^^Animations, yeah, definitely. It might not really show in screenshots but animations definitely look better.

There's this one thing that annoys me a bit. Lighting changes the hair colour a LOT in ME3.
Posted Image
For example here, looks like someone dyed her hair to chestnut instead of dark brown.

Yeah i noticed that in ME3 aswell but not nearly as much as in ME2. The differences in that game was huge

I forget what triggers it but it's pretty damn funny. What tops it off is that a young lady (the one that worked at Flux in ME1 and had a mission regarding her twin sister) is so impressed by Conrad's bravery that he ends up scoring a date of sorts.

This actually really bothered me. Isn't Conrad married?

Well considering he was always making comments about how "supportive" his wife was of his activities and "even bought me a ticket offworld", I think it's pretty safe to assume that Conrad was likely dumped by ME3. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

@Interactive Civilian,
Conrad was married, and then his wife bought him tickets off world. *Asari bartender facepalm*

LOLNOPE

Shepard can ask him if he lost anyone on Earth and he's like "Oh no... a few extranet friends maybe" and Shep asks about his wife... at which point he stutters and stammers and admits that he made her up.  Posted Image  That's what led to the hilarious "just a poster and a few candles; very tasteful" comment for me.

EDIT: You could assume they got divorced, but the way Shepard says "Do you even have a wife" and his response implied that he never had one at all.

Oh...........well........there it is then.

Wow nice. But that remains me, wtf happened to the new hair styles? The Betty Page, the emo, and the crop? And I wanted Jane's default hair for my main so damn bad!! Its a crying shame that when you mod it on it clicks that bad. I would happy as a lark if Ashley hair would have worked.

That's a cool article. his personal site has nifty arts, too - though he could win an award for the drawing of most impractical armors.

I think Samantha mentions it briefly when talking about Grissom Academy

She does, and Kaidan also mentions it again briefly in 3 if you talk to him at the hospital - "But, you don't need me to tell you that" on the end of a conversation about prejudice against biotics. I completely understand from a resources point of view why you don't get more specific acknowledgements, but it can be a little jarring in certain situations. Fanfic usually solves this for me - sinvraal and Sage are particularly good with the biotic stuffs.

Ah, that was another thing I thought was particularly cool - the double throw power! Husk bowling just got even more fun!

@Chig: I just noticed that Noah is rocking the same colour scheme as Kaidan - nice touch!

Edit: Eeep. I have no blue glowie stuff from 3 yet, so I'll go back a game...

I, too, was THRILLED to see the return of Human Biotics Subplot ™.  Very small thing, but it was ditched in me2 after being kinda interersting me1. i think the main thing was that this omission made kaidan sound like this whiner - being a biotic was HARD, but then jacob's all like, 'yeah, i'm a biotic.' and you never hear a thing about it for a whole game. i'm thinking now it was just something they didn't go into for a game.

Re: Princess Bride references: you guys rock. and you make me feel not so old. i made some princess bride reference in kung fu class, and none of the kids got it. they all just looked at me with this blank expression. it was heartbreaking to me.  kids these days... :P

hawt armor is hawt. i would be looking at her butt, too.

also, i still need to figure out armor to use for kyrie. after the jumpsuits, it's all feeling wrong.

i find it HILARIOUS that Kaidan has reave. liara has singularity and stasis, which *could* be used only to hold an enemy, but really are deathtraps. but then kaidan has reave, which is just this massive ripping of PAIN. it's glorious. totally reminds me of his neural shock, where i was always like, 'kaidan! you're such a nice guy. what did you just DO to that person?'

also, interesting article re: endings: Did the Real Endings go over everyone's heads? <-- this is kind of what I've been thinking, so it's interesting to read a major source like forbes actually talk about it. even if not IT, i think his point about the dLC is a good one

@Sable -- Sorry and I totally relate. I was bummed for several days. And then I drank the kool-aid on the indoctrination theories and that helped me do a second playthrough and really pay attention to the things I missed the first time. Happy they're going to provide "clarity" to the endings, whatever that is, but there is still the risk that it's still going to end badly so I feel your pain. ;)

Edit: @Axis -- Oooh, great balls of purpleness! Awesome shot!

I totally buy the Indoctrination Theory too.  It's the only way that the ending we got makes any sense whatsoever.  Here's the problem, though.  Regardless of whether it's a true theory or not, it doesn't make the ending any more emotionally satisfying.  After going through a 120+ hour journey with a character, we require catharsis.  We require resolution.  We require closure.  The ending to Mass Effect 3 gives us none of these.  It gives us ambiguity.

The universe of Mass Effect is not an ambiguious universe.  More importantly, Shepard is not an ambiguous character.  They are both done a disservice with a story that delivers an ambiguous climax.

Didn't bother me much. It hurt to see my beautiful girl's face melt off but that is a good thing (feeling emotion).

I don't buy the indoctrination theory either so I'm obviously out of step with the room. Posted Image

@Sage,
LOL I thought the same thing. Kaidan is down right evil with his skills. My last playthrough I had Vega and Kaidan and they just did not die...ever. Well there was this one time with the M-920 Cain at the end of the game with a banshee and them being too close, but let's not talk about that. Let's just say Zody is the worst Space Girlfriend ever...

I spent one whole battle with Garrus in a crumpled heap of turian. i felt like a jerk friend, until i realized medigel did insta-rez if i couldn't get mah butt over there to do MP-style revive.

seriously, i need to review counters and such. it felt like things changed a little. warp vs. armor seemed nerfed, but it did seem to work against shields?  does anyone know about that or have a link to changes?

Well I'm back and I brought a few more pics. Regardless of other feelings about this game, I have to say I'm pleased at how they made Shepard seem more real in her animations. Plus the staging was just great at a lot of the big scenes. Without further ado: More Lia!

Me three. I was storming the citidel with this bunch this morning before work. These two tanks combined with my Engineer Fiona is just way overpowered. I'm either going to have to bump it from Hardcore to Insanity or play "Dead is Dead".

I'm doing some lore axing... From this point forward Tiia never had LI. There was on full Kaidan LI playthrough but that is not going to happen any more. It never felt right. I've had too many forever alone runs with her before that rather long test run to change that. So, back to original (Shepard walks alone and Ashley survives). That's how it has been and that's how it will be.

Turrets and combat drones my friend (assuming we're talking Engineer). It keeps 'em off of you then just alternately spray them with the inferno blast and a weapon that is really good against armor (Carnifex hand cannon should do it). Also keeping your weight low so you can absolutely SPAM with your powers is key.
