I remember when we chatted in here a few days ago about trying to max out our scores so we could unlock certain situations such as having the option to choose Morinth, whether or not we actually wanted her over Samara, and the hostage situation in LoTSB. According to this, we no longer have to worry about being specialized one way or another because our paragon and renegade scores will now add up together for the purpose of unlocking special dialogue. I am absolutely thrilled with this change.

Welcome back Tim.

Thanks Saturn!   I've been careful to avoid the main part of the forums as much as possible, bar the preorder cancelling thing.  Oh, and the FemShep thread.  I decided to visit FemShep.com and saw Jamie's post about the 'casual day Shep', so that's cleared that one up! 

So, in honour of this, I created a brand new FemShep (though the face code's partially based on Cara - my canon Shep).  Here's Lynn, my Earthborn Sole Survivor Adept (loving the last hair colour option you can get in the CC):





I love this shot, with the flames and the lighting:



Who knows, she may survive beyond the demo, though she may undergo a few tweeks before then.

that's great news! i can't tell you how much i felt i had to compromise/sacrifice principles ( in ME 2 ) to find myself in a place where Shepard is not out of character. That issue literally ate me up and still does as i'm about to go through one more playthrough. This is by far one of the best ME 3 news i got.
I'm such a happy camper right now.

I am too excited for this feature! Erin's score is never maxed out, by the end of her game she's normally sitting around 80% paragon and her renegade is right below that and they both take so long to get there she misses several dialogue options. Jeong and Morinth are the ones that bother me the most, she's never unlocked those.

The past couple of weeks I've been trying to decide who to put through ME3 first and I just can't decide between Erin and Reagan. Today I decided if I couldn't decide who to import first I'll just make a new ME3 Shep for my first run. So, here's Lena Shepard. Spacer/war hero.

Then your logic applies to Shepard as well. Shepard should have quit the second you meet with the council. You have proof yourself that 2 years later the Alliance and council are doing nothing and the one time they do it's really to spy on you. 

The "inactive" Alliance beat Cerberus to every colony before Freedom's progress.  The only reason that Cerberus got anywhere was the dumb luck that the first time they were able to get there first, was the first time there were survivors.

Cerberus was tied up with the billion credit project to revive teh savior of the galaxy and once said savior was revived they went after the collectors where the alliance would not. Also the alliance was only on Horizon because Cerberus leaked that Shepard would be there. in ME2 Cerberus>Alliance in terms of getting stuff done.

Journal Entry #14
 
We were nearing Noveria. Looking at the frozen expanse growing before us as I stood by Joker, armed to the teeth with full armor, I was moved to state the obvious “We’re going to freeze our asses off”. Joker, eyes fixed on his gauges, hands flipping switches in a blur, quipped “Better you than me Commander”. Joker requested that the air traffic allow us approach to Port Hanshan to which they replied “Normandy your arrival is unscheduled. Our defense grid is armed and tracking you. State your business”.
 
Joker: “Citadel business, we have a council Spectre aboard”.
 
Air traffic control: “Landing access granted Normandy. Be advised, we are confirming identification. If confirmation cannot be established, your vessel will be impounded”.
 
Without looking up from what he was doing Joker deadpanned “What a fun bunch. I think I’ll take my next leave here”. As I turned to exit the cockpit I replied “Better you than me Joker”. I made my way to the airlock entrance where Liara & Wrex were already waiting. “You guys ready? We’re on approach right now”. Wrex gave his usual nod as Liara replied “Yes Shepard.” Liara’s eyes were practically shining. She had all but begged to accompany me on this mission. I get the feeling that she wants to keep me safe. It was actually very sweet but…….I feel like a first class heel. She and I really do need to talk. “I’ll be right back”
 
I headed toward the med bay to grab some extra Medi Gel. No one was there so I went over and helped myself. As I turned to leave I found Kaiden standing in the doorway. I jumped a little “Oh sh*t Kaiden you startled me”.
 
“Sorry Commander. Shepard, I’d like you to reconsider and bring me on this mission. I have a bad feeling about this”. What was that in his eyes? Couldn’t read him (what else is new). “Kaiden, it’ll be fine. Air traffic would have been much more welcoming to a Spectre if they were under Geth attack. This is probably a dead end”. Kaiden sighed seeming to accept that I wasn’t going to change my mind (When do I ever?). “Can you do me one favor? Just be careful. Don’t do anything nuts Rhynne, just come back to me…uh…us safe”. I put both my hands on his shoulders, got up on tip toe and pressed my lips gently to his. He brought his hands up and gently cupped my face.
 
