One of the cool things about that article, though, is that it implies rather strongly that taking back Earth occurs only partway through the game, not as the finale.  This is a GOOD THING.  I'm tired of science fiction where Earth and humanity are treated like the center of the galaxy, and Mass Effect is a unique universe in that it's avoided this pitfall so far.  Earth is a slummy backwater and humanity is still looked down on as an impatient race of bullies despite its Council membership.  It's a refreshing perspective, and making Earth the ultimate focus of the game would have betrayed this creative decision.

Wow that's harsh!Posted Image But i agree; there more in the universe than humans. Glad it is not all centered on Earth.Posted Image

I did get to play some multi-player last night. (just joining random missions) I really had a blast. So far I'm liking vanguard the best. (and I'm waiting to unlock Thane's long lost twin), but I can't play the game with the Origin in game thing. It causes the game to not load up. I had a couple invites last night and I wasn't able to join your games (whoever you were), but it was not because I didn't want to. I was trying to figure out why I couldn't load the game up when i was invited and it all had to do with the Origin in game thing. With that disabled the game loads up, with it, it does not and then I have to force my computer to reboot, and that is so not a good thing for the pc.

I find it rather glaring.  Maybe it's because I just got finished with a Mass Effect 1 run, but there's no way that walk is anywhere close.  It's kind of like a cross between ME1 femShep and LadyHawke, and she tucks her elbows in a bit, like a model on a catwalk.

Blegh.

Yeah, I don't find it subtle either. I was sincerely hoping that the walking/running animation wouldn't be one of the gender-specific changes that the devs talked about. It's one of those things that made femshep stand out (even though it was the product of Bioware being lazy); it was part of her character. I just can't picture my femshep walk/run with her elbows tucked in like that.

I thought the walk in the demo was too caricaturist(ic) - as if femshep was trying to make a point and show that she tough ( even if it's the same as sheploo and yeah it's a cut scene ); they may have gone too far the other way - although i too just have an issue with the elbows. But i like the fact that enough attention seem to be paid to femshep.Posted Image

Link that shows the new dynamic galaxy map + femShep's gender specific animations for a few seconds

I'm pleased. I know that many of you won't be.

It is really hard to judge how femshep walk in those few seconds, I could only tell her arm swing a little but nothing like Lady Hawke.

Lets wait less than 2 weeks to find out how they put all the stuffs we talked in here together. :D

Pariah! Outcast! You know the voice of reason is not tolerated on BSN, even in the femShep threads! Begone foul and evil maligner of kneejerks and inlfated opinions! Begone! Posted Image

Seriously, I have to agree with Hyper here. Or am I gonna be forced to bring out the packets of chillax again? Posted Image

Nah, I agree.  I think it looks fine.  Hard to tell from 2 seconds of footage anyhow.

Your packets of chillax are safe.  But I'd keep them handy.  You know you'll need them again, probably sooner rather than later.

I think I found an alternative to chillax. I just stare at your avi and I forget what I was doing... What was I saying? See! Next time there's a sh*tstorm brewing here I'll just quote that pic.

By the way, ELE, how did Drea (sp.) translate to ME3? I don't think you ever mentioned it.

Okay, this may be a little SPOILERY (not really though)

and it's tangentially related to femshep, and maybe this has been discussed before, but this time through the Demo in SP, I was like, HEY! that city-scape looks awfully dang familiar
I swear that view is a dead ringer for the floating bridge leading from Mercer Island across Lake Washington. (<-- that's a bad pic. the angle I'm thinking of, I can't find a picture for). Kind of like how at the start of ME1, I swear the view out the window that Shepard is looking at is of Hudson Bay.  And then when the Normandy flies off for the citadel and the city gives way to a certain coastline, I realized, yeah, that IS seattle. Or maybe it's Vancouver. But it sure looks like seattle.

I think from watching trailers and such that the Reapers pretty much land maybe 10-15 min from my house. That's not comforting even though i have a huge forest protecting me. The game must arrive early so i can together with my FemShep save my house! Oh and the galaxy aswell i suppose

Well, judging from that cityscape, there's not much forest left in 2186. Looks like things got built up just a bit.

^ And to get that date of 2186, I was pretty sure that's what it was, but just to be safe, I looked it up on the wiki. Yep. I am a geek. :pinched:

Yeah, I seem to remember reading that too. Maybe the Reapers aren't so keen on EA...they saw this from space and thought "Right then..."

Edit: Wow, artwork is brilliant! Love the detail on the armour, really well done.

It's Vancouver (which actually was combined with Seattle at some point into a megalopolis), which houses the North American headquarters of the Systems Alliance as well as the Systems Alliance Parliament.  This means the Parliament was moved from Arcturus Station sometime between ME1 and ME3.

That's right.  You just got out-geeked.  :P

Speaking of Earth locations...

I don't think it'll happen, despite its relative importance in ME lore (first exposure to dust-form element zero resulting in first human biotics, etc.), but I'd love it if you wound up in Singapore at some point in the game. Oh man, the memories Jessica would have to deal with... she'd be impossible. She'd be cold and distant and a royal b*tch queen the entire time, even to her crew. Even to Liara. Of course, Liara would understand, what with all the "Embrace Eternity and see what's inside your mind" thing.

If they're Earthborn, where are your femSheps from, and how does that influence their characters and backstories?

Blah about the FemShep walking animation. Sigh. Gorilla Limp in ME2 might be ridiculous for other reasons, but I'd take it anyday over stupid hipsway and floparms.
