Methinks that might be a fruitless endeavor.

Flycam.  It eases the pain.  A little.  Tiled shot, hellllooo.  PM me if you need help, editing is a little different in ME3.

Really.  Pause and flycam nova, and come back to me =)

Eh.  It's that time...

Okay, not able to stay away from endgame theories. Just gonna leave this video here.

IT's WAY too long in sections, but the things that are interesting to me are 1 - No one but Shepard ever saw that kid. 2 - around 10 minutes, it notes the voice channels for the StarChild are a combo of maleshep and femshep (hard to hear - not sure i'm buying that) and 3 - (this video doesn't note this, but you can see it) Synthesis and Control both turn Shepard's eyes into glowing TIM/Saren eyes just as shep disintegrates.

^male shep in that vid. makes me realize how much i prefer hale's delivery at the end.

In other news, if I feel up to it, I think I may try and set up flycam. Otherwise, I'm going to...dunno. Hit refresh on twitter waiting for better news?

I don't agree that the whole ending scene with Anderson and TIM is just end Shepard's head but that video does make some good points. And this is the first time that I noticed that TIM's eyes be come normal when you shoot him. (If its not a graphic glitch or an oversight)

I want to believe that the A,B, or C ending isn't what we think. If anything is a hallucination or part indoctrination its only the part with the kid. But after seeing this, I think what Bioware was going for was a The Lady or The Tiger ending. Making it were we each of us takes away something different from the ending. However the only thing I've taken away is that they completely failed to do that. I just feel bitter about a horrible end to a otherwise beautiful game. (The screwing over of ME2 romances not withstanding)

You still want to wave BioWare's flag ? good, get yourself to Canada and do it there.
Camp out in front of their HQ, whatever, but don't try to convince people that they actually delivered quality when all they did was to give us three different endings which differed on color and other minor technicalities.

Still? Lol, I just started! I've only been playing the Mass Effect series for a year and I haven't played any other games from them. I don't feel betrayed. I feel uplifted. They created a masterpiece.

The endings did not simply differ in color. There's one where you kill innocent life, including EDI and the Geth. There's one where you're reaperized. And then there's the good ending, where everyone is saved and Shepard's heart and soul synthesizes with ancient machines to usher in a new galactic era of peace and love, lol, or if you prefer the technical term, a "hard takeoff technological singularity" which some jokingly refer to as "rapture for nerds."

I'm trying not to link to wikipedia... must... resist... massive nerd moment.

Oh okay.

My answer.

"Those of you who have not emotionally invested themselves in these games since the first installment, leave the room. Now."

Pre-emptive response to the argument that the different colors have different meanings.  This might have been okay if they bothered to explain anything.  When you have this many people scratching their heads, you've done something wrong.  It's not high-minded.  It's just bad writing.

You and 5 other people. Since the endings are deliberatly vague and don't really wrap anything up and weren't designed to make any sense I could just as easily proclaim the end of Mass Effect 3 to be a biting social commentary on the German Reformation. You see the Reapers represent the corruption and decadence of the High Middle Ages Catholic Church while Shepard obviously a facsimile of Martin Luther nailing her proverbial 97 theses to the cathedral of the Galaxy with dreadnought rounds. Yet in the end the conflict between Othodoxy and Reformers is as unsolvable as the conlict between organics and synthetics only through the forced union of both can a new doctrine of eternal faith be created.

I'm suprised nobody else saw this it's so apparent.

I LOLed.  You pretty much brought forth my feelings on the subject with 100% accuracy.  Much love to you, my friend.

At least laughing keeps me from thinking about that empty Life Support room with the table, chair and Thane's coffee cup still sitting there.  Reminding me the entire game of what I've lost.

NAH, I'M NOT BITTER IN THE SLIGHTEST.

I'm assuming this was written in the spirit of "wow, watching FemShep overcome her pain to get the job done was beautifully inspiring."  Otherwise it's very creepy to look at a woman (or anyone) who's been beaten all to hell with blood dripping from her face and say it's beautiful.

