Yes, I keep getting myself derailed with the endings stuff. Apologies to all. It is completely eating at the back of my mind, because musing over ideas and literature is sort of what I *do*. In the past, discussing the plot of ME1 and 2 and how well they are working/not working for us and our Shepards has been at least tangentially accepted. And since I like the folks here and find discussing stuff with you all is interesting, I keep falling into talking about endings here.
But I'm seeing that the ending of ME3 is polarizing people, so I shall stop. Instead, I'll drop off fanfic and/or pictures of Kyrie at a later date.
Just FYI, I like reading your musings. I don't mind ending discussions at all. It's cathartic on several levels because we simply don't have any closure for our Shepards as things stand and some of us are still in the grieving process because their vision didn't line up with ours. I am absolutely one of those that wanted the ending we had in ME1 -- kill the big bad boss, shake hands with comrades and go celebrate with sweetheart, but it's obvious to me that they wanted the ending to be about sacrifice. I also get it if others want to not talk about the ending for a few pages in a row. =p

Edit: Oh, and sage, this is a
thread you might be interested in following if you didn't already see it before. The author of "Final Hours" app for ME3 has joined the community and is answering questions about his time with the ME3 team. Doesn't have answers on why the game ended the way it did, but it's still an interesting read since I know you dig that kind of stuff and have questions of your own.
