Anyway did anyone get the distinct feeling that Bioware really thinks FemShep is gay, or a least Bi?  I mean she really was getting into dancing with the Asari and then later the human woman on the dance floor in Purgatory!   I honestly thought she was going to to thrust her up against the wall at one point

:P

While ME3 is much better at giving us a femshep perspective, the game is primarily wriiten for maleShep.

*nsfw ramblings*

That or it's written taking the femsheppers in mind, not because they're nessecarily lesbian/bi, but some count among the exeptions of people that can make me doubt my own alighnment. Yes, I'm looking at you, Red/Ais. I'm also hoping this level of 'kid' can be handled in the current crowd =P

Also, not that I have any evidence supporting it, but do you think girls are less 'anally fixated' then guys? Asin, I've always had the idea that most girls are less opposed to gay concept than the average men are, but then we already consider plugged holes as the status quo, and with two girls together that's even optional.

Even so, I want Vega. Why U NO romance?

Euhh, sure, toss this up top of page, so I can feel like everyone read it and is now silently judging me to be bat**** insane. They're not wrong, but you know =P

yeah straight femshep is screwed if Kaidan is dead. No man to warm hr heart while she goes through the toughest war in the history of the galaxy. Thane dies and Jacob Cheats. Joker's in love with an AI, and Vega's all talk and no actio besides getting punched in the face and doing chin ups. Good thing Kallens' bi or else she'd have died a virgin if not for samatha since Ashley was not playing Ball like Kaidan does on MShep.

So they are not changing the ending, just going to explain it and charge money for it.

I'll try to reserve judgment until I see it.  But...  Part of me really wanted the option of a Mega-Happy Ending™.

I'm totally in favor of Shepard dying. I think it's fitting (besides being VERY likely) and a very small price to pay for stopping the reapers. But I do agree with those that find the ending too convoluted and the stuff with the Normandy causing more "WTF" questions than answers.

However, for me, a syrupy ending in the mold of Return of the Jedi just may drive me to point a nail gun at my forehead and pull the trigger. As would a cure for Thane's disease. I mean....fricken just kill me.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid > Return of the Jedi.

But the key word in what you said is OPTION. And more options, even one that would make me power puke, is never a bad thing.

Well, yeah.  I mean, have you SEEN metacritic? 90% from critics and 3.7 from fans. that's a huge discrepancy, right there. so if they decide to explain things (esp. if they follow through on indoctrination theory) then what are they going to do? "Thanks Gabe/NYC/CNN for your awesome reviews! Btw, you failed to notice that this wasn't the real end of the game and the ending you thought you liked so much? it may have doomed us all." yeah, not going to happen.  frankly, i think they decided to end the game AT the critical moment of 'the twist' in hopes they could do the rest of the game as DLC and in so doing wrote themselves into a corner because the fans hated it/didn't get it (i mean, at least some of us aren't getting this. i'm not sure which of us, but some of us. 'cause there's a lot i don't 'get'). anyhow, this is what i think.

and @ jamie - i would also be a sucker and pay for that DLC. with that said, i will likely never pre-order a bioware game again, even if the DLC is amazing. ME3 has seriously damaged my trust in bioware as the maker of all things awesome always forever and ever.

@ ottemis - you are hilarious. truly, truly.

@ mizznaa - i <3 you too. :)

Yeah, option is definitely the key word.  What I dislike is that this set of endings seemed to have been contrived simply to force Shepard to sacrifice herself.  Something that in any other setting may have been preventable with the right selection of squadmates, resources, etc.

That's grimm...I'm glad i went bi(actually lesb). Although i still didn't get any action since Ashley decided that getting drunk with Vega was more fun than spending some time with Shepard.

I get you what you saying... I think most man(speaking from a male  POV here)  most its an issue of  security.  When I was younger..  I would a bit put off to the Male/Male no while not my cup of the tea - I don't mind it all.   Plus I know what I like  and what I'm attracted too(While Cortez is a great pilot... Tali has my MaleShepard on lock.)  so I can looked that characters for what they are ... two characters in a relationship.

I would love the leather jacket for FemShep. The dress is pretty cool for the Kasumi loyalty mission in ME2, but wearing it for anything else is just ridiculous. The leather jacket is something she could actually wear to the Citadel. Turning it into a skintight leather dress is just stupid pandering

In my opinion they really dropped the ball in ME3. Two girls and one grandmother (is Liara available if you said no in ME1?) for femShep and zero males is just plain stupid. I don't know what they where thinking. Did they think that all guys seem to think that girl on girl is hawt or that girl players aren't straight? S/S will never be an option to me no matter what gender the player character is. It would be a massive turn off if Kaidan started hitting my male Shepard.

In any case walking alone is pretty good option for Shepard. I just hate pondering which would be best for Shepard since I personally don't care nor feel anything towards them for obvious reasons. Some are great as friends, like Garrus.

Never been one for defaults.