The only thing that was beautiful about seeing Shep like that was watching her straighten up with determination as she made her final choice (I chose Destroy and saw her straightening her back and drawing up her strength for those last shots; I'm assuming the other two endings have something similar.)  The rest of it, seeing how maimed and horribly in pain she was, was not beautiful by any stretch of the imagination.

I like high concept, but only when it's done well and not thrust upon the viewer, reader, player, etc at the last minute. I think the "make up your own mind of how it ends" would work if that's what they were orginally going for. Insteade it feels tacked on and cheap.

Yeah, let's not make the FemShep thread hostile. This is one of the few sane places left on the BSN. And if that vid offends, I'm sorry. Was just my, 'huh, that's interesting. Wish it were true' take on things. I guess I'm just clinging to the denial/hope that Crucible is a weird name for a weapon and there's probably a reason for that.

But it may not be. However, I trust Shepard more than I trust badly-voiced grandpa man. My bias, anyhow.

Alright. I think I'll go away for a while now and see if there are any other rocking female heroes I adore as much as femshep that get a better ending to their story. :|

I was not offended by your post or the video linked within it, i'm offended by BioWare.

okay, good.

I don't have the link handy and it might have been brought up in this thread, but I'm sure you've heard about the next DLC allegedly being called 'The Truth,' yadda yadda. Truth or not, the outline listed did make sense, that it does matter which choice you make with the space kid because that decision will carry through as Shepard snaps out of it. It might make the Harbringer respond to Shepard differently or something like that. It made enough sense for me to decide that I was going to import my pro-Cerebus gal and choose to control the reapers and see how that plays out after breaking out of the hallucination. This is just spectulation on my part. I'll see if I can dig up the link. (Edit: I can't find it. The image has been removed.)

Yeah, I did see that. I suppose what I'm really looking for now is a nod from BioWare - something more than just a "we're listening" response. Sad thing is, doesn't seem like we'll be getting one any time soon from the looks of things. :( I'll try not to get my hopes up too high until then.

I am sold on the Indoctrination theory though. Just be taking a break from speculating for a while. It's proving very unhealthy for me.

Thanks Tup. Gotta love that hoodie~

Aye, I am. I couldn't complete 8 of my missions after some point. Presidium Commons locked me out.

I'm not sure what to make of Grunt's mission against the Rachni. On the one hand I'd feel rather stupid letting the Rachni queen die in spite of my choice to save her in the first game. On the other hand it doesn't seem right to ask Grunt and his team to risk their lives for a creature that was once their enemy. Aside from Grunt, who has every reason to be loyal to Shepard, what was their motivation for following Shepard's orders? For Devi this is yet another guilty weight she has to carry across her shoulders. Soldiers dedicate their lives to save others, but no one likes to be the one accountable for a comrade's death.

Image IPB

Image IPB

Image IPB

Sometimes I feel kind of sorry for James. There's a lot in the galaxy he has not seen meanwhile Devi can sometimes be so blase' about it all. The more I play this game the more willing I am to accept why he's not a love interest. With Devi's age, experience, and personality I think a relationship between the two in an alternate playthrough would feel wrong. Devi is someone James looks up to. He has a strong love for tough women but he knows Devi is off limits. Maybe that's why he loves to flirt with her. She's in the safe zone.

During my first playthrough I really did believe that Grunt died. It was such a relief seeing him walk out and slump into Devi's arms. I felt bad enough about his team.

@ flies: Totally with you there. I think as I made that decision in my game I muttered, "Fool me once, Shame on you. Fool me twice... Aw, screw it. There is no twice."

Haha. Sometimes I want to hit my head against the wall for being such a steadfast paragon. And how the hell did the Rachni queen get so big?

Throughout the entire mission I kept thinking of Ripley from Aliens. Each time I burned the eggs I muttered: "Get away from her you b_tch!"

I kept imagining Vega thinking, "How come YOU'RE the only one with a flame thrower?" FemShep just laughs maniacally.