Oh man that did it.
 
Next thing I knew I had pushed him up against a wall and we were engaged in a full passionate kiss. How many years had it been? I was completely lost in the moment, just letting myself go for once until I realized three things.
 

We had landed and I needed to go before someone came looking for me
I was being incredibly unprofessional
I was starting to sweat in my armor 
I managed to tear myself away from him and looked up at him as I said breathlessly “We….will continue this conversation when I get back Leitenant Alenko”.
 
He smiled and replied “I’d like that”. I hurried to the airlock and did my best not to skip.
 
By the time I reached Liara and Wrex I had my game face on, “Let’s do it”. We entered the airlock and talked a little bit about the mission until the outer door opened giving us our cue to exit to the docking area. We followed the L shaped walkway to the entrance of Port Hanshan which was blocked by what looked like three police officers; one Turian and two women. The one standing in the middle, a pretty Asian woman, appeared to be in charge. To her left (my right) was a sneering chunky blonde who I instantly disliked. When we got within about 5 meters of them, the blonde barked “That’s far enough!” I asked very politely “Something wrong officer?” to which she replied “You’d better hope there isn’t”. It had taken less than thirty seconds for me to learn that every time this woman opened her mouth, I had a strong desire to fill it up with my fist. The woman who appeared to be in charge stated in a very professional manner “This is an unscheduled arrival. We need to see your credentials”.
 
I had originally planned to comply and I should have. “All you need to know is I have more credentials than you” I said in a very non compliant manner. This woman did not deserve this. She was just doing her job but I was indulging in a petty desire to provoke this beach bottle blonde with a bad haircut to her left. The aforementioned chunky blonde turned to her Captain “Load of horse crap ma’am”. I smiled at her sweetly. The Captain continued “I must also inform you that carrying firearms is forbidden on Noveria. Sergeant Stirling, secure their weapons”. My pistol was pointing at Stirling’s face before she had taken half a step. Stirling and the Turian belatedly drew their rifles which I answered with a knowing smile that said “I could’ve had you and you know it”.
 
Wrex had the Turian lined up with his shotgun and Liara was glowing blue. “I’d like to see you try it” Wrex Growled to which Liara added in all her academic awkwardness “It would be wise to search for the Geth unarmed”. I thought to myself “Way to tell ‘em off Liara”. As I gave my best B*tch on wheels glare I said softly “Nobody takes my gun”. Stirling yelled “Charge and lock!” as her calm, professional Captain advised “We are authorized to use lethal force. You have until the count of three”. I activated my shields while noting none of them had any. When she got to the “TH” sound in three, that blonde chunker in front of me was going to have a face full o’ polonium. Wrex would likely blast the Turian at or before that time also spraying the pretty Asian Captain a little (She didn’t even have her gun out and had her hands behind her back. What guts. I felt a bit bad because I already liked her. She was……well…..me a couple of short months, and a lifetime, ago). Lord knows what Liara was going to do to these poor fools with her biotics.
 
Right after the count of two, a voice came over the intercom “Captain Matsuo stand down! ID had been confirmed and Council Spectres are permitted to carry firearms”. I could see Stirling bristling at the announcement. I again gave her my most sugary sweet smile and quoted my favorite glass boned ship jockey “No hard feelings, good game”. Her face turned a deep red. Captain Matsuo, being the professional I used to be, ignored our petty pissing contest and said “You may proceed Spectre. I hope the rest of your visit will be less confrontational”. I nodded to her and said “Thank you Captain Matsuo”.
 
But of course, Miss B*tchy-Poo had to get in her parting shot “You had better behave yourselves…..or else”. I walked over to her and moved my face right into hers, nose to chin (she was a bit bigger than me). I spoke very softly, like a lover sharing a secret “Oh we’re going to have a problem aren’t we. Oh yeah, you and I are going to go round and round”. Now I lowered my voice to a near whisper so only she would hear “I’m getting lady wood at the very thought”. Something flashed in her eyes. Anger? No it was fear. Her mouth worked for a second until she manage to find her voice and yelled shrilly “Get out of here!” I let a smile slowly spread across my face and let it morph into a sneer of contempt as I looked her up and down.
 
“Lets go”.
 
As we entered the port Wrex said “Was all that worth jeopardizing the mission?” I stopped walking and turned to Wrex, “You’re right it won’t happen again. Thank you Wrex”. Wrex gave me a Krogan grin and replied “You don’t have to apologize to me. I would have been happy to shoot them. I was just surprised you would”.
 
