That first article was great!  I'm still not a fan of the indoctrination theory, but at least the article rightly points out that even if that were the case, it was wildly mishandled.

Sarah and trusting people don't really work out. Trusting Batarians is forever a no go with her. Killing her family and childhood on Mindoir created a personal hatred against all Batarians. The raid on Elysium reinforced the hate and the death of a few friends sealed the deal. Sarah do know that not all Batarians are evil but she's not interested in giving them a chance. She did however save the Batarian on the streets of Omega but not out of kindess but of necessity. She needed the information and she thought of finishing the Batarian off but didn't, she understood him and his hate. The Batarians that hold David weren't as lucky though. She lied to them and gunned them down without the slightest regret or emotion at all.

Balak really don't improve her view on the Batarians and killing him is almost as rewarding as saving the galaxy, just more personal and way more dirty. Kaidan do have his job cut out for him if he want to make her reconsider whatever Batarians that might still be alive.

Well, considering Earth kinda got all shot to heck and back, I'm imagining jailbreaks probably happened all over. That was the impression I got. Kind of flattered he came after Shepard straight away. Stupid move, though. Seems he didn't learn the lesson of the Commander Shepard Song.

A lot of lessons can be learned from that videoB)   I cant believe I let him live again after he killed over 100 civilians...  

Mind you that song is still as good as the first time I listened to it!  :happy:

Yes, exactly. Okay, yes, I know it's not a work of literature, it's a videogame, but seriously. narrative conventions people. If you're going to break 'em, you'd better know what the hell you're doing. This coming from an amateur.

 wow, okay, no seriously red. i skimmed that article, then read it in detail. yes, yes, and frickin EXACTLY.

holy cow. some of the things i've read re: the endings could be grad-school level papers for lit crit. i'm not even kidding. when people say the fans are just being whiney and entitled, i think, um, yeah, some are. but then there are the ones who are so smart you almost wince when they lay the logical smackdown on the problems with the endings. 

i'm sitting up and taking notes for own writing. don't want to pull a bioware.

^ i think that may become a new catchphrase.

and yeah, sorry, ramblings.  umm.....

Seriously I bet if well  stated down and put our collective heads together we could come up with a much better endings  than  Bioware and we are  like you said - "ameteurs".  Really the only difference is we are are not getting paid to write  and they are.   Honestly it comes off as a bit ungrateful... I would have loved to  be able to work on this game and endings. Long nights, longer days... sleeping at the office.. won't matter because creating anything, book, painting,  video game, movie, play  whatever is a labor of love man.   That does not come though in these endings at all...

I was very glad that there wasn't a scene like that with Kaidan. He doesn't strike me as the type to get I-want-to-die drunk. Slightly tipsy, yes but not more.

There is no scene like that with Kaidan, fortunately. The first scene you get with Kaidan on the Normandy is him talking about his parents back on Earth. They were in Vancouver when the Reapers attacked.

I have not played my game with Ash yet, but I do hear comparisons here and there like Ash gets an extra scene at the memorial wall while Kaidan doesn't. I've youtubed both Kaidan and Ash's final goodbye and I have to say that Kaidan does seem to have more to offer dialogue-wise. Reciting poetry to Ash would have been the last thing on my mind if she was in my game. =p (Maybe that's just the romanced version?)

Speaking of the ending, I was thinking of holding a fanfic contest at femshep.com.  A "write your own ending" contest w/ prizes being BW store gift certificates.  So let me get you opinion on one thing.  Would you all rather wait until BW releases the "closure" DLC or just jumpstart it now?  Thanks!

I like that they no longer share the same scenes and exact same dialogue. It was a major complaint in ME2, after all.

I kind of want to see what Bioware does. At the moment I have a head canon ending that helps me cope, but I am curious to see what comes of this.

Contests are never a bad thing, however. Definitely keeps the mind off things.
