On the subject of the Plothole Planet...how do people feel about the specific scenario where Shepard's LI lives and is seen exiting the Normandy?

I believe there was similar question some time ago and if I remember correctly I talked about finding an axe and daddy being angry etc. (you get the point).

So basically the person that had the seal of approval suddenly started running in opposite direction, left Shepard alone and somehow managed to run/fly/teleport back to Normandy after all that never leave you boul**** talk... Sure, I was a bit angry. then I realized that this all made no sense at all.

At least my alternate canon version (Ashley alive) doesn't have to deal with dying or running LI's. Ah the benefits of being forever alone.

I think that whatever their intent was with that Normandy scene, they really didn't think it through.
As much as I don't like to tag something as oversight, this would be one. Definitely.

This was the most gnarly part of the ending for me. I'm probably being selfish, but in Aki/Kaidan's case I would have felt a bit better with "together in death" if they couldn't be together in life. Kaidan already knows what it's like to live through Shepard's death and it's heartbreaking to think that he'd have to go through it a second time.

Do Liara-mancers find this to be less of a problem because Liara would have long outlived Shepard regardless? Do Thane-mancers find "together in death" to be any help or does the general crappiness of the Thane romance treatment in ME3 sour everything for you?

Well, Talia knows that Liara will outlive her anyway under normal circumstances, but a part of her would survive in the little blue babies
I also think that the little kids would make it easier for Liara :)

@Jamie -- Erica looks great with that haircut. It really suits her. Great shots!

@Interactive -- I like your green armor pattern. Your FemShep is rocking it.

@Lianna -- re: love interest on Normandy in the end. At first I was relieved he was alive and then enraged when I realized none of the endings allowed for them to find each other again. I had just finished telling him screw the score, I was coming back and this happened. When I read how bad it was for the ME2 romances, I knew I was no longer in a position to complain about it. (I am still selfish enough to want to be able to return to my LI in the end, no matter who I romanced. Except for Jacob. =p)

@raziel -- I swear, when Shepard got those glowy eyes in Ashes, I flipped out for a second thinking she was indoctrinated until I realized it was related to the beacon. Was not prepared for that. =p

@Lehna -- I love your Shepard's cute face! The upturned nose and the mouthshape really compliment each other nicely.

Funny thing is, I was actually relieved that Shepard didn't have full armor and a squad at the Citadel. That always bothered me in ME2 (probably because of the Gears of War tank armor).

But that's just me. I'm nearly fanatical about immersion.

I second that. It's logical to think that some kind of gun/armor restriction is in place for anyone visiting the citadel(even spectres). Dressing in blue is fitting if you seek an audience with the council. C - sec having jurisdiction, would be the only corps authorized to pack heat within its walls. Goind ashore alone is fine; although being able to choose to go alone or not is even better.

It's funny how much things have changed since ME1. Then, even before you were a spectre, you're walking around with a squad in full armor with weapons you can't even USE (or my adept couldn't. "Oh, this spectre-issue sniper rifle? yeah, it's just to complete the set.")

and now, when the entire galaxy is in danger and there are indoctrinated peeps and cerberus plants and terrorists hiding with the refugees all over the citadel, i'm a spectre wandering around in my civvies without a gun. i mean, it's hard to disarm a biotic, so i'll run with it. but still.

C - Sec officer: Freeze! Get on your knees! Put you biotics down!
Suspect: Excuse me?
C - Sec officer: Just don't glow blue or i'll taze your amp.
Suspect: Don't taze me(edited)!

Speaking of biotic Shepards, can you help me with something Sage?

I've NEVER played a biotic Shepard (I must confess, I played 10 soldiers before finally going infiltrator with Rhynne. For ME3 I changed Fiona to an Engineer........I'm kinda sick of soldier by now as you can imagine). I never thought it made sense. I tried playing a Biotic shep once but when she talked/flirted with Kaiden and there was no mention of her biotics or a "why the f*** weren't YOU on jump zero?", it felt broken to me so I bailed on it.