Now I was smiling, “Point taken.” Would I have given Ashley or Kaiden that much respect? The more I look in the mirror, the less I like what I see.
 
We passed through some detectors as we went up the stairs that immediately shrieked in protest. An elegant dark skinned woman told us not to worry and introduced herself as Gianna Parasini. She told us a bit about the port and advised us that a Matriarch Benezia had arrived in response to me asking if anyone unusual had come through. Liara seemed to turn a paler shade of blue “Benezia’s here?” I said “I need to see her right now.”
 
Parasini said she had gone up to Peak 15 but her boss, Administrator Anoleis must approve before we can head up there. Following Parasini’s instructions, we made are way toward the Administrators office. When we were out of earshot of Parasini, Liara stopped me. “Shepard. I suppose you want to ask me about my mother”. Those beautiful eyes looked extra round as she looked at me….so intensely and with obvious anxiety. I just shrugged “Uh……no. Why would I? Liara you’re part of my team and my friend. I trust you with my life. There’s nothing to ask”. Those big round eyes had the slightest shimmer to them now “Thank you Rhynne. That means the world to me.” She leaned in and gave me a shy gentle kiss on the cheek. It was of course very inappropriate. And very sweet.
 
I had left out the part where I need to bring her along to put Benezia on her heels giving me the opening to kill this sweet girl’s mother right in front of her.
 
Maker, I am such a f*cking b*tch.
 
Wrex mocked gagging and exclaimed in his grumpiest voice “Look I’ll help you fight Saren, the Geth or anyone else but I should not be forced to watch two ugly women kissing. I did not sign up for this”. I laughed out loud.
 
 We arrived at Anoleis’ reception area to find Gianna there manning the front desk. She let us in to see the Administrator who was obviously very unhappy that I was in his port. He was not very helpful but we did manage to learn that Benezia is there on behalf of Saren as his executor. He wouldn’t help us beyond that and would not approve our departure because of stormy conditions.
 
Sh*t biscuits.
 
As we walked back out through his reception area, Gianna gave me a “Psssst” and motioned me over. She told me in low tones to talk to Lorik Qui’in in the Hotel Lounge if we want to get up to Peak 15.
 
We took the elevator up to the hotel lounge. We found Lorik Qui’in, a Turian, sitting at a table. We approached Lorik, who said to me “You are the Spectre that just arrived are you not? What can an old Turian like me do for you?” 
 
“Me? A Spectre?”
 
“It’s too late for cover ups Commander. Your picture has been sent to every employee. We’ve been warned that speaking to you is grounds for termination. I am the manager of the Synthetic Insights office……for the moment.”
 
“Looks like a fun job by the look of it. Are you hiring? I could get used to drinking all day and getting paid for it”.
 
“I assume you’re referring to my loitering here. Mr Anleis closed my office. He claims to be investigating reports of my corruption”. After a pause, “The Administrator has become quite wealthy since he took control of rents”.
 
I sighed seeing where this is going “What do you need me to do?”
 
“Anoleis has hired goons to ransack my office in search of evidence I have of his rent kickback extortion racket. I suspect your goal lies outside this port. Mr Anoleis would be disinclined to let you wander. If you recover the evidence in my office, I will give you my garage pass, as well as a sum of credits”.
 
“Done”.
 
“Violence against Mr Anoleis’ thugs may be necessary. He has members of Hanshan’s security team searching my offices. He’s paying them under the table unbeknownst to Captain Matsuo”.
 
“Well, if they’re being paid under the table they’re mercs. Dead mercs if they get in my way”. I immediately thought of Officer Chunky Butt.
 
He gave me the pass to activate the elevator to the Synthetic insights offices. The three of us made our way straight to the elevator. While we rode up I said to Liara, “Stay close to me if you can. If you can’t stay close to Wrex”. Wrex grumped “I’m not hear to baby sit the Asari”. Liara whispered in my ear “I appreciate the sentiment love but I can take care of myself”. She squeezed my hand affectionately. Oh lord we really need to talk.
 
Sh*t biscuits can’t this elevator go any faster?????
 
As soon as we get off the elevator, there’s two dirty cops in my face. A woman and a Turian who’s already drawn his assault rifle. They’re already dead and don’t even know it I thought to myself. The woman halted us “Hanshan security. This office is sealed”.
 
“Tough sh*t”.
 
“You’re the Spectre right? Lorik Qui’in is under investigation”.
 
“You’re being paid to shake this place down. That makes you a criminal……..” I looked at the pistol in my hand then looked at her to convey the message.
 
