The thing is, for ME1 and 2 I could always trust that somehow, someway everything will work out. You have faith that no matter how bad things are if you worked hard enough, if you do enough side missions, get enough loyalty, enough points Shepard will find a way. The tunnel might be dark but in the distance you see the light. Mordin, Thane, and Legion deaths hurt but in the grand picture they were acceptable. I even had already accepted Anderson's death. It made the game beautiful with high and low peaks of emotions. But to have the floor suddenly dropped out from under you in the last 5 minutes of the game is a major downer. The only ONLY thing I can't accept is the separation thing. What sense does it make? Why? Why do that to our most beloved characters? I just see that as a fate worse than death to be stranded like that. Its not Eden its hell.

I can't get this ending to trigger for me.  :/  I'm almost positive that it's a glitch at this point, but I can't find anyone else who's had the same problem.  Got my GR up to 100%, which gave me an EMS of close to 7000.  That should have been enough to get the "Shep breathing!" cutscene after picking Destroy no matter how the final conversation with TIM went down, although I successfully Paragoned AND Renegaded it--no difference.  No cutscene.  :/  It really, really bothers me.

Wow, that's a pretty high score. Did you shoot TIM before he shot Anderson? (First renegade interrupt.) If yes, then wow, that's a serious bug. My EMS was over 4k, but I had to save Anderson to make sure I'd get the breathing scene. This would bother me a lot, too. I hope you get an answer on this.

Damn.  I haven't found anyone else who's had this problem, and it's really bumming me out.  I know that I can just pretend it happened anyway, but not actually "earning" it myself feels wrong.

You mean after Anderson gets shot once, right?  I haven't seen any interrupt or option to keep him from being shot the first time, but I've stopped TIM every time from actually finishing him off.  So I've gotten the nice sad scene where Shepard and Anderson talk before he dies.  And I've had the reputation/morality to pick all the Paragon/Renegade options.  I even tried it with both paths to see if you could only get the living ending via Paragon... no dice.

@meonlyred -- The separation thing bothers me the most. Even if she lives, she's still alone. I felt punched in the gut that she and Kaidan found their way back to each other after already losing each other once and then they lost each other all over again. I didn't think I could feel worse about how it ended until I read how bad it was for the other ME2 romances and that's when I knew this game was past the point of being fixed.

Ugh, you definitely qualify as "saving Anderson." Seriously uncool bug. I'll keep an eye out for other threads if anyone brings up this issue. Just FYI, don't know if it'll matter and don't want you to waste your time testing this out, but I never got the final renegade/paragon choice lit up with TIM. My reputation meter was maxed out so it couldn't have been that. Instead I got a renegade interrupt to shoot TIM myself (instead of him committing suicide). There's another renegade interrupt if you ignore the first one, but Anderson dies. Your score is so high that you should still be able to get the breathing ending whether or not Anderson lives. (Interesting thing -- I saw someone say if you ignore both renegade interrupts, TIM shoots you as well and it's game over.)

@Qwib - *hugs* I've been trying not to cry, too. Especially in front of my husband who has not played the game. I raged and told him how upset I was about how it ended. He looked at me and said that Bioware likes their sad endings, look at Dragon Age. I told him too bad for him because that meant we were going to cancel our subscription to SWTOR then. He left me alone.

Hahaha, thanks for that :) - I guess all we can do right now is rage anf fight for Shepard's happy ending.

Honestly the more I read the posts in this thread http://social.biowar...index/9727423/1 the more I'm convinced the ending is all a hallucination or something to do with indoctrination. It does make some sense considering all of the contact shep has had with reaper tech, hell the new normandy is partly based on reaper tech isn't it? I know EDI is in some way.

Though this could also just be a mix of denial and blind hope Bioware will do something about them.

@FFZero

I'm gonna go with denial and blind hope. Unless the developers say so, I'm taking it for what it is.

Patrick Weekes also admitted that they dropped the ball with Thane. I dunno if they said anything about Jacob. Anyway, unless they do something to remedy the ******-poor endings and glossed-over ME2 characters I'm still going to be pretty unhappy.

I'm not holding my breath.

As ADLegend said:

It was like playing a ballgame with all the bases loaded, then all you have to do is knock it out of the park.  Instead, they struck out.  Quite the appropriate metaphor.

I'm too scared right now to actually finish the game, based on all the spoilers I've read. :/ So I stopped playing after the love scene. At least Shep got some happiness there after everything she's been through.

I haven't even gotten that far yet Ryn. I'm taking my time cause I probably will never finish the game due to the endings myself. I will just think my shep killed the Reapers and got her happy ending with Liara.

My current file is my CharliexLiara one.....god... I don't even want to finish it, and I rarely, and I mean raaaarely protest games. I'm helping Tali right now and that's farthest I've gotten.

