Must have been the same person who died and made you this thread's Official Opinion Judge. No, wait... you appointed yourself to that position. My mistake.aren't you going to go back to lurking now?

When do you think you'll get Drea up and running? I'm very interested in seeing how she translates.

My favorite LI is Thane. I may be in the minority, but that's how I feel. He's an intriguing, well-written character that I found myself attached to from the the very beginning. He's perfect for my Shepard, since I find their personalities mesh quite well.
I also like the idea of my uber, self-righteous Paragon being blindsided by the fact that Thane is more than what he seems. It's hard to explain, I guess. That being the said, I find myself unable to romance him with any other Shepard because it's just weird.
That's a really cool way of looking at your Shepard's relationship with Thane. I always thought he was cool but his backstory with his wife and son always reminded me of Carth, of whom no fictional man can ever take the place of.
But as for character development, I thought he was very interesting, especially with his personal philosophy. Deep down, I always hoped that he would become friend with Samara if Bioware would have released an increased-dialogue DLC.

I don't understand why people always bring up that comparison. Their backstories are quite different, their personalities are not the same. They lost family, but that's not unique to Carth and Carth only.
I'm looking forward to seeing how strained the relationship becomes in ME3. I know I'm gonna be weeping like a little baby.:crying:

Never said I did. but even so there's no reason to call Femshep a s lut because of a casual outfit. Or is that now okay?ELE08 wrote...

I understand that their personalities and backstories are different, yet, you have to admit, the story of loosing one's wife, especially if they wholefully loved her, coupled with a fractured relationship with their son, is truly universal in terms of the shared sentimentality surrounding it, both by him and the woman who comes into his life.
Now does that lessen Thane's unique character, or propugate the idea that his backstory is unoriginal? Of course not! You still love him for exactly who he is and that is what is most important. So when idiots like me pop up and say things like, "He's just a carbon-copy of Carth" you can totally back up as why he's not, yet still understand where their coming from in terms of the shared sentimentalities between the two in terms of their relationship with the new woman.
And for ME3, trust me, I'll getting out the tissues because Thane is one of my favorite friend-companions. <3

How about we leave personal opinions on people that frequent or happened to have started this thread out of the freaking thread, that'd be nice. Because this thread is about Femshep, I thought. Not everybody's uneducated opinion of each-other instigated by opinions on subjects that matter f-all in the end.
Moving on?

I've actually meticulously crafted my playthroughs to fit the image that has developed in my head of Jessica Shepard over the course of 5+ playthroughs (I say 5+ because while I've run through both games beginning to end a total of five times, with my constant saving and reloading it's probably nearly double that). I don't even remember what the decisions were that I made on my very first playthrough of either game. By this point, I've quicksaved almost all major conversations in order to explore every option on that dialogue wheel, so even though I don't remember them word for word I've been able to map out the "perfect" path through the games to fit with Jessica's character. My poor choices and mistakes are just as engineered and pre-planned as my good ones. Only in a few cases has Jessica surprised me, or has my own inattentiveness resulted in a less-than-ideal outcome that I ended up keeping in the game: shooting Finch, missing the aircraft fueling station so that Kirrahe died, letting Kasumi keep the graybox (utterly convinced that will bite me in the ass, but Jessica's lost too many people herself to be able to force Kasumi to give up the memories of her lover), unable to resist Morinth, etc.

Now, I have a question for you folks. Did you give your femshep a backstory? If yes, how did the game play out on your subequent playthrough i.e. after you fleshed out the details of her origins/beginnings or any of the events in her backstory? Was it a totally different experience?
I'm amazed at how different my current playthrough feels after finally giving her a backstory and sinceit's really tragic, it's incredible to put yourself in her shoes and determine the nature of the conversation.

Wow, that's pretty much exactly what I'm doing right now with my current playthrough. In fact, I've literally spent 20 minutes just now.....traversing through the Ashley conversation dialog after one of the missions. I've reloaded about a million times trying to get the conversation path/tree just right and in line with what my femshep would say given her backstory (which I created for her before this playthrough). Though every decision I've made during my first playthrough stays the same, not gonna change any of the major stuff.
I really want to complete both ME1 and ME2 but with the amount of time I'm spending fleshing out the character by constantly saving/reloading, it's gonna be a while before I finish and definitely not in time for ME3 release.
But I'm also recording footage so I won't ever have to do this again (I can either watch the playthrough videos the next time or look at which dialog I picked)...so I guess it'll be worth it in the end.
Now, I have a question for you folks. Did you give your femshep a backstory? If yes, how did the game play out on your subsequent playthrough i.e. after you fleshed out the details of her origins/beginnings or any of the events in her backstory? Was it a totally different experience than before?
