Maybe old news to some but I was in Gamestop today and noticed they had ME3 copies with FemShep on the front cover. I totally didn't know they had those. My fiance was like "Oh no, did you not get the FemShep one? Please don't ask the clerk if you can swap covers!" Luckily I have the CE so she's on it. Now if I could just find a poster of the FemShep cover...

You can flip the cover on any standard edition. Male or Female.
:)

Edit: Femshep for teh top.

Oh. Well considering they always market Sheploo it's nice to see that FemShep option.

Has it ever occured to you that people are this upset over the ending because the rest of the game was brilliant?

This is exactly why I'm upset. I don't think there was a single part of the game prior to the last five minutes that I didn't spend enamored with some aspect of the dialogue, the action, the animation, or the story. Mass Effect 3 is a good game. The missions are varied in their content and scope, the length of each right in that pocket of 'just long enough to not become tedious', the character interactions and development are fantastic, and the plot is of an appropriately epic proportion while still allowing the player vignettes of individual points of drama and struggle representative of the larger galactic conflict. There's action, adventure, romance, mad science, comedy, tragedy. It was good. It was great. It was so close to being perfect. And then in the eleventh hour it all unraveled.

Personally I just imagine that it all ends with Shepard and Anderson up on the Citadel; they beat the Illusive Man, activate the Crucible, fire zee missiles, and call it good.

Edit: sorry, I know that comment was like five pages ago, but I just now caught up.

No need to apologise.

I would've been more than satisfied if they had just scrapped the Normandy crashlanding on Plothole Planet sequence, kept the Shepard survives scene and added an additional scene where Shepard's ground team pulls her out of the rubble. Cue to Faunts and voilà.

Noah! so cute!

i like to think they did that because IT was always the plan with DLC, but they needed to close things off for people who were only going to play the main game.  this is my happy headspace for the moment. but my fan-headspace is running bipolar atm, so who knows if i'll still believe this by bedtime.

@Avolie -- Wow, love the green eyes and dark hair combo. She looks fierce.
@Chig -- I love seeing screenshots of your gal. Hope there's more coming.
@Eshaye -- I agree with Sage. Some femsheps can really pull off that hairstyle. Yours looks great. I had tried it out on mine, but I got as far as Mars before I decided she really was not rocking that style at all. =p (I can admire from afar on others though!)

I adore Kaidan, I really do. But if he trips over something in a creepy, creepy, creepy monastery again, he's going to stay on the Normandy for a long time. I nearly had a heart attack.

thanks! my fan headspace is currently devoted to trying to write a good opening chapter for my me3 fanfic. the tone is supposed to be lovely and slightly bittersweet. but then i keep thinking up songs that kyrie put on her 'broke up with kaidan' music playlist and i start laughing out loud and my husband is 'helping' by suggesting names for mass effect universe bands.

=]

also, @ chig - yes. when kaidan tripped, it took a year off my life. i nearly biotically meleed him in fright.

Hahahahaahahaaaaa.

Edit: I'm glad I did a second playthrough. The first game I did the DLC first thing to unlock the new character because I thought he'd be cool and I'd want him around at the start. (I had no idea it would take Kaidan so long to join the crew officially.) The second time I delayed the mission until I got Kaidan so I could hear all of Kaidan's comments on returning to Eden Prime. Worth it.

Hi all, how's everyone doing? It has been quite awhile since I left a post here and god it was so hard to avoid spoilers.

I have finished Velina's playthrough 2 days ago, when someone from the chat room asked me how do I like the ending, I said  <spoiler> ,"Everything happen after the laser blast from Harbringer is not real, like a dream or something." Then, I come across the indoctrination theory and that is an amazingly done theory with strong reason to support the whole idea. Like some of you in here, I do agree on this theory but not completely, there are some parts that I still could figure it out. May be anyone in here could answer that for me. :D

Assuming Shepard survive, (choosing the destory/red option) what do you think is happening at that moment?
Is the crucible work at all? Has the reapers been beaten?
rom that little scene, there is no firing or anything blasts at all, it is just plain silence. Do you think the war has ended?
Lets assume the theory is right, why does the reaper still insist to indoctrinate Shepard once and for all? Anderson is the one who lead the final assault...

I took my time and tried to run back and regroup, and I ended up dead. Does anyone make that attempt as well? XD
And here are some shots I took during the playthrough, don't worry though, this is not a picture bomb ;)

He shoots at Shepard thinking she's a Cerberus space ninja. I guess that helped to put things into perspective.

@Sage:

I can't wait to read it.

Edit

@Gilsa:

I loved taking Liara and Kaidan to Eden Prime. Their banter was cute and I loved the extra dialogue Shepard gets with Kaidan in the shuttle.

The classy hairstyle looks great on your Shepard, by the way. I was a bit disappointed by what they did with the old bob hairstyle.

Does Kaidan get more dialog than, say, Vega or Garrus?

I need to remember to delay Eden Prime until after I get him back in this current pt.

Javik can wait just a bit longer I guess

Kaidan gets a dialogue about what happened on Eden Prime in ME1. He even talks about Jenkins a bit. He also teases Liara much like James does, but instead of the "I just like dinosaurs.", he says "Nah!".

^ I am VERY torn in ME3. ME1 was a no brainer to me: Kaidan + Garrus joined Kyrie everywhere. Kaidan is the officer you have from the start, I find him trustworthy and hella useful. I felt like taking Garrus was sort of a stand that "I trust our alien allies" and since he's the (former) officer, I felt more comfortable with him than wrex and he had more experience than liara and tali. except feros, i tend to bring tali, because of the geth connection.

ME2 was garrus as the no-brainer (helped you take down saren) and miri as my kaidan-replacement, sorta? she's useful and i kept feeling like she'd never let me leave her behind.

ME3 though, i recruited kaidan way late. i thought he was going to be in coma whole game (that's what i thought they were going to do with the romance) so i picked him up only in time to do a few missions. so it was me and garrus at first, but james's frag grenade was awesome, and then i was feeling so happy to see liara and tali again, i seriously could never decide on a party. also edi wanted to play. i think javik was the only guy who got left behind always. he musta hated my shep. ><
