How's this for a start: did you ever wish you could drag around squadmates with you while ON the citadel, rather than walking around alone?  I for one kept wanting to drag everyone to Purgatory and prove to them all that shepard really CAN dance.

A couple times, but for the most part I found it liberating because it was a hassle picking two random squadmates every time I wanted to get off the ship just to do a fast turn-in. =p

What was a bit jarring for me was not being able to change my crew's on-board clothing. Like for example, EDI, she's a bit ... distracting for me in her default get-up so I put her in a full black suit, which I only see if she leaves the ship. Felt kinda pointless, but not a big deal.

(okay, mine can't, but she thinks she can)

No, actually. Posted Image Dragging squadmates around would mean that they would have to participate in whatever you are doing or risk looking like lifeless dolls, such as what happened in Mass Effect 2. It's good that Shepard has some privacy when strolling through the Citadel without having to worry about what her two "shadows" are doing.

Am I the only person who is totally astounded and grinning over this stuff? Like, I was all content to just make do with my headcanon and fanfiction. I still am. But hell, if there's more coming and they're taking the fans seriously, I will be happy with a capital thrilled.

Totally!  I mean I love the idea that the squaddies actually walk around the Citadel on their own and have their own interests, but it would have been nice to have been able to take your LI out and about.

Nope. You and I are pretty much on the same wavelength when it comes to this. I am super excited because extra content is coming (even though there's a risk that it still won't end well) and because making this gesture for their fans is huge. They could have stood their ground out of pride and said "working as intended." I have quit TV shows when writers were dismissive of fan reactions and their ratings took a nose dive as a result. Yes, the game should have shipped complete, but it is what it is and figuring out how to move forward is key. This is a good step in the right direction.

Edit: Awesome FemShep moment (for me)

I would say Eve was a big part of being a FemShep and renegade. I like playing renegade because Shepard basically speaks her mind and gets to the point. I also like that renegade doesn't always mean she's right in her approach. I like it when soft-hearted Kaidan pushes back and shows confidence in his position, when other members aren't afraid to say if they think Shepard is wrong. I get a lot more of these moments when I play renegade. Eve is a prime example of this. I decided to be honest with Eve and tell her that she was being rescued primarily because she was a bargaining tool. (Defeating the reapers was a bigger issue than making sure a race could procreate.) In the one-on-one chat, Shepard thought that Eve, as a krogan, would respect being a bargaining chip and Eve countered with "how well has that arrogance worked for us?" She showed her wisdom as a matriarch and there was a nice "girl power" moment about being two strong females changing the course of the future. Y'know?

Funny thing is, I was actually relieved that Shepard didn't have full armor and a squad at the Citadel. That always bothered me in ME2 (probably because of the Gears of War tank armor).

But that's just me. I'm nearly fanatical about immersion.

Speaking of renegade, I'm going back for an insanity renegade play through of ME2 using July Shepard's import from ME1 and May Shepard's face code from the ME3 demo. I love I love I love my calendar girls.

She's a Sentinel with Dominate as her extra power. Ooo that's gonna be naughty. And she's gonna romance Jack. XD

Thinking about going back and giving her the shaved head look to make her harder features stand out more.

She's emblematic of my being pissed off with all the whiners regarding the ME3 ending. I'll take it out on the game instead of you guys lol.

Cool. Not ready to do so myself. Go July.

I'm not sure when it comes to the little boy in the opening sections. I think that first scene with him playing with his spaceship I would say is real in my opinion, but anything after that it's up in the air. I agree with Ottemis in that he's just something to represent Shepard's guilt or fear of what will happen to people if Shepard fails.

When it comes to the ending and the indoctination stuff. I'd like to think it was true, but I think it's just pieces left over from when BioWare were going to go with that (as they admitted), but couldn't get it to work due to time restraints, or gameplay reasons, or whatever, so it was ditched. I just think any company that would dare to pull off something like that in the last game of a trilogy would have to be incredibly brave, clever and confident. They would also be a little bit stupid to try it too as it has the potential to backfire horribly. Just look at what's going on now with regards to ending discussions. It's just too much of a gamble in my opinion.

yep. and i think if indoctrination is true, that's going to be the tragedy of my playthroughs. i started a handful of shepards, but several of them would choose control or synthesis. so if that's the end for them... huh. not sure if i'm going to do playthrough in that case.

See, I'm having the opposite problem.  I was all ready to make different choices for all my various Shepards, but I just can't even imagine RPing a Shepard who *wouldn't* choose Destroy.  Even if I'm not buying into the indoctrination theory (and I do), I just can't imagine any of my Shepards taking what that kid says at face value.  Why would she assume she could control the Reapers and TIM couldn't, especially when she has a conversation full of auto-dialogue along the lines of "TIM YOU CRAZY, YOU CAN'T DO THAT"?  And synthesis has its own problems, but I won't go into it.

Ditto. I wouldn't be supprised if it was a pre-ending mission with lines of dialogue between characters called Scientist A and Scientist B talking about how the ending events are possible. Scientist A could loudly state that he has written a paper on the Spacechildren, a super advanced race that lived at the dawn of time, before Scientist B suggests that maybe they created the Reapers, wink, nudge.

DLC cynicism aside, has anyone else noticed the 'leg position' on Aria's sofa if Shepard is wearing the dress?... I thought the point of FemShep unique animations was to fix stuff like that. :?

I only wore it once and that happened. Damn my luck.

If the camera angle had stayed fixed to the faces it wouldn't be a problem. I didn't notice until it shot to a full length of the sofa. I love FemShep's slightly hench mannerisms but it was in a club... I thought I'd wear par-tay clothes...

I didn't like the dress to begin with. I don't even touch it now.

So you're dissappointed in how the Rannoch, Tuchanka, and Citadel storylines were written? Maybe how well the majority of the characters were wirtten? disappointed in Wrex, Aria, Garrus, Kaidan, Ashley, Vega, and all the other golden material in the game before the endings? BEcae yeah Mac Walters is responsible for that too. through all the anger over the endings people forget that Mac had stake in all the moments that made us cry, squee, and get into this game as much as we did to even be angry at the ending being out of left field and he deserves as much credit for the 40 hours of gameplay as much as he deserves criticism for the 5-10 minutes of the starchild ending but that seems to slip everyones minds and it's pure BS.

This. Kids don't talk like that. At the time I thought, geez, clearly the writer for that kid doesn't know kids. a normal kid would say 'where's my mom?' or 'i saw a lady with blood all over her.' or just cry.  they don't say 'you can't help me.' most kids that age still think adults have all the answers. they don't give out accusatory statements when hiding in air ducts. it's just weird.

Combined with the fact that nobody seems to notice him...part of a plot or just game limitation?

@Tup: did you get it? if you did how is it?

Miss it...

What exactly? Can't remember getting that either... (And my brain doesn't work well at all, eyes skip frames at the moment too when moving head around) I haven't really made much progress in week thanks to this damn flu. May have to go to see the doctor tomorrow so that I get the sick papers for employee.

Well, then you should probably take the time to read the rest of my posts before making assumptions.
