@Verly: You've always got to take the "Paragon", top options to do the romances. It's how I always get in trouble with my paragades. (I've accidentally started romances with: Kaiden, Liara, Jacob, Thane, Garrus, hit on Jack, etc then felt really guilty about calling it off) I blundered into the reach and flexibility line, it was somewhere around 2am and I had no idea Garrus was a love interest. I was mostly flying blind on that playthrough.

I made a little comparison between my Kayla Shep in ME1 ME2 and ME3. I must say she looks totally different in ME3 than in previous games.

Your Sheps are pretty Leth, especially the ones from ME1 + 2.  The hair textures are completely different in 3, so they change the faces in new ways.  (Along with other things...)  I think it's going to take a lot of experimenting (and possibly face mods) before I find a new face I'll be a happy with for my Sheps.  Hopefully Gibbed will unlock some extra hair options. <_<  Never been happy with those.

I want to have a chat with the person who thought it was a good idea... not to put this hair style in Console Character Creator for ME 2...  <_<

Because that style is my favoriate of them all.

@nightwolf lets hope gibbed get updated pretty fast tho! might take them a while :s

@nitefyre yeh I love it as well, almost all my Sheps in ME2 had that hairstyle, shame you have to mod it in tho.

@Saturn thanks :) I looove the bottom one, the first one is just, I dunno. I got so disappointed when I love the same face in ME2 and now it doesn't look nearly as good. Think the biggest differens is the eye shape. Top one has Eyeshape nr 2, bottom one has the last eye shape. That one works so much better in ME3 than it did in the previous games.

:pinched: Can't live without Gibbed!

On a more serious note, I hope they'll provide us with an ingame option to skip the opening cutscenes.  Or provide an earlier way to get the character editor.  ME2 was pretty ridiculous.  If the character creator is a different system now, I like it, but it's...harder to gauge what's going to look good.<_<  I never know until I get to the cutscenes, they should give us the option to watch our Shepard interacting in there! :D

Have you played the demo? I doubt that there's any opening cut scene before the CC. Demo did not have that.

Yeah i notived eyeshape 2 for the top one. i think you made a good call. As i also notice that the last eye option is less prone to eyelashes problem. The #2 is my favorite but i'm always plagued by eyelashes not showing properly or clipping...

It definitely helps that we get to see her face from the beginning. Though to me it takes playing under all types of setting, under a multitude of different lighting, differents sceneries to get a clear definitive handle on how the cc options transfer into the game. It's not uncommon for me to start over my character after having completed a third of the game

No... It's just that it might not even be possible for some ME2 imports. Some will have to make the face from scratch. It's unknown how common it is but they wouldn't bother to make FAQ about issue that never happens.

Though, if Tiia was Jedi in ME2 she looks more like a Sith in ME3. I don't know how else I would put it. She looks somewhat different but I don't know the reason why (colours are probably a bit off).

EDIT:
Tuchanka smirking.

Well, seeing how busy the modding community is with adding non CC hair, skin textures, TiM eyes to their Shepards, if any of those get a new handle or disappear entirely in ME3, import would end up wonky.

Aside from that I see no reason why a pure import wouldn't function, because if it grabs raw data (and it should) you'll get your facial feats imported fine, along with the right color and scalar values.

That would be my guess anyways, doesn't make sense pure CC characters out of ME1 and 2 would not import into 3 without issues. Slider positions mean nothing, and a color not being on a slider neither. Raw data exists for exactly that reason.

It doesn't make any sense to me either but reading things like these don't make me confident:
http://help.ea.com/a...o-mass-effect-3

Will I be able to make changes to my Shepherd when I import?
You will be given the option to alter the appearance of Shepherd, and you will be able to change class (i.e. Soldier to Adept) as well.
NOTE: Some ME2 saves will not be able to import the face-file of your Shepherd. You will need to re-create the appearance when importing the file.

Basically they have confirmed that there may be issues. How common that is going to be is unknown.

I was arguing on one thread about this with exact same response as you but then I noticed that FAQ... ...and their Shepherd.

Well do you think it's smart for them to back themselves up knowing some people are stupid enough to break their own save in therms of modding and then blame bioware for having broken it? I wouldn't be suprprised. And yeah I've seen that post/quote a bunch of times. I'm not afraid.

As I've said. Aslong as all the old features are still in the game, and aside from hair (which there will be more of in the actual CC, so i don't know wether it'll be an issue) they have been. I've remade 10+ different sheps in the CC and their facial features are in there. There can be no issue, because the rest is RAW data for morph positions, and RAW color vectors and RAW scalar vectors. The import, like in ME1 to 2 should work the exact same.

That your Shep would look a little different with the engine changes and the normalisation of the features as has been stated is to be expected, but that';s not what they're telling us here.

Now this is assuming that they didn't just plainly break the import function, which is an illogical conclusion untill proven.

You know... When it comes to software you should be surprised how many thing you can break. :P Normally I wouldn't bothered about this but since some console user are reporting face import issues.

Well if they broke it, then we can pleasantly rage about it once we've seen it be an actual issue. No use getting all afraid before knowing wtf is going on.
Aside from that we can get working facecodes from both ME1 and ME2 and we also know how to not only hexedit saves but also have an active modding community that provide us with tools like gibbed savegame editor. Whose worried? I'm really not.

The only people sh*t out of luck would be the PS3 players in therms of modding, but well, honestly, on a tv how much are possible differences like eye-colour gonna matter in the end. No offense meant btw, I own a PS3 myself.

I'm not really worried about it myself either. I just keep in mind that it might now work (for whatever reason). But I do not agree that they put stuff like that in FAQ just to cover their ass.

I can't possibly see how my Shepard wouldn't import. I've only adjusted the blush scalar since it was too intense after import.

I'd back my *ss up if I was them, I really don't blame them.
I kinda see it like saying in their manual to not stick cats in microwaves so you can't get sued for not having included it later. That that's necessary is the sadness I think.

I don't know... They didn't have that for ME2 I presume. But we'll see then I guess. I have DDE locked & loaded with flyCam mapped already. Only need to get rid of that release date check (gets VPN ready ).

That's how i read it too. What they talk about shouldn't affect Tup. Like you i think the changes we've been seeing are related to that new engine. Interesting that it was also used(the new engine) for the PS 3 version of ME 2.

No but we couldn't Mod ME1, or barely, through the savefile. The percentage of people that hexedit is few and far between. (And DA2 wasen't out yet to break socalled 'community trust' in Bioware)

Also I'm a little bit envious, I don't even know what's going on with my pre-orders yet atm =/

Shepard: Nice piece. Where did you get it?
Kirrahe: It's a (classified) defensive ordnance pistol.
Liara: What does it do?
Kirrahe:fires low velocity projectiles...(tech jargon)...during impact...(more tech jargon)...infrared signal...
(more tech jargon)...motion sensor...(more tech jargon)...dual uses. That's pretty much it.
Shepard: Okay!
Liara: Can you translate that into galactic?
Kirrahe: ...just an STG thing...
Garrus: I want one. Where do i sign up to become STG?
