You guys probably had this discussion before, but lets bring it up again! The thread is 200+ pages long after all :P

Who is your favorite LI in the game this far? Why? And who will your first FemShep go for in ME3?

It's funny, I loved Kaidan in ME3, there wasn't really an option for females who don't wanna romance other "females" but I still loved him, the voice, the.. Ahh.. And when it became obvious that I wouldn't get any "action" in ME2 from Kaidan, I kinda fell for the drell, Thane Krios. This voice is also very nice. But the my last play-through, I had a male friends tell me that I have to go for Garrus! So I did. And jesus! I loved that romance, and he is sooo sweet underneath all that urian bravado ;)

Tho Kaidan is still my main Sheps true love, and he will be the one I go for first. Mostly because I missed him the most, the other two were in the last game ;) But I will go for Garrus 2nd to that because he also has a lot to give!

But Sbarge really did an amazing job on Kaidans voice. I love it!

Romance ALL the THINGS! :o

Sorry, I couldn't help it XD

Anyway, Kaidan's my main...and until recently - my only romance. That was until all the ladies on mumble started making alt-sheps for other romances, then I decided to go all out and made 5 other Sheps, for every romance option+Vega. Sadly, they're all sitting on Lazarus station. As much as I love them all, and think I've done a good job with how they look, I can't get over the fact that it's Jenn's voice out of some other Shepard. It just doesn't feel right. ME has always been Jennifer's story for me...

But I'll get over it, eventually. Maybe after I played ME3 4 times or something :P

Storywise, it's Kaidan because I like the overall drama -- the romance, the sense of betrayal (not really betrayal, but I can't put my finger on a better word so you get the gist), and the long awaited payoff. =p This is absolutely the first romance that I'm going to finish.

A very close second would be Jacob. I found him boring on my platonic playthroughs, but when I went for him as a romance choice, I was so pleased with his development that I sent kudos to his writer (who was also responsible for writing Aveline in DA2). Jacob was a nice change of pace -- he wasn't "broken" and didn't want Shepard to try to mother him and was absolutely willing to break up with Shepard if it went that way. He was very open in his appreciation and made it clear he showed his feelings through actions, not words. I liked the parallel stories of them being burned by the Alliance, but working with Cerebus because hey, where else could they go? Cerebus was getting results for them along with providing resources. I was pleasantly surprised to find that in the very end, when Shepard kept the base for Cerebus, Jacob disagreed and said that was a really bad idea. (Kaidan didn't agree with sacrificing the council either on my first Shepard.) Deja vu! Sure, Jacob had his cheesy moments, but his overall characterization was strong. I do worry about the romance being watered down in ME3 because Jacob apparently has a different writer for the next game. I have no idea what to expect.

"How does our story end, Jacob?"

I've romanced all the interests available to FemShep and will finish all their runs at some point. The only one I didn't do was Liara simply because I didn't have it in me to squeeze out one more ME run. I was burning out hard on my fourth Shepard because I struggled to keep their stories different.

Funny you should mention that. I had that same disconnect when playing a bit of Anje's ME2 game. Female Shepard has thusfar always been Kassia as voiced by Hale (just like male Shepard has been Xavier, not Sheploo, voiced by Meer).

I did a run with both Sheploo and Jane 2.0 in the demo just to see how they both emote, and was thinking the whole time, "Who are these imposters?" Probably why I've never really seriously entertained multiple characters, and only attempting Anje's playthrough because she turned out so good looking in ME3.

Weird!

And your elaboration does explain it better. Also the reason I don't write ff anymore.

Fair enough. ^_^ Squirrel!

Re: Default Jane and having Jen Hale's voice come out of other Shep's mouths - playing so many sheps for the making of shep video was pretty eye-opening. Her voice actually suits so many faces, it's spooky. Maybe that's why I have such trouble with making alts now. I like your guys sheps better.

Frankly, and this is totally my own opinion, if I were to choose a default Shep, it would be ELE's Caroline. She animates AMAZING. I cannot even tell you how blown away I was by how she looked in game. The screenshots don't do justice. I think the reason I like new default so well is she reminds me a lot of the Ballbuster.

ELE, they need to hire you to do character modeling, I swear.

I didn't have those issues with Jane, it already took me a while creating Laire before I was happy to have her be Shepard after Jane. When I created my third, it was particularly hard for me to make a new Shepard to play with Hale's voice, it took me ages to finalize her to the point where she was different enough from the other two (funnily yes, they need to differ enough for me) to have me comfortably play her.

I've created many more, but Jane, Laire and Raine are the magic triangle for me.
Having said that I've started my Joe play-through and some of my other custom Sheps I've fine-tuned and fine-tuned up to a point of them being 'playable' for me, just not gotten around to it yet.