“You’re bluffing”.
 
Liara spoke up “Rhy…..Commander Shepard doesn’t bluff”. I could tell Wrex was just itching to shoot something. Sh*t was going to get real in a split second if these clowns didn’t get walking.
 
She seemed to consider this and said finally “I’m not getting paid enough for this sh*t. Tell you what, you didn’t see me and I didn’t see you”. She left with the Turian in tow. Wrex looked a bit disappointed. “Let’s search the first floor quick before going upstairs to Lorik’s office”. Liara hit me with a biotic field “What the fu*ck Liara?” It was actually a barrier that had bullets bouncing off of it before I could get the sentence out. Someone was firing on us at Twelve o clock. I hit him with an overload and Liara followed that with a lift that smashed him against the wall. We killed another gunman as we made our way to a first floor office. As we approached, a gunman popped out said office. I noticed a flammable canister on the wall behind him and overloaded it. The gunman screamed as he pin wheeled trying to get the fire out. Wrex was actually laughing as he unloaded his assault rifle into the poor b*stard. We did a quick sweep of the office, found no one hiding in there and headed upstairs to Qui’in’s. No one seemed to be upstairs so we quickly found his terminal and downloaded the evidence without incident. However, on the way out…….
 
…..Waiting for us by the stairs, our exit, was a team of security headed by guess who? Good old Chunky Butt Stirling. “I don’t think you’re supposed to be in here Shepard”.
 
I retorted “So what’s your point?”
 
“My point is that you’re not going to walk out of here. Do you know what we do to cop killers on my world”.
 
I looked as bored as possible even though every nerve ending was tingling. “Well if I see an actual cop around here, I’ll be sure not to kill them”.
 
Here eyes narrowed in fury
 
Liara, ever the reasonable one “Officer, you are actually here off duty breaking the law”.
 
I was a little less pragmatic: “Bring it b*tch”
 
I was immediately thrown to the ground by some kind of biotic attack; luckily I was thrown behind cover. I could already hear Wrex’s assault rifle chattering out its music. I had a partial view of Liara who was shooting with one hand, and throwing blue sh*t at them with the other. I got to my knees and rested BAMF on my cover and started popping heads like zits. We were on the 2nd floor, the bad guys were at my 12 o clock but on the first floor at my 4 o clock, more bad guys had shown up and there was gunfire ricocheting off the balcony structure by my head. I had to turn my attention to them and hope that Wrex and Liara had the f*ckers on our floor under control. I didn’t want those assh*les on the first floor to get to the stairs and take away my high ground advantage. I chucked a grenade into the midst of where they were taking cover. They all scattered out of cover except one poor sucker who was lifted into the air by the death blossom.
 
I hit one merc with overload and another with damping before getting BAMF back into the act. Liara was suddenly at my side popping her pistol over the balcony at the baddies below. Wrex had gone down the stairs and flanked them on the 1st floor. This was good news as it meant the assh*les on the 2nd floor were all dead……at least I HOPED that’s what it meant. Having a bad feeling, I wheeled around to catch Stirling popping up out of cover……I hit her with overload. She screamed and collapsed as I sprinted over to her to draw a bead on her face at point blank range. She laid there looking up at me with hateful eyes, her shields gone, and her temporally useless overheated weapon in her hand. All gunfire had stopped, everything was still.
 
Drop it b*tch.
 
She did. “Figures you’d shoot me unarmed. F*cking Spectre huh?” She spat at me. “Coward”. I started unhooking my guns and tossing them to Wrex who had made his way back to me from the first floor.
 
“Get up Tubby”.
 
Stirling got to her feet. She spat “I’m going to enjoy this”. She f*cking had a knife.
 
Wrex was already drawing down on her. I yelled “Wrex no!”
 
Stirling lunged at me with the knife, I feinted left, caught her wrist my right hand, twisted it clockwise which bent her body over forward at the waist, her arm locked with the elbow facing up toward me. Keeping the arm locked with my right hand I brought my left forearm down like a hammer on the elbow joint, the cracking of bone was followed by her screaming. I twisted the broken arm around more which brought her wails up another octave and stomped into the side of her knee collapsing that joint, and tearing ligaments. I spun her around to face me, having a hard time keeping her on her feet. Holding her the lapels with both fists, I head butted her in the nose, and let go, watching her collapse in a heap.
 
I stood over the broken bloody heap of a woman and said calmly, “If I ever see you again, I will kill you and everyone you know and love”. Liara was wrong, I do bluff.
 
