is as fast as it was before the application of post-processing.
I think that the system I got here will also be able to handle 1920x1200 very nicely and without a hitch, but that will have to wait, got no money for a new monitor right now... even though I will probably need one soon, this one is starting to show clouding around the edges.

I love how much more expressive our shepards are in this game, Though she looks a lot paler than she really is. I wonder what her face code would transfer like from ME3 to ME2. *goes to experiment*