My canon's playthrough is still on the progress, and all her decision is 'well planned'. Or I should say those are the decison of myself?

Lethania wrote...

So far is is Liara, her character has developed very well after Lotsb and part of the credit goes to her VA - Ali Hillis, she has done a fantastic job to make this character as real as she can be. :)

Velina will goes in at first, I have mentioned the reason before so I will skip it from repeatly boring everyone on here :P

@Sage I don't think you are a control freak but more than a perfectionist to me, something just keep bothering you until you do it the way you truly want it, eh? ;)

I prefer Hoodie more than the leather jacket, may be there has something do with where I live :D

Here's my idea of the clothing, if each one of them are a model that is separated from other, it would be great to allow us to choose from A + B or C + T, just like what we do in our life! I know this is doable and the main issue will be the clipping between each clothing, but that's should be just about it....

Yep, same here. I tried creating a second femshep but just couldn't do it...even though I did make it all the way through ME1. I intended to make her a paragon (as opposed to my canon renegade) but I ended up picking the same replies, making the same decisions as my canon, and ended up romancing Liara...again. By the time I got to ME2, I felt there was no point in continuing so I ditched her.

I don't know how people can roleplay multiple voiced protagonists especially if you get too attached to the character (like me and everyone else here, I'm sure).

- snip for the sake of quoting -

I retired to my quarters, sore, tired and more drained than I had ever felt in my life. We were on route to the next merc base and I was cleared for duty. But I had time to sleep and I was thanking the creator profusely for that. There was a knock at the door.

It was Kaiden. I let him in and closed the door behind him.

“Shepard, what the hell was all that? What is going on with you?” He wasn’t harsh, he just sounded concerned. I couldn’t think of anything to say. I don’t know why, maybe it was the delirium of my exhaustion; I just walked up to him, pulled him to me by the front of his shirt and pressed my lips on his. After we parted, he looked at me a bit stunned.

“Kaiden, please go”.

“Rhynne……..”

“Please”. I hated the pleading tone in my voice and was horrified to see that my vision was starting to double as my eyes started swimming. “Okay” he said and quietly left.

I was out before my head hit the pillow.

I wouldn't change anything choice wise, but I always seem to find different dialogue options when playing my other Shepards and think that they would suit Hrist. I then forget where they are, and end up picking an option that seems out of character. ME3 needs the ability to drop out of a conversation like you can in swtor. :pinched:

Regarding different look Sheps with the same voice? I've never had a problem with it myself. My three Shepards are all very different in terms of personality and looks, so it never seemed odd to have Hrist's voice coming out of Lenneth, or vice versa.

Journal Entry #9

I woke up this morning feeling better. After a quick shower, I decided I’d better get some breakfast before we get dropped on Mavigon. After the previous day’s events, I was relieved that I awakened with my confidence still intact. However, I decided to change the team up for this run even though it’s still part of the same mission. Until I learn how to manage……whatever is happening to me, it might be better to work with people that I….won’t worry about. That leaves out Liara and Tali, who have become my dearest friends and Kaiden who is…….well Kaiden. Besides I have to spend too much time covering Liara and Kaiden’s backs (I wouldn’t know about Tali, I won’t let her out of engineering, unless we’re at my “place” watching vids and stuff. Have I mentioned how much I love that kid?).

To be fair to Alenko, he’s decent in combat and I’m probably over exaggerating how much I have to watch out for him. After a lot of thought I’ve come to terms with the truth. I tend to overreact when I see a situation unfolding where he could get taken out. But, let’s be honest, I see the patterns on the battlefield before he does…..that is to say; my eyes are “faster”. Then again, they’re faster than just about everyone else’s other than maybe Chief Williams.

I’m still trying to process what the hell all this means and what the hell my damage is.

Anyway, I made my way to the mess to find, of course, that it was empty except Alenko. Awkward. Suddenly I wasn’t all that hungry. I grabbed some coffee and sat down right next to him keeping my eyes on my cup. He asked me why I had taken him off the mission. I muttered something about him deserving a break. He made the valid point that it was me who got shot up but am not taking a break. I pointed out that I never take breaks, even from taking the point.

More awkward silence.

“Shepard, about last night, why did you….”

I interrupted him, but my tone was soft “Kaiden Shh”. After a pause I said “Kaiden, I’m sorry for the way I……uh….acted toward you in the field yesterday”.

“Acted? I don’t remember a thing. It never happened”

I finally mustered up the courage to stop meditating on the properties of a cup of coffee and dragged my eyes up to his. His eyes were smiling. Kaiden has a kindness in him that I do not possess. If I had to deal with me, I’d punch me in the face. I gave his hand a quick squeeze and could only manage a whisper “Thank you”. We finished our breakfast in a comfortable silence.

