I thought Jennifer Hale was nothing short of amazing in this game. I have always loved her work, but Mass Effect 3 was her absolute finest hour.
Agreed. The ending sucks majorly, but Hale's job in ME3 just blew me away. Especially with the FemShep/Garrus scenes. Just flat out incredible.

As as side note, I find the credit song (Das Malefitz) extremely depressing.

Nah, it's just the ME1 ME2 first preset with a different mouth option(when you import)- The skin texture and the frekles are the big give away; apart from the fact that it's a different morph to begin with.jkthunder wrote...

If you're referencing the song that is similar to one in ME, I found it more nostalgic than sad. The really sad track was the piano piece that plays during Shepard's decision called "An end once and for all". It's hard to listen to now.

That hair looks great on your Shep! I tried it on one of my Sheps, but it just seemed so drastic... now you have me rethinking it.
Edit - wait... is that from ME2??
*also looking at this thread through squinted eyes to avoid spoilers*
BTW - and I know this has been discussed in depth here, but does the default femshep in ME3 look as ridiculous and appauling to anyone else as much as it does for me? I still can't get over it and am trying to think of a way to superimpose one of my fems over the one on my CE tin case (she is defiling it!!). Why would they replace Plain Jane with THAT?
Thank you!
I made a post earlier in this thread how the new default shep kinda looks like Anakin Skywalker from Clone Wars lol. I think of her as "VaderShep."

Still totally in love with this game. You can't take my heart away from Mass Effect 3.

It really is, this game crashes and burns in the most destructive spectacular way I've ever seen. It doesn't just destroy the game, it destroys the trilogy and nukes the entire IP into blackened ash.
The drop off in quality is about as aburpt as falling off a cliff 200 feet on to jagged rocks. One minute it's good then it's unbearably horrible to the point of physical revulsion.

That's probably the best description i've ever read about the ending.
I personally got absolutely no interest what so ever to replay this game again. It's dead to me unless things change..

So you let these few minutes destroy all those wonderful experiences you had with the games?
Well, your loss.
I certainly wouldn't want to miss or forget all those experiences, the people i met through them, even if only 5% of the final game maybe disappointing.
Speaking for myself, mentally, I get what you're saying. I'm telling myself the same thing. I know that no matter how the game ends, the rest is still fantastic, and nothing can change that.
But I think there must be some way my brain processes things, that it does affect how I feel about everything that came before those last 20 minutes. Maybe it's because I'm finding it hard to not take it all in as a complete story, instead of separate good and bad parts. It has sapped my desire to go back and play, at least for the time being.
I plan on going back and going through all three again, especially since I skipped massive amounts of stuff in three, but I need to wait until I'm less irritated at how it turned out. And I'm curious to see how Bioware responds to all the criticism.
Teagan Shepard will rise again. Ya know, until she gets to the end, at which point I'm turning off my game and writing some poorly written, albeit much more satisfying, fanfic.

So basically, we should be grateful for what the game gave us, and then took all of that away from us in the last 10 ****ing minutes ? Am I hearing this right or am I having a bad, narc-induced dream over here ?f1r3storm wrote...

Suffice to say I despised the endings. The Deus Ex ghost child was ridiculous. The choices were ridiculous. Not to mention it left me with a feeling of depressed emptiness and a longing for closure. I sat there thinking 'Everything I've done throughout the series has been completely pointless'.
And don't even get me started about how they handled the ME2 Romances (mostly Jacob and Thane). That was the biggest load of crap and lack of thought on the writers part I've ever seen.
I just feel the same way, when I started the way I felt so good, i laughed, i cried, i yelled "HELL YEAH", the combat perfect, everything was perfect. But at the end...I chose the "shepard survived" ending and even then..i didn't feel complete. I felt like..I did all this, all this for thing. I wanted a happy ending I wanted closure. i'm sorry bioware, you surprised me so much and made me happy, but you dissapointed me with this ending.

I'm pissed. I played the whole trilogy just to see this ending? Basically the worst case scenario - and I'm rather sure that I got the "good" ending. I don't know how I can play it again. Just to see that happening again. I need time.
Something positive.
EDIT:
I'm a bit confused about the readiness thing. Is it possible to get the best ending, what ever it is, when the bar is almost maxed even if the readiness rating is 50%?
I know, im crying right now. this sucks. I feel the same, i don't know if i want to play again for now.

It was easier accepting the fragmented nature of Mass Effect 2's plot line only because it was a middle game and not the finale. Who could blame us for finding it hard to get back into the ME3? I finished it this morning and I am still bothered by what happened in spite of the good parts throughout.
As for what f1r3storm said, other fans are completely justified in disliking the game because of the last ten minutes. Those last ten minutes essentially invalidated everything that was done up until that point and for a final game that doesn't really promise any sort of continuation, it's a big deal. I'm not looking forward to a multiplayer or an MMO that takes place in the same universe. I really only cared about Shepard's story.
Sometimes I wonder if the last part was just a nasty dream.

************ENDING SPOILERS**************
I still don't like the endings, but I am accepting it and moving on. I noticed my galactic readiness rating was slowly deteriorating (I had it up to 62% after playing Infiltrator on the iPad and it had dropped to 60% in the last day and half) so I decided to get serious about the actual ending I wanted before my score dropped below 4k. My first ending was accidentally chosen because I was tired at 2 a.m., didn't see the ramps to the other choices, and thought I had to head to the light to make my final choice. Shocked when she fell through. This time I chose to destroy the reapers because gd it, that's what we fought for the past three games and gd it, that's how it was going to end. I'm not letting them kill off my character. =p My head canon is that she'll find a way back to her crew because SHE IS COMMANDER SHEPARD.
Shepard: "Same here, Joker. I don't know how it's going to end, but whatever happens ..."
Joker: "What do you mean, whatever happens? Everyone knows what's going to happen."
Joker: "You're going to kick some Reaper ass. That's what you do."

I can't get this ending to trigger for me. :/ I'm almost positive that it's a glitch at this point, but I can't find anyone else who's had the same problem. Got my GR up to 100%, which gave me an EMS of close to 7000. That should have been enough to get the "Shep breathing!" cutscene after picking Destroy no matter how the final conversation with TIM went down, although I successfully Paragoned AND Renegaded it--no difference. No cutscene. :/ It really, really bothers me.
I'd be very curious to know if anyone else has bumped into this glitch? Couldn't get much response in my other thread.

I know what you mean. Once I know a character is doomed that colors my perception of them in all subsequent re-readings/viewings. I.e. the first time you hear character A tell character B they're going to have a happy future together, you're worried for them but at least you have hope. Afterward, that statement is just tragic.
