Agreed 100%. The Avenger feels more balanced than any other ar. I was afraid it would become obselete against  the rest of ME3 arsenal. I'm glad in the end it retained a good balance in design/efficiency.  I feel pretty much the same about the predator - although it does feel underpowered in some mission levels - and oversized too. I mainly like the Valkyrie for its look - Shepard looks so bad ass wielding it - not until i got its fifth upgrade that I felt somewhat satisfied with it. I was a little suprised how unaccurate it felt in the beginning - as the whole point in making it 2/3 round burst is to help maintain a good target acquisition.


* ME movie featuring ME Universe - cool; ME movie featuring Cmr. Shepard - no thanks; ME movie featuring Femshep - Hell no.

Hmmm... I have 1087 at the moment (1,66 GB). I haven't finished this run yet, probably end up around 1400 (and I don't have old run pictures any more). I usually keep around 50% of snapped pics. Another depression in getting nigh...

Not really. 'Cause here's the thing: If you're going to make a 'HERO SAVES THE WORLD!' movie, you're going to make the lead a) white male c) straight. I betcha NO studio exec is ever going to get past that triple-threat stereotype.

And that's fine. a lot of people want to hear that story. me? i find that story boring. i've heard it before and it was called StarWars/JamesBond/RobinHood/TheMatrix/etc.etc.etc. I prefer to mix it up. Granted, Kyrie only messes with b (yeah, i guess i'm one of those evil 'blonde sheps' pfft.) but i do love me some femshep/liara stuff. watching my hubby play his asian femshep with liara is just too cute. they are the sweetest couple. 

so i think the thing that made ME work was that shep could totally change up what a 'hero' had to be in a way that hollywood types would never dream of doing. it means bioware had to kind of 'hide' the alternate shepards in plain sight, but so long as the customization is there, you can bet i'm messing with the hero stereotype as much as i can.

The claymore's my baby. I upgraded it to hell and back, put the giant hilarious bayonet on it, everything. There should have been a paragon hug for Grunt, because when I realized he'd kept Esperanza's sweet, sweet shotgun and just left it where I could pick it up, he sure deserved one.

For context, the point where I realized Esperanza was my favorite Shep was when I was remaking her for PC (originally played 1 and 2 as they came out on the boyfriend's xbox!) and going through 1. I got to the locker scene, with no love interest. So there's Esperanza, alone and depressed. Except for some reason, she glitched a bit, and she has her shotgun on. "Oh, shotgun. At least YOU'LL never let me down."

She had a big grin on when she picked the claymore up in 2. Garrus be damned, that shotgun is the love of her life. Zaheed and Jesse are jealous.

If there's a Shepard in the movie, it won't be something I'd watch.  I'd much rather have seen a movie about the First Contact war than something that focuses on a character who is different for every person that plays the game.

Shepard, as your avatar, is unique to the player.  I'd explain the back story or something else in the universe, rather than rehash what has already gone on.  The first three expansion novels did a good job of that, and gave a fuller (if different) vision of the universe the game built.  The trick is keeping it consistient.  I'm sure we all have, from experience and assumptions about the world, different ideas about how it all works.

Oh, and I'm a little apprehensive about the ending.  Due to a vacation and work, I'm fighting my way through London.   Chuchill's City of Refuge, in ruins. . .

Although getting through Thessia gave me an idea for my new FanFic, and letting my UberParagon vent a little.

In my current playthrough i don't have any (barrel upgrade) - all my guns and upgrades are level 5 or higher/ i don't have anything level 10 yet - and it's working out fine - as long as i stay in normal difficulty(/or hardcore for some missions). i compensate by installing  the stabllity damper - the optic helps if i'm not carrying a sr but i do try to avoid it because of its reduced the field of vision.

@Hadeedak: the claymore is how i materialize that special bond between Shepard and Grunt...i think about him every time i see it.

Huh... that's a good point actually.

I wonder if that's the main push behind why femShep is so popular?  I know Jessica (and I feel narcissistic always bringing her up, but she IS Shepard to me, and plus I can't speak for anyone else's Shepard) doesn't fit any of those categories... female, obviously, Middle Eastern olive skin (although the character creator in ME makes her look too white for my taste), and... well, not straight, apparently (I know asari are mono-gendered, but that gender happens to be female).

I'd love to see some sort of media where the protagonist is officially established as not fitting all three of those prerequisites.

The only one of my existing Shepards, I have imported so far, since I gave her a new face in ME2 and the only one I could import without a problem.

She is a Vanguard relying on the Claymore and the Carnifex. She likes to charge hard and get up-close and personal.
She is a Renegon, earth-born, sole survivor and despite having had crushes on Ashley, Miranda and Gianna (with whom she had a short fling in a silly fic I wrote ), she finally found some love with Samantha.
In the end, she chose to destroy the Reapers.

Sometimes I think Mass Effect is more about the friendships than anything else - almost even the romances. As much as I loved moments in the FemShep/Kaidan reunion, I really wanted to patch things up friend-wise, too. That felt a little lacking at times... in a weird way that I can't quite explain and will probably fanfiction.

But yeah. Friends. Too many lost. Clinging to the ones still remaining.