Joker dropped what I like to call “The Death Squad”, on Mavigon in the Mako. That would be Wrex, Ashley and I (not to mention my uber beast sniper rifle “Bamf”). We’re such a smooth efficient unit, deadly and cool under fire (okay shut up, that was one time). Wrex isn’t the sure shot Ash and I are but biotics, health regen and back up organs kind of make up for that. Plus he’s very smart, fears nothing and hates everyone equally. I playfully refer to him as “The Big Ball of Hate”.

This was an actual compound this time, not a fricken mine. It was up high on a hill, kind of a cliff. And joy of joys guarded by heavy turrets. As The Death Squad is often likely to do, we attacked head on. I used the hydraulics liberally, “hopping” over incoming shells while Ash fired the guns and Wrex went crazy with the cannon. I also did a whole lot of driving in circles, partly to avoid the shell fire, but also to try to knock Wrex over.

I was actually having fun.

After we destroyed the three turrets, we ducked inside what looked almost like a science lab type of deal. The first hall led to an unoccupied room (where I stole some medi-gel. Sue me). On the left wall was another door where our friends were undoubtedly hunkering down waiting for us. We approached the door and listened…..nothing. F*ck it, I opened it and went through the door low……oh sh*t Krogans!

Run away!!!! We double timed a retreat back through the door, back through the hallway that lead to said door and into the empty room.

Krogans tend to charge, so we waited for them to predictably come through the bottleneck (they did) where I unloaded a sequence of Overload, Damping, and Sabotage while Wrex unloaded biotic attacks that I don’t know the names of. I effin hate biotics so I don’t know much about ‘em. Happiness is a warm gun (Bang bang shoot shoot).

While Wrex and I were unloading biotic and tech hell on these obviously not too smart Krogan Mercs, Ash was raining hell with a new Spectre issue assault rifle I bought her with sweet shredder rounds. After my third tech attack I went to work with the pistol trying to melt these bad boys with Polonium (Those f*ckers were still coming! I mean, holy sh*t) but I was starting to take some rounds myself and my shields were waning fast.

The final standing Krogan made it to within a foot of me (sh*t! sh*t! sh*t!). Wrex dropped him with a shotgun blast just as I was about to resort to kicking him in his four testicles.

Dammit I was really having fun. Ash was starting to give me sideways glances because I was grinning like a fool…….Okay except maybe the aforementioned part where it looked like I was going to have to fight a Krogan hand to hand. Yeah, that wouldn’t end well for me.

Long story short, once the Krogan mercs went down, the three of us raced back through the door (after we waited a minute for our shields to come back up. F*cking Krogans) and made short work of the mercs. There were all kinds of flammable canisters everywhere so I just started hitting them with overload or, more fun, shooting them. The mercs that didn’t get burned panicked in the smoke and confusion the fight ended up being about as competitive as a deer hunt. We looted the place for weapons and such to sell (that stuff was crap. No way are we using it).

It was a happy, trip back to the Normandy filled with banter and “Did you see that dude’s head explode?” Did I mention I hate slavers? Well they’re not actually slavers, they’re dealers but they do give people over to slavers. They are scum and killing them is a public service.

Good times

Now to the Fortuna System to give Miss Blake a big surprise.

Never played Sheploo, so I can’t speak to that.  I do however, have six femsheps and in a very odd way they almost all sound different from each other.  For all of ME1 and over a year after ME2 came out I only had one Shepard, UJ. After playing and refining UJ’s playthrough countless times (I lost her save file once) I finally decided to create a renegade femshep. At first I just did a ME2 runthrough, but it felt hollow. (this was before the comic) She also felt like an imposter.  There was nothing distinct about her.  She was attractive, but something wasn’t working. That’s when I lost all my save files including UJ and new renegade Erica.  I replayed UJ again from ME1 then made another Erica also starting from ME1. She was much more renegade and romanced Kaidan. Not only did Erica 2.0 (a soldier) look nothing like UJ hearing the new lines and the new romance, she even sounded different even when saying the same lines.  It’s an illusion to be sure, but one that worked on me.

This continued w/ other femsheps. April, a sentinel, took almost all the middle lines and again, same voice, but sounds just a little different. This odd illusion continued w/ three other femsheps. One was pro Cerberus and another went back and forth on renegade and paragon lines as if she was bi-polar.  They all sounded different until Jaime, my full paragon Adept. She had the same hairstyle as UJ and I used many of the same lines w/ her as I used w/ UJ. Thing is, she’s UJ’s surrogate as I made her for Ash, just in case.  I don’t know if any of this makes any sense, but for me, all my sheps look and sound distinct.  UJ is canon, though.  The others are just a scant few in a sea of infinite parallel universes.

The original Erica. I still have the code so I might do something w/ her in ME3.