Charlie promised to always come back to Liara. If- and I mean a BIG if, Charlie will end up gravely wounded in London...........

The only glimmer of hope I get is that if she lives, then she can find the Normandy crew

Phoenix *nods* yeah... I hear you, not that far yet. Got the whole Salarian councilor request to do the citadel quest. Not even gone there yet. Just... can't seem to bring myself to play the game fully or enjoy it knowing what the endings are.

Hello FemShep fans! Hope you are all doing well.

I've been avoiding this place since just before release, because I wanted to make sure I got a full spoil-free play-through. Well, play-through complete, so here I am. Some things...

1.) Overall, I am quite happy with ME3. I had my doubts about Bioware's ability to pull it off before release, but I remained cautiously hopeful, and I feel that hope was rewarded. 99% of the game was pretty much outstanding and fantastic. The final 1%...

2.) Yeah, I'm pretty firmly in the ending sucks camp. Not thrilled with it at all. Pretty much everything after Anderson's death sucked (I only skimmed this page of the thread; is there a way to keep him alive?). Someone on YouTube did a nice edit for what the ending should have been:

Add some decent epilogue cutscene to that and roll credits, and it would be perfect.

HOWEVER, for me, the crap ending doesn't really spoil the great game. Though the ending sucked, it was a hell of an awesome ride getting there.

3.) I'm assuming most people had trouble getting their imports to have correct faces (like I said, haven't really gone back and read the last 200+ pages I missed). I'm glad I only had a few issues with Artemis. A direct import of the save file was really messed, but a copypasts of the ME2 facecode was pretty close to dead on. The nose shape was off by one slider notch, the eye-color and eyebrow color were completely wrong, and the hair was one shade darker than I liked. Luckily all very easy fixes. So, here's Artemis in ME3:
http://cloud.steampo...3201E9D0A3D36B/

4.) I LOVE the new armor. Much better than the linebacker armor of ME2 (though you can get shoulder and other mods to bring back the linebacker look if you want). As much as I miss Predator M, I was able to customize the armor to something I would definitely expect an infiltrator to wear.

5.) I LOVE the new NPC-NPC interactions. It's awesome to have crew members moving around the ship, talking to each other over comms, etc. So much better than both previous games. Well done there.

6.) I NEED MY FLYCAM! I've been pointed to the ME3 Coalesced Editor, but I haven't really fiddled around with it much. My first forray will probably involve separating out all of the many functions of the everything button to see if I can make sprint and jump one button, cover and roll another button, and activate yet another button. It seems like this won't be too difficult.

However, has anyone had any progress or know where to put in the bindings for freezing the action, toggling the HUD, and most importantly toggling the FlyCam? Also, it would be nice to put in the controls for flycam speed and different FOVs. Anyone have any luck with that? Can anyone point to a tutorial? Is it the same as the FlyCam commands from ME2 (because if so, I may be able to just copypasta my commands from my ME2 Coalesced.ini)?

Anyway, nice to be back. I'm sure my screenshot count will go through the roof as soon as I get FlyCam taken care of. But for now, they are limited to some cutscenes. You can see them on my Steam account in the new link in my .sig. (ran Origin through Steam and then ran ME3 through Origin, and thus was able to use the Steam overlay to take screenshots B))

Some of the armor pieces were real nice. I never tried the special one piece sets like the Collector armor because I wasn't sure if the helmet came off during cutscenes. And speaking of helmets, I've come across a glitch that causes Shepard to purse her lips in an odd way during some cutscenes and I think this was due to wearing the Recon Helmet with options set to "off" during conversations.

Anyhow, this was my favorite piece of armor during my first playthrough:

It can't be that bad!

It really is, this game crashes and burns in the most destructive spectacular way I've ever seen. It doesn't just destroy the game, it destroys the trilogy and nukes the entire IP into blackened ash.

The drop off in quality is about as aburpt as falling off a cliff 200 feet on to jagged rocks. One minute it's good then it's unbearably horrible to the point of physical revulsion.

So you let these few minutes destroy all those wonderful experiences you had with the games?

Well, your loss.

I certainly wouldn't want to miss or forget all those experiences, the people i met through them, even if only 5% of the final game maybe disappointing.

So basically, we should be grateful for what the game gave us, and then took all of that away from us in the last 10 ****ing minutes ? Am I hearing this right or am I having a bad, narc-induced dream over here ?

I'm very grateful for the most awesome experiences i had during the whole trilogy, aside from the Normandy part at the end. Thats the only thing that bugs me.

And i refuse to let it ruin anything else for me, because no other game made me feel so many different and strong emotions during the course of the story. That makes the game an outstanding achievement for me, regardless of what happens at the end.