Well, the thing is, although she might seem default to you, she certainly isn't to me - the moment I created her I wasn't even a member of Bioware Social, heck, I hadn't even heard of this place. I've only been playing the series since late December. I still vividly remember the time I created my Shepard - there's a rather disconcerting lack of ethnic variety in most mainstream video games as well as a rather big gender gap. When I created her I wanted her skin to be a bit dark, her jaw to be a bit wide (to add a hint of 'masculinity'), and gave her gaunt cheeks and rather big cheekbones. I didn't want her to be a generic beauty - I envisaged my Shepard (and still do) as a tough yet sensitive woman with a rather dark past. Her eventual design may be 'default' and 'generic' - because apparently, this look has been done before (see: Teagan), but to me she's perfectly unique. Even though the character creator is limited and we've only got a default set of options, we all still love our Shepards nonetheless - that's certainly the case for me.

My Shepard - Jane - lost her parents at a very early age, only to be shuffled from caretaker to caretaker, only to end up at an overpopulated orphanage where she had a very rough time. This experience hardened her, and she eventually found a way out and ended up in a gang, which was her first real family.

Wait..........isn't it? Don't tell me I'm alone on this!!!!

Seriously though, even I found it surprising. I had fully intended for one of mine to Romance Vega because it made sense story-wise for her. Oops, fail not an option.

Perhaps they are trying to balance it out for how bad they screwed over the straight guys and lesbians that play femshep in Mass Effect 2. All femshep got was two male lizards, Jacob and a creepy inappropriate sexual harrasment of a subordinate (Kelly Chambers).

Thank gawd for Shadowbroker.

Waiit so they left out   straight romances for FemShep in the ME 3... da fuk is that?

Why can't  Bioware get this  stuff right... like its not the that hard... this ain't rocket science.

You know  Bioware has  really been making me  scratch my head... like really.  Some of these moves are just   make no sense at all. So make FemShep  this  package of awesome that appeals to  be male and female player  but you don't or barely give her any straight romances... Why? just because a woman wants to get settle with a guy does mean she lose any of her strenght... Hell look Susan's Storm Richards... she still kicking all types of the ass after marriage and kids  and shuts her husband up on  regular basis...  SMH.

With all this 'straight femshep gets no love' i would want to point out that while he's not everyone's cup of coffee, Kaidan is EXACTLY what some of us like. i mean, he's this *nice* guy who is totally not intimidated by a strong woman and stands by her without being overshadowed by her or overshadowing her. he fits her SO well. it's pretty awesome. that's why i love their dynamic (even though, objectively speaking, i have to admit femshep/liara has the best written and VO dynamic)

and the romance with kaidan - while seriously badly paced at times (honestly, me3 dialog was golden, but came off massively schizto in my playthrough - i love you! let's not have sex. you're with cerberus. let's have drinks and sex ... wtf?) is really some awesome stuff. i really felt like for a romance aimed almost entirely at female players who were devotees of the first game/series, it was a major payoff.

but in some ways, because the kaidan romance was so well done, and because the liara-mance is so good (and garrus and tali, too, from what i hear) it's really nutso when other romances completely got lost in the shuffle. i have to imagine it's pretty crazy to keep track of all the possible stories, but you'd think that someone on the team would designate themselves 'the keeper of plotline x' and see it through? i mean, especially the romances, which have to get them a ton of free advertising on deviant art and such.

eh, my random musings, anyhow.

No, they didn't. But all of them could die in ME1 and ME2, and all except Kaiden need to be started in ME2. Also, the Jacob romance can't be continued and has a really bad resolution.

Kaiden is the only straight option that can be started without having a prior romance and obviously he could be killed back in ME1

I thought we were talking about the default appearance? The uncustomizable redhead in the CC. That's the only thing I was referring to. That she is the default is not a matter of opinion, it's a fact...

As for the other topic of conversation here... sigh.

It's not so much Kaid not being good enough, it's just that if you for instance, chose Ash, and then went for Jacob or Thane in ME2.. Let's say you'd WANT to romance someone else in ME3, you're just plain screwed on the Malefront. But, you know that.

Also I think as much as I love Kaid, he's not right for all my girls. I also think the relationship tends a little bit to schizo in ME3, and personally I liked him more in the part where he was actively arguing with me, because afterwards he just turns so extremely gooey.

Now Vega, uncomplicated macho hunk of a man. Different persona, completely.

Aww, thanks!

This is her face code: 743.15W.T59.F1S.T1M.11J.GK9.41Q.W9C.112.3G4.912

If you want her hair to actually be red like that in ME3, you'll have to edit it in Gibbed Save Editor.

To do this, import your saved game, go under the Raw tab, go to Squad > Player > Appearance > Morph Head then click Vector Parameters and a little box with "..." comes up. Click that.

In the pop-up window, edit the HED_Hair_Color_Vector to the following values:
B: 0.049
G: 0.34
R: 0.7

Then change the HED_Addn_Color_Vector values (this is the eyebrows):
B: 0.03
G: 0.07
R: 0.29

Save and enjoy!

Oh and here's her ME2 face code (it's a little different than 3 because I had to tweak it due to the importer being borked): 743.15W.S5G.F8A.T1R.61I.1DA.71N.RBC.114.3G4.515

It would have been better if they made the same LI available regardless of genders - the same wether you play male shep or femshep - and leave the lesb. approach out of it. I don't play the game with the intent of having a lesbian or gay romance; all i want is for the character that i love to be available...pretty much all squadmates.