I have a lot more to say about Noveria. After some lunch, I’ll write some more.

I really like the stuff Demonhoopa's been posting and I've kinda always wondered what Maria would say in response to the email Shepard receives as a Spacer.  The last entry was brilliant!  And it kind of left me thinking, how would Shepard talk to her family?  The other two backgrounds she doesn't have one, but what would the Spacer Shep say?  What would the Spacer Shep say if they had the Ruthless background.  So here's just my musings for Maria.  Forgive the imposition!

Hey,

I got your email.  I just wanted to say thanks.  I'm sorry I couldn't contact you sooner, I was on a deep cover operation for the Council after the Normandy got destroyed,
have me working out in the, well, you know how it goes, Spectre stuff.  It's classified to hell and back.

Maybe you could send me a vid next time?  It'd be good to hear your voice.  I know you've always been proud of me, you stood by me after Torphan, after Saren.  I never did thank you properly.  Things have been hard, I keep making choices, bad ones probably.  And yeah, I keep having the nightmares.  The fires, the blood, the screaming, sometimes I just feel like everything is piling up.  You know how it goes.  I do wish I could tell you.  Prepare you for the bad things you'll probably be hearing about me. 

Anyway, I know you didn't ask, but I figured I'd mention it.  You've always been my rock Mom, you taught me
to fight the good fight, to take no prisoners, and in the end to always get the job done. 

I love you.  Maybe, well, maybe when it's all over you, me and Dad can have a nice family dinner.  Dad can make my favorite risotto, I miss that.  Military food's never as good as home cooking.

Hi nightwolf. I can answer you where rhynne's concerned as she is a ruthless spacer. Rhynne's relationship with her mom is strained and she sarcastically refers to her mom as the great Hannah Shepard. Rhynne was very close with her dad who doted on her. When he passed, Rhynne was devastated. Hannah loved her daughter but was not a nurturer and did not know how to comfort her daughter. Hannah, dealing with grief of her own withdrew and threw herself into her work even more than usual. This was a defining moment in Rhynne's life and probably the root of some of her emotional problems. Torfan was the other event. Her cold ruthless efficiency was really masking rage. This journal cronicles all her repressed emotions bubbling to the surface forcing her to face them and deal with them. She will emerge a reasonably healthy balanced adult or she will be destroyed. This will be juggled with saving the galaxy. No pressure


PS, I just read your response to Hannah's email. Loved it. Your Maria sounds like a healthy young woman. A nice change. 

PPS, This response was done on my iphone. I apologize for it being a run together mess. I mean more so than usual.

Actually... outside of the hoody... she isn't modded at all.  That was the request from the original facecode holder.

You have no reason to be jealous... both Rhynne and Hope( especially Hope) are gorgeous and amazing!

Hi everyone. Just stopping by to leave some links to a femshep countdown video series if anyone is interested in checking them out. They are a bit late but here is '6 days left' and "5 days left" anyway.
On side note, is anyone else finding spoilers really, really hard to avoid these past few days or is it just me? The net has become a dangerous place

Thank You very much... she came out really well with her new update...so I'm glad everyone is liking her updated appearance....okay, I think all 7 of my femsheps are ready to go...will probadly tweak more when the main game releases...

7 Shepards, that's a lot of tweaking.  I've been trying to stop myself from tweaking my Shepards but I think I'm happy with most of them now. So much time can be spent in the cc without even noticing it. That place is some kind of time warp.

Are you sure Ash is checking out Crystal's clothes. From that angle it's open for debate that she's checking out something else

Since we have no conformation whether or not she is bi in this game...I'm going with clothing for now...though I could be wrong...as it seems they gave both her and Kaidan the same animations and just about the same exact lines at that point...

It will be interesting to see how it turns out in ME3. I can't really imagine Ash is bi though. Then again if Shep is looking like that who can blame her?

How many of the femSheps out there are solo acts, fulltime Alliance soldiers, or Spectres through and through?

My Esperanza started thinking of herself as a Spectre first the second she stood in front of the council. She managed to keep with that all through the games, partially by grasping at straws (Udina's the one who grounded me! The council didn't cut me off!) and partially with sheer stubbornness (They didn't tell me to stop working with Cerebrus; they must believe it enough to let me investigate). I'm not sure how well she'll do in 3, but it ought to be fun to find out.

It also gives me an excuse to do all the side quests. And take some odd dialogue choices -- for instance, stalling on Thane's mission just to play the "Hah, lawyer can't do @*#&, I'm a Spectre!"
