I've got the same feeling as you when I finished my first PT. It just didn't make any sense.

As for the synthesis choice: I personally think it is the worst choice of all. It's against everything (at least) my Shep believes in because you strip the free will off every species in the galaxy and turn them into some sorts of hybrid. It's just...wrong

I think Traynor is a wonderful character. I haven't had the opportunity to persue that story because the first two Shepards I imported, Cybill and Rhynne, were straight characters (although one did cave and succumb to Liara's persistence). But I have 9 more Shepards to import so one of them is bound to take a liking to the smart and lovely Miss Traynor.

When this happens, I'll be sure to post some of my crappy xbox photos.

Are you playing a different Char next playthrough?

I can't make up my mind for run number 3. I'm torn beween two "Mary Sue" Paragons (Jinx and Fiona) or super hard ass Renegades (Sam or Max).

How about you choose my next import for me? Here they are. You tell me which one to play and I'll do it (Keeps me from having to decide for myself).

I have only Tiia so I'll be using same Shepard. This time with Ashley alive and without any LI since Kaidan is dead (she's forever alone). I haven't decided what class I will use though. It's not going to be solider this time.

I'd say pick either Fiona or Sam. If your latest run was renegade pick paragon Shepard this time (or vice versa).

A good read, and I agree.

Now, whether any of this was intended or if it's just sloppy plotting hiding behind a curtain of "OH HO PERHAPS WE MEANT TO BE AMBIGUOUS" remains to be seen.  I certainly know *I* think, but I am a cynic.  Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Remade my texture project (album uploads bugged through project ID), split it into two separate projects now.
One for the custom textures done for the community and the other for the custom mole textures I've done for ME1 and 2 (which will soon be added for ME3 as well).

For those that noticed and are confused heh.

Um. Yeah.

I was sort of hoping that the "ENDING IS BAD" references I'd seen (and then promptly skipped away from to avoid spoilers) was whining from people who wanted total-win-with-fluffy-bunnies or nothing. I loved how my choices were woven through the majority of Mass Effect 3. I really, really loved Aki's longed-for rekindling of the relationship with her Kaidan (although felt bad for Thane/Jacob-mancers - ouch) and seeing all of my old squaddies in some capacity, even if minor. Mordin's death in particular choked me up, but worked for me - he went out with so much purpose that I couldn't interrupt him, it was his choice and it was right for him to do it. I would have loved something that even implied vaguely that Aki and Kaidan had a chance to finally have a life together (if I can have fluffy bunnies, hey, why not?), but accepted in advance that could be something of a cheat given the stakes - Shepard was unlikely to make it out alive, some supreme sacrifice would be required.

The endings....just seem like Deus Ex got pasted over Mass Effect for the final ten minutes. I don't get it, at all. Where does this weird blue child with it's three arbitrary choices come from? After how beautifully the majority of the threads from the previous games wove together (I speak for myself, your mileage may vary) I found it to be completely bizarre. I ended up tabbing out, googling for what the possible choices were and completely meta-gaming, picking synthesis since it was the "best" I could get given my EMS (no MP yet). I expect at some point I'll go back and pick destroy when I have high enough numbers to "get the gasp" just because then I can discount the ending scenes as a shock induced dream (including jungle crash landing with teleported squadmates) and imagine that actually everyone is still on Earth. It was just...weird.

Worse yet, I have no new Aki screenshots to share - FRAPS evidently bugged out on me and I was so busy playing the last four days (off work) I didn't notice. Woe is me. Instead, please have this old manip, where Aki has been taking tips from Ashley's stylist:

Heh, I'm devoted to one Shepard. I like my pro-Cerberus alt enough because her approach puts an interesting flavor on the game, but not really devoted to her (I barely take screenshots). The rest I've made to explore the other romances, but no interest in those Shepards long-term. For me, there is only my Joan. =p

Edit: I'm sorry, Lianna. It's a nasty shock, I know. Every other day, I get a PM from a friend who finally finished their game and they're equally as crushed. Before the game came out, I saw some hysteria about gloom and doom from those that read the leaked scripts. I dropped out of those threads, thinking they were being overly dramatic, but now I see why they were like that.

At that point in time, she probably didn't care.   In any event, it never happened since I reloaded.  I was boring for about a year and only had UJ. She's still #1.
