I also agree that Jessica Biel would be awesome as Shep. Shes athletic and beautiful!
Yes she is, and I think she'd be perfect as well. Unfortunately she's only done 2 action movies and one one where she got really physical, but she did get ripped for the role and pulled it off spectacularly.

Hrist! *swoons*
also, it took me a while to realize you'd named her after a valkyrie, which makes her extry cool.
Thanks, Sage.
And yes she is named after a valkyrie. I'm terrible at coming up with character names so I stole the names of all three of my Shepards from the tri-Ace series Valkyrie Profile. I didn't really want to use the name Hrist when I first created her, but now I can't imagine her being called anything else, it suits her prefectly.
oh, i haven't read that (seen that?) series. i was looking up names of the valkyrie on wikipedia in an attempt to name my skyrim toon (settled on Kara (pronouced Karr-Ah)). I saw 'Hrist' on the lsit was like Ohh!, nope, can't use that one. it's taken.

I think Rhona Mitra wuld be a great femshep, but I'm must admit I'd be curious to see Jennifer Hale have a crack. I don't know if she's ever acted before but I still would love to see her decked out in the N7 getup delivering those classic lines.
Melrose Place
Charmed
Big Bang
ER
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would would think it would be hilarious to reimagine those scenes w/ femshep.

the wait for femshep trailer is killing me ..... come on bioware....u guyz think is possible that the femshep trailer comes out after the demo ? :/
i wonder if they even made a FemShep trailer
i don't think EA wants to alienate the male-dominated CoD/Halo/Gow, a lot of those fans are either racists or sexists or both, i play a lot of CoD and Halo and i'm telling you there's a lot of racists and sexists and any female playing usually gets a "sexual talking" to, i also kno a lot of CoD/Halo players who won't get a game w/ a female protagonist unless she is a sex object like Lara Croft
Like i said EA isn't going to risk losing out of so much money
*note i do want a FemShep tralier

But then, I wonder how much of that is just me being trained to react to certain marketing.
At any rate, that's just the marketing. We all know the good stuff is on the inside where the real writing/acting/work happens. Like everything between FemShep and Mordin (which I was replaying and laughing my head off at once more) - the "good" stuff is all in jokes that would never translate to a marketing blip.
Personally, I think as games shift on the inside to be more inclusive, more 'what you want to make of it' and less straight white James Bond man, the more the fanbase will shift and the more the marketing will (hopefully?) shift, too.
This is my wish, anyhow.
And I still think it's a major coup that the femshep fans have gotten as much recognition for our favorite hero as we have, considering there was next to nothing prior to major fan prodding.

People say gaming is male dominated but i doubt it really is as much as people belive. Here in Sweden there was a "investigation" into the subject and the gaming was very similiar. More males did play but the difference was not as big as people thought it would be
Yeah i think so to Sage. As games become more inclusive the marketing will likely change at least a tiny bit
It was really awesome that we fans managed to give our favorite protagonist and hero the recognition she finally got.

Nope... she actually put that defination... not that hard...chicken,rice and a good weight training... plus that was about 6 or years ago when Blade Trinity came out.

But nothing brings out the sexists more than a female action hero. The amount of comments on Haywire being unrealistic because 'women can't beat men in a fight' is just mindblowing.

I sometimes wonder how male-dominated gaming *really* is. I mean, people say it is, marketing assumes it is. Even I tend to see a crew-cut white guy on the cover with a gun and go, "Oh, it's a serious shooter game." and if a girl is on the cover, I assume she's there as eye candy.
But then, I wonder how much of that is just me being trained to react to certain marketing.

My personal opinion is that gaming is a male dominated entertainment medium, but the ratio is probably closer to even than people think, and the gap is likely to keep closing as studios change their perceptions and game development/marketing strategies. I also think that, generally, people are affected by the societies in which they live, and violent games like shooters, complex games like some RPG's, etc are seen as "boy" activities, like (American) Football or baseball, etc. This is a gender bias that should change. As a male gamer myself, I've had to change my own thinking about gaming and gamers in general, simply because I am a product of my environment, and it's just not a girl thing to game. Obviously, that thinking and attitude are wrong, and I've had to readjust. Society needs to do the same readjustment.
FemShep (to keep this more specifically on topic) is an important early step to changing the perceptions of society as a whole. No, it won't revolutionize anything by itself. But Mass Effect is nominally oriented towards male gamers, and the fact that Bioware is now marketing the female protagonist is, in my mind, simply amazing. Yes, the marketing towards FemShep has left something to be desired, it's not perfect, there should have been more femShep images/videos released earlier in ME3's development cycle, but it's a good step in the right direction, and hopefully it will be recieved well enough that the trend continues.
This is why I love FemShep, and why her story has become canon to me. I love my dudeShep, don't get me wrong, but Shepard is female in my mind, and her story rocks, both in-game, and out-of-game.

I'd say alot of entertainment is still male dominated. Not the audience themselves just the people making them. Everyone develops for the male 18-34.

well i don't kno a lot of females who play CoD/Halo/GoW and these are the fans . . . . i mean custome . . . i mean the money that EA wants, i'm not saying i'm sexist or anything since i have both a male and female Shepard, i'm just saying that EA wants the money these fans have and will do anything to get it, even alienating hardcore, loyal female ME fans b/c they would consider it as an "acceptable" loss, tho i'm not sure why they would do it since most CoD/Halo/GoW fans have 0 interest in Mass Effect, since it , you know, actually has a story

This may be a stupid question but...
...is your femshep a smoker? If so, which brand does she smoke?
I've never really considered any of my Sheps as smokers since (A.) I don't smoke and (B.) it's rarely shown in the game by other NPCs anyways let alone Shep lighting one up. As for drink, yeah, I think all my Sheps have a problem... like me. meh.....