Is the "Biotic Shepard" properly explained/fleshed out? Did I perhaps have a user error brain fart on my one halfhearted attempt at one? Because if that story is properly fleshed out, I'm liable to start FEMSHEP #12, as an adept in Mass Effect 1.

Sorry for the ramble.

I think 'vomits blood' covers it pretty well. Its a cute idea, return to Eden. Until you start thinking about the horribly inbreed children. Or how in a handful generation they will all die out regardless. Or how returning to a state without technology and back to nature is a romantic idea until someone gets sick or hurt. But the main thing is that it freaking implies that your LI abandoned you on Earth!!!!

I understand they wanted to show you that your LI was still alive, but WTFBBQ. Hopefully, they will fix that. And give us an epilogue that isn't so stupid. If not I'm headcanoning the crap out the ending anyways.

I can't believe I spelled Kaidan with an E. I've got a head cold right now, so that'll be my excuse.

Regardless... stellar voice work from all involved, but Hale, Sbarge, Hillis and Keener stood head and shoulders above the crowd as the real stars of the game.

I don't know who the voice actor for Kaidan is but he was fantastic. I wish he was the male Shepard. Would be nice to play my own gender at least ONCE. :P

I gotta agree with you Red.
"Back to Nature" is a beautiful concept, but let's face it: Most of us here wouldn't stand a chance out in the wild, without any kind of technology, and I don't even mean the Internet, but more basic stuff like heaters and groceries from the shops.
We have become so dependent on technology in any shape or form that we can barely survive without it any more.

Pretty much this.  Although, at the same time I could imagine Alice ordering Garrus to take Liara away before the charge to the beam, since she wouldn't be able to do what might need to be done unless she knew Liara was safe.

But that still requires accepting that they were on the ship in the first place.  Blood!Vomit is still the correct response to that.

I've always wondered why your squad mates wouldn't try to finish the mission after the beam hit Shepard...no, they just left.  Like, is Shepard the only one that can use the beam or something?

I probably shouldn't think too much about this.

Wasn't there some cut content where you see your squadmates get obliterated by Harbinger's beam?

Yes but that happened before Shepard gets knocked out.

I just can't believe they simply left and went back to the Normandy after Shepard gets knocked out.

I can go as far as believing that my Shep would want Liara safe. I can see her requesting tha t Liara not make the run to the beam. However, I can't imagine Liara or any LI willingly boarding the Normandy and effectivly abandoning Shepard.

The more I think about it all though, the more it kinda hurts my head.

I was a little skeptical about the raptor - always thought it was a glorified battle rifle rather than a sr - until i saw Ashley use it. Now i'm completely sold. This thing can inflict serious punishment. It doesn't even look like it makes a difference to her that it's semi auto.

Saturn,

That rifle is BEAST in multiplayer. Oh.....uh.......er.......yeah I caved, purchased XBOX Gold and started playing. I'm sick of watching my lovely girls die. But yeah I'm playing it too. It's not so bad.

Um...well. There is one line in ME1 conversation between Shepard and Kaidan which touches on Shepard being biotic. I've only ever been able to get it by snuffing out the Kaidan romance in the very first convo, although other people in the Kaidan thread say they have been able to get it whilst romancing. So if you're looking for in-game acknowledgement, I'm afraid it's sparse.

However...the codex entries seem to imply that Shepard was a late bloomer e.g. was exposed to eezo in utero but only developed a biotic inclination during puberty after a secondary exposure. Looking at the timeline I wrote out (yes, I am that geeky when doing background work) Shepard's biotics probably didn't manifest until a year at most before BAaT was shut down, and she wasn't officially detected until two years after Conatix folded. So it's reasonable to assume that she and Kaidan wouldn't have trained together or known of each other until assigned to the Normandy.

It'd also imply that Joker chickened out and fled the battle over Earth since he was near the Charon relay long before Shepard made her decision on the Citadel.
