Not sure if I like the idea of all characters being potential romances for either gender. I know that Kaidan was intended to be bisexual in ME1, and while I was looking forward to there being a male romance option in the third game, I just cannot accept Kaidan as a legitimate partner for male Shepard. What's done is done, essentially. Bioware instead placed him as a "straight" character in ME1 and because I romanced him with my first Femshep, Devi, it's real hard for me to see him batting for the other side too. I wonder if some others feel the same way?

(This has absolutely nothing to do with opposing same sex romance for femshep or maleshep.)

I'm kind of on the fence on this matter, really - it's a good thing BroShep () has more than one male option, but at the same time it's kind of odd that Kaidan wasn't available before.

I am also on fence.

I find 'bi' characters in these games are...well, they're not really bi, are they? In games where you romance Fenris with MHawke, Fenris strikes me as gay, not bi. But if you don't romance him, he starts a fling with izzy. izzy clearly IS bi, but if you play MHawke with Merrill, she's straight. Anders gives you that line about Karl being lovers only if you play MHAwke. As FHawke, I totally thought he was straight, given awakening dialog. it's not even like they could swing both ways - it's like in some people's games, they ARE straight, are bi, are gay. if kaidan was into rahna and now MShep, then he's bi? or was gay all along?

i'm not sure if i'm making sense. my thought: there's a whole lot of headcanon going on. on the one hand, i would love it if they had characters that were gay, bi, and straight and that's just the way they were - that it was part of their characterization and consistent that way. but it doesn't bother me if it shifts for games. i think the weirdness for me is that kaidan and ash were both meant to be bi in me1, then they weren't, then we get that blip about them being canonically straight 'cause shep is, then they change that for kaidan alone. BIZarre. a lot of bizarre goin' on with the romances, i gotta say.

Infinite parallel universe theory. It works wonders for the head cannon. The main protagonist’s identity is not a constant. He or she can be gay or straight, badass or diplomat, blonde, brunette or redhead, etc, etc, etc.  Why not the same for the NPCs? In an m/m romance playthrough Kaidan is bi and may have been holding in feeling.  In an f/m romance playthrough he is straight and always has been.

Nope. She doesn't do the girl-club thang (even though she did in the past, but hey!)
I imagine if she had let femshep romance her, she'd also NOT have cried. But that's just me.

FemShep would have had make-up removal wipes on hand and could have stopped the mascara running.

And @ Jamie. yeah. that. infinite headcanoning of universes. in my headcanon, kaidan is straight. in my headcanon liara is only into women. and hackett has a secret thing for the band Abba. B)

That or it's written taking the femsheppers in mind, not because they're nessecarily lesbian/bi, but some count among the exeptions of people that can make me doubt my own alighnment. Yes, I'm looking at you, Red/Ais. I'm also hoping this level of 'kid' can be handled in the current crowd =P

Also, not that I have any evidence supporting it, but do you think girls are less 'anally fixated' then guys? Asin, I've always had the idea that most girls are less opposed to gay concept than the average men are, but then we already consider plugged holes as the status quo, and with two girls together that's even optional.

Even so, I want Vega. Why U NO romance?

Euhh, sure, toss this up top of page, so I can feel like everyone read it and is now silently judging me to be bat**** insane. They're not wrong, but you know =P

Oh baby. ;):kissing:

Though Kaidan is more than enough man for Zody. But I can't romance just him or Garrus with ALL my freaking straight Shepards. Its so freaking unfair that this romance is so prefect and the ME2 ones are dropped so horrible. Apparently, I can only play one of my Shepards through ME3. Going to have to recon the one I was saving for Vega for Garrus and making another a second chance Kaidanmancer. The other 2 will never be imported. :pinched:

I appreciate that they didn't make the LIs up for grabs whichever way you swing. It makes each character more distinct that way, methinks. Like how you could say that a bi character is an open-minded sort, and how a straight character could have a more traditional way of thinking. Although I do feel awful that femSheppers - those just starting out with ME3, especially - got the shaft with LI choices.

I still don't understand why they couldn't have tossed us Vega. He has so much potential for an LI as it is! He's a cool bro, sure, but it wouldn't hurt to have that option for people who want to pursue him. We could use more options.

Precisely. I don't want to feel like a space Casanova and I also don't want to feel as though I could just pick from the litter, so to speak. I like that there are characters who are off limits and much as I like Vega, I appreciate him more because of this. It's okay not to be able to romance someone. Hell, even Joker turns you down and it felt good. Is it not enough that Shepard kicks major ass? Now she has to tap every ass out there? No thanks...

But if she can't, then my Mary-Sueism for her is broken and that is not okay. I need to know that everyone of the NPCs WILL fall in love with me, no matter how I treat them or how horrible I am to them. Also, I should not have to choose between them. The Normandy is my harem where I hold court. Everyone should be mine, always, and whenever I say so. Also, I should have a VI made of my Shepard so that she can romance herself. This is only fair and right.

  Here's a Vega.

I always wanted Shepard to have a study area that was separate from her bedroom. It feels real awkward having platonic characters walk into the bed area when they want to have a private conversation. Sometimes the intimacy is a bit much. I demand a study that rivals that of Captain Picard's.

I also found this weird. Maybe it was because in ME2, NO ONE DARES step into Shep's sancutary. Then vega and traynor and like everyone are up there. liara was one thing, but it was weird for everyone to stop by. also since kaidan is hiding down in the crew deck forever. eh, that's games for you, though. their logic sometimes is screwy with my headcanon

Capture Card for PC? I don't think you need one. You can take screenshots if you download Fraps.

You can either use external programs like FRAPS, or you can edit your coalesced.bin file to create a binding for the in-game screenshot function.

Although you do need a capture card if you plan to take shots from consoles, otherwise you'd have to take pictures from the screen ;)

The cabin area even has a spacious foyer; they could have atleast placed a sleek looking retractable wall to block the bed from view. Man, it's got to be intimidating having to walk into the Commander's sanctuary just to have a talk. And does your love interest look around furtively before he/she takes the elevator to paradise? :P

I don't think a person's sexuality is any indication of their level of open-mindedness or attitude toward tradition.

No, but it is a traditional/open-minded way of thinking, no other way to put it really. Doesn't mean a straight person can't be open-minded, or a bi/gay person can't be traditional.

I never really thought about that. But yeah, it must feel awkward walking into Shepard's bed/lounge area for a "private talk". xD
